Boy this devotional hit home this morning.  With some struggles I have been going through it’s really hard not to get sour and want to give up but I know God has a plan and I’m really encouraged to keep on going and to finish what God has started because as the scripture says, He who began the GOOD work in you will carry through to completion.  Amen!!

Today’s Reading

Judges 17:1-18:31
John 3:1-21
Psalm 104:1-23
Proverbs 14:20-21

Daily Devotional

"…He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus"
(Philippians 1:6, NIV)

Sometimes when God is doing a work in our lives, things can get a little uncomfortable. We may encounter people who are hard to get along with or have cir****tances that seem beyond our control. When this happens, instead of complaining, getting sour, or trying to change everything around you, why don't you look deep inside and say, "Lord, thank You for doing a work in me." See, I've learned that God is more interested in changing me than He is in changing my cir****tances. If I choose to stay sour because I'm not getting my way or discouraged because things aren't happening on my time table, that's going to keep me right where I am.

If you want to see change, if you want to see God open up new doors, the key is to bloom right where you're planted. You can't wait until everything gets better before you decide to have a good attitude. You have to be the best that you can be right where you are. When you bloom where you're planted, you're allowing God to work in you, and He will be faithful to complete what He's started in you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father God, thank You for doing a work in me. I choose to align myself with Your plan by blooming where I'm planted. Help me, by Your Spirit, to be an example of Your love and life everywhere I go. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Boy Andy that was a good devotional... and I want to give you a word of encouragement if I can?

You can be proud of the work you are doing to improve your situaton both physically and spiritually I am learning they sure can be intertwined!  Depending on how you choose to look at things... I know when I am in tune spiritually, physical things tend to line up a bit better!

Any way Andy I pray you stay encouraged to be all that God wants you to be... I am quite sure He is pleased with your efforts!

You can't wait until everything gets better before you decide to have a good attitude. You have to be the best that you can be right where you are.   ... and He will be faithful to complete what He's started in you!

This says much to me today... I stuggle so very much with my attitude with not being where I want to be although I am much much closer than I was a couple of weeks ago... but as I've told you before I struggle with a poor attitude at my situation and it's does me NO GOOD!  I have to decide many times a day to have a good attitude about it and some times I succeed and sometimes I fail miserably but I WILL keep striving to "bloom where I'm planted"...

Thanks Andy for being so faithful to this post I couldn't even count all the times it has ministered to me!

Thanks Bec so much for the encouraging word, I needed that for sure.  Like you, this journey has been a struggle and yeah I to get a bad attitude and have to straighten myself out, well God straightens me out.  I really have found though like you, when my attitude is in check things go a bit easier or smoother I should say.  I sometimes get a bad attitude asking God why it's been such a struggle for me when some hardly struggle at all and yet they are where they want/need to be?  Reading this mornings (Tuesday) devotional answered that question for me.  Thanks again for your encouraging words, they mean more to me then I can express.

Bless ya,

Andy
