Hi friends, thanks so much for the prayers and kind worrds. I didn't get to ttake before pictures and am regretting it now, my gosh I can now look down and see my feet. I was scheduled for a panniculectomy, but am pretty sure he gave me the whole darn tummy tuck, My incision goes from hip to hip, thanfrom the middle near my pubic bone (he lifted that as well !!) up close to my breast bone, I have alot of swelling but to my eyes now well...I think minus the scars I will look ....drumroll please....NORMAL! i AM WORRIED THAT IF THEY TRY TO CHG. MEDICARE FOR A TUMMY TUCK THEY WON'T PAY..BUT i GUESS SINCE ALL MY PAPERWORK SAY'S PANNI, tHAT'S WHAT HE OFFICIALLY DID (sorry about the caps)  Truth time though I am in ALOT of PAIN worse than the hysterectomy and gastric bypass combined!, he gave me 2 percosets every 4 hr.s plus one exd release oxy contin every 12 hr.s , and 1 valium every 8 hr.s, so I am a bit loopy, he say's they took off about 14 lb.s, that seems like it should be 50! I have 3 jp drains...gross, never had one before, the doc say's he'll take them out when the drainage is less than 20 cc per. The one with the most is just under 40 and the least is already under 20cc so maybe it won't be long. sorry this is out of sequence but he said he got my tummy as tight as he could,(that's also the most painful part right now) that is what they do in a tummy tuck right? well I can see i'm not making as much sense when re reading this so i'll get off of here and drink some protein (good girl right lol) Thanks again for all of you who have responded with kind words and the like, i don't have any friends other than family, and it's been so nice to know I can post on here and get a caring response, wish I could send you all a dozen roses!! love to all, Susan a

Susy~Glad you are home. You know it's the thought that counts and is better than a dozen roses. Hope the pain goes away soon, like having your children when you look at them later you'll probably realize it was worth it.

Sorry you are in so much pain.  I'm sure you look normal whether you had surgery or not.  Hope you continue to heal and feeling like a whole new person very soon.

Did you have your surgery with the KU doctor?

I thought I didn't want any more surgery but I would like to have my tummy done.  I don't have loose skin but more like flab.  I'm sure my insurance wouldn't pay anything though.  My WLS also does plastic surgery so when I see him next I'm going to see what it would cost and if insurance would cover it.

Yes, I had it done with a KU dr. (Ponnuru) he is just so kind, he made me feel so at ease, also, I know he did more work than what my insurance will pay for, I think he did pretty much a full tummy tuck rather than just the panniculectomy (which is all my ins. will cover)  I would recommend checking out ku's program esp. if you are paynig out of pocket, ask Barbara, they are definetly the cheapest around . Right now my pain hurts more than my gastric and hysterectomy combined!! but I would do it again in a heartbeat!! love and hugs, Susan. ps I would like to find out what the upper arm lift would cost, and if there is anyway to get ins. to cover it...?
