WOW that sun is sort of deceiving out there this morning. looks warm but when you step outside it feels chilly. is suppose to get to close to 70 here today tho and after all that rain will be good day to pull weeds lol ...I need to go buy about 6 large containers of Preen so i dont have to do this again ....

This morning before i do anything else tho i have to go over and see my brother. I promised him i would be over there today. He is stuck there in that bed with IV's running and i know that has to be driving him nuts....He is like me and the rest of my family we are all people that dont stay still long.

My garden really looks good now since the rains. funny how rain makes things grow so much better than watering does ....

Im off work for the next few days so i have lots i want to get done.  I may quit work for awhile because i just cant keep my flowers and garden up and work too. ...dont know yet. will see.

Have my protein coffee sipping on it this morning , usually go out on the back porch but too chilly out there this morning. The birds are sure singing this morning and the air smells so good and clean. The pollen has all been washed out of the air and off everything , Thank You God.....
Maybe peoples sinuses will all clear up now. I know mine will a lot ....

ive got a lot more iris in bloom this morning. they are just loaded with buds. will be so pretty in a few more days.   wish you all could see them....come on down when you can if you want....

Got to get busy , talk to you all again later today....

Will it ever quit raining and just be nice??  We're better off though than those poor folks in Mississippi where there were 49 tornadoes.

I am done with Fashion Bug.  They send out tons of $10 off coupons but have now stopped letting you use them on red tag items ad red tag is about all I buy.  I'm a bargain shopper.  Yesterday I had 4 tops to buy and couldn't use the $10 so I didn't buy them.  They would have been about $30 with the coupon.  Guess they'd rather get no money that let us use the coupon.

Do any of you drink green tea.  I love tea, hot or iced, but haven't found green tea I like, but I hear great things about it for weight loss and health benefits.

Starting today I MUST write down what I eat and monitor my eating.  I had hoped not to have to do that after WLS, but I always feel I'm overeating if I don't track it.  Meals aren't a problem, but grazing is.  I still weigh what I did in July 2008.  I gained a few pounds but took them right back off.  I hope to sign up for Jazzercise this week.

We had a health fair at work last Friday.  Everything was good except my BP was 145/85.  I had drank a Click and a cup of coffee, both with caffeine so the nurse said that could cause the increase.  I'm going to monitor it at home.  My dad had high BP and he wasn't overweight.  I was on BP meds for 30 years before WLS.  Within a month of the surgery, I was off all BP meds.  Think I'll switch from coffee to decaf tea.

Jo...

You asked about green tea... I found a wonderful green tea.  I don't know if you like candy cane flavor, if you do I would be willing to send you a sample.

The only draw back is you have to get it around Christmas time... it's called Candy Cane Lane... it has more than just peppermint flavor...

"Candy Cane Lane is an irresistible blend of peppermint, creamy vanilla and just a touch of cinnamon and sweet blackberry leaves.  Best of all it's made with antioxidant rich decaffeinated green tea.  So you can enhance your health while you enjoy your treat."

That's what the box says... like I said if you think you would like it I'll send you a sample and then you can watch for it next year when it comes out... I get it at Wal~Mart and get several boxes at a time. It's usually about $2 for 20 servings.

Let me know and I'll give you my e~mail address so you can send me your address.

Otherwise I hope you find a green tea you like there are lots of them out there.

Have you tried the lipton green tea? diet(of course..duh) it's really good, also costco has a kirkland brand that is really good , i like it better than the lipton and its cheaper, i think around 10.00 for a 30 or 36 pack of 20 oz.  good luck, i am in the same boat with the grazing.....

Jo:::::dont you just hate that when someone wont honor a coupon that they sent out or what ever..there are some grocery stores around that wont honor internet cupons that you print out.

That is sad about your b/p hope you figure out what is causing it....it might be the caffeine but also check your salt intake.....sometimes that is the problem.....are you drinking enough water. dehydration can cause elevated b/ps also...we see it alot with the elderly cause it is really hard to get them to drink water....they dont want to get up and go pee....

I will try to post regular - I had quit posting on all my message boards except my wall on facebook as I could keep up with my kids and family.  I just didn't feel up to chatting etc...  i know that people do care as I got a few phone calls.

The garden looks drowned but no standing water in it so far.  Its still sprinkling here now but at least I got the dog out for a short walk.

My Aunt brought over 2 boxes of material she had and thought I could use it.  Now I have no excuse for not sewing except I have no patterns in a size 12.  All my patterns are 5X or 28's to 32's.

You all take care!

Hi Shannon!  It is good to see you posting again.  I think most of us go thru times when we just don't have what it takes to post... for what ever reason. But it sure is good know you are ok.

That's what size I wore before surgery...it still just amazes me that I was there... I'm glad to hear you are at a good healthy weight now. I hope you are happy and feeling good about where you are?  You are right "tater chips" are an evil draw! ~ha

I have found that I can do lots lots more work outside this year than EVER before!  It's wonderful!  I still have a bit of weight to lose to be where I want to be and trying lately to really focus in on it again.  By golly it seems to have taken me way longer than most that had surgery the same time I did... but I've sure not given up and will get there.

I hope you get to sewing it might be fun to sew something that is not a size 28! ~tee hee  You be able to get two outfits for the price of one! ~tee hee

Are you doing anything new in your garden this year?  I spent two hours yesterday morning talking to a "Master Gardner" in Sutherland's.  She was a wealth of information!  Hope I can hold on in my mind to what all she said.  Thorn-less blackberry bushes are my new thing this year.  I hope they do well.

Again it was good to see you post.

Blessings,
Bec

Good Morning OH,

It still looks like it could rain here any minute. Sure wish we would get a couple days of sun so my DS can bring out the mulch he got for our garden. Don't think he can even go get it till it dries out.

Am on the last day of 1 meal allowed. Have only really had a couple of moments when I was really hungry. and was in the morning. SF popsickles and jello really helps a lot.

Had a very emotional moment this morning, saw my sister-in-law has a facebook page and she posted a picture of her and my neices, they are growing up so fast and just brought back the old feelings I get of having lost an important part of my life when I was sent to live with my grandparents.

I have not been in touch with my brothers and sister in CA for a couple of years. We actually did not grow up together, was seperated from them because of family issues and my grandparents raised me, from the time I was 11 years old. So we did bond when we were younger and it still hurts that I know they are my family but we are kind of out of touch. I did try and reach out this morning, to let them know I love them and that I am having surgery, so just kind of broke up. These are some of the issues I have been burying with my food addiction and will have to learn to deal with the best I can.

I have really stressed with my children that no matter what happens in their lives, they need to keep in touch with each other and let their children get to know their extended family.

OK, done with that.

Jan~I understand about wanting to be with your brother when he's not well. Having someone that loves you close when you're in the hospital.

I love Iris, do plan on getting some out for next year. Have to come down and see your garden. Since you are taking time off, may just pop in one day this week.

Jo~I'm a bargain hunter too, and even though I don't save coupons for stuff I don't normally buy, I do use coupons when I can, and it makes me so angry when I try to use them on something like that and the store won't let you. Maybe if they lose enough business they will see the light.

I was tracking my calories and protein until a couple days ago and since I am really careful about not eating more than 300 calories for my one meal I quit, now that I start total liquids tomorrow I am keeping a log again to make sure I get enough protein.

Sandy~I'm not a newbie have been on the board since 2007, just came back at the end of last year, finally decided to have surgery. Am scheduled for May 3, for RNY. The best thing I have done ever for me was come to this board and start the process. I'm glad you are here, these are the best people in the world.

Well hope everyone has a nice Sunday, DH is up from his nap and started cleaning up so need to go help. Love you all.
