WHATS HAPPENING FRIDAY
is is still suppose to rain tonight? or storm? or what? i never hear the news most of the time anymore it seems.
since i dont have to work today i am going to get serious about that front flower bed and get all the weeds out and then plant some marigolds so there will be flowers in there soon again. I think this fall i am going to dig up all the tulips and plant them around in the back so i can keep the deer off them. and plant something else up there that they dont like ....not sure what that will be right now. they will eat just about anything in early spring. even iris,,,,so not sure.
Have other seeds i need to get into the ground too. especially if i want any flowers from them at all.
will plant all my zinnia and marigold seeds. today too. especially if it is going to rain good. that will get them going well.
so guess i better get off here and see what i can get done today. got to get my protein coffee down and get to going. ....
what you got planned for today??

It's simply pouring rain here lots and lots of rain! We needed it so bad but I hope it does not wash my seeds away!
Well there is new news to report in the barnyard. One of the "ladies" has been setting and setting and setting... she would lay one egg and then set... Paul wasn't going to have that so he would take her egg away and push her off the nest... boy oh boy would she get MAD. She would huff up her feathers and squawk and squawk and bite Paul...then as soon as Paul left she would go set on someone Else's egg... well after multi times of this Paul decided to get her a couple of baby chicks... oh dear! Well... right when he brought them home she took right to one and pecked the other one... but within 24 hours you would have thought she hatched them both... she has taken right to them and will nearly KILL anyone or thing that even wants to look at them... too funny...Paul tricked her! They aren't even her breed!!! I love it!!! They are "Production Reds" the only kind he could get. If anyone comes around her, she hurries and pushes them under her wings... it's great! And I'm here to tell you she will not let the other hens anywhere close to them! Now I know there is great "lessons" to be learned here! ~tee hee Anyway the other "ladies" are laying quite well and I've even had several dozen to give away to the neighbors. Will fill you in on the next saga as it happens. ~tee hee I'm sure as the little ones start to get out and move around there will be more to tell... I can't imagine that hen... sharing to well! ~ha
Have been working off and on all week getting my planting done... I have some beets up, sugar snap peas, taters, tomatoes planted, green beans, squash, corn but those are not up yet...
I've cleaned out my closet again and today have to do some just plain ole housework... will get it done while it's raining... I'm not in the house much right now... I'm enjoying this "good" weather while it lasts... soon we will be saying it's too hot.
Oh my goodness Mimi! You are not going to believe what happened to my nice beautiful Hollyhock you gave me... I planted it and later came up the drive and an Evil Rabbit was eating it!!! I was livid... he ate a whole big leave right off of it and parts of two others... it's like de'sha'vue (sp) when those squirrels kept digging up the hens and chicks you gave me just to be throwing them out till they killed them! I'm so disgusted about that rabbit! But maybe it will make it yet? The plant that is...~ha
My hibiscus still have not come up and the neighbor ladies is up real well now... I sure hope I did not lose it? Still have lots of flowers to plant... I am going early in the morning to get the rest of the bedding plants I want and some peppers.
Paul got to work every day this week that he was suppose too, the first time in many many months...even though it was shortened hours... it will be better than unemployment.
Mimi ~ sure sorry when you have rough times at work! I sure don't miss the "stuff" of working in a facility... but I sure loved my job of activity director when I did it. Thinking of things I used to do with the residents reminded me of this I've written below:
Say I have been meaning to tell all you Mo folks about going down to Mimi's house and her having a "Martha Stewart" moment....she had this really great idea to serve strawberry shortcake in a strawberry carton. She lined the carton with plastic wrap and then was going to make the dessert in it and shut the lid...she could of even put a plastic spoon and napkin in it. I thought that was really cute... especially since she "says" she is not inclined that way... I thought she did good! I thought it being served in one of those old fashions wooden cartons would of been neat too ... especially setting in her gardens... would of fit perfectly!
Debbie Darl'n ~ I hope you have a wonderful time in Branson this weekend! Praying safety as you travel and that you enjoy it and are refreshed ever so much!
Jeanie Rae ~ Am praying for you as you continue this liquid diet and that your surgery is super successful! I'm excited for you and Mimi is probably right all the driving I know would help me keep my mind off the liquid diet. Hope it does you too!
Suzy ~ wow on the cost of the lbl!!! I hope it goes very well and you are so pleased with the results!
Barbs ~ I too want to congratulate you on your anniversaries! I'm so pleased you got to have the plastics and that your happy with the results! 43 years is something to be proud of too!
Susan ~ Blessings to you today! Praying all is going well with you and you are finding yourself at your very very best!
Razz ~ my best wishes to you as you continue to heal and get started on this new way of life. So many many wonderful things in store for you!
Lana ~ You doll you! I've been a really good girl and have NOT been cooking since Easter! ~tee hee
Jo ~ I was excited to hear you got some good deals on the material... don't you just LOVE good deals! It's thrilling! Have you gotten any of it sewed up yet? What are you going to make with it. I hope you like the Jazzersize... you will have to tell me all about it... I'm afraid if I got these hips going one way they wouldn't come back! ~tee hee
Well it is suppose to let up the rain in the middle of the day and then storm again tonight... I am hoping to get my exercise in in the let up... have to make myself buckle down now and do housework... ugh. I'm much rather be doing "bout" anything else... but if I do not do it I will wish I had when I could be outside in the nice weather.
Have a good day all.
Bec
and for me haveing a Martha Stewart moment. that is one to savor cause they dont come around very often lol ...
Im glad you are having so much fun with the rabbits lol get some hot pepper and spray it on the leaves maybe that will make him leave it alone...but if not put a small wire fence around it. something like chicken wire so he cant reach it....what a bout your new hens and chicks i gave you are the other varmits leaving them alone this year? ....
you know we didnt dig you up any more of the double orange lilies. ....I just gave a friend of mine a huge big bunch of them and i still have more than i know what to do with.
i surely know what you mean about the house work in this pretty weather. and then when it rains all i want to do is sleep so it is really hard for me to get motivated to clean lol

Was all set to plant my herbs today but its pouring down rain now. It looks like I have lost my tarragon, oregano and rosemary so will have to replace those. The sage, chives and thyme have made a big come back. Just have to plant my basil, cilantro and parsley also. Have set out a few plants in the kitchen garden off the patio along with my candy onion plants, lettuce, radishes, salad greens, english cucumbers and scallions. we will probably start setting out plants sometime next week. My neighbor across the street built a greenhouse and we have most of our plants in it and boy do they look great - bigger and better than any you can buy now.
Take care Everyone and I will try not to be awol again.
Hugs- Sandy
Hope you will stay around now since you have reconected with us....we miss you when you are gone and i can use your knowledge about vegg\ies a lot.

Jan, I think every workplace has someone that is difficult. You wonder why an employer keeps them. I think getting along with people is an important part of the job. I get good reviews about being well liked so guess I'm not one of them.
Susan, Max is feeling good. His doctor wants to do a nerve block in his leg, but the Aetna nurse doesn't think that's a good idea. She said they need to find out why he has pain. The nerve block eliminates the pain but not the cause.
My kitchen is still not painted. Max is supposed to do the walls today and tomorrow. The painter was supposed to do the ceiling last Thursday but didn't show up. He called yesterday saying he has had back trouble and will be there May 3rd. I really want it done NOW.
Bec, I haven't sewed a stitch this week. After it warmed up Max put my heater in the shed and now is't chilly out there. I hope to sew this weekend. I already have a cabinet full of fabric then I go buy more. I really need to weed out some of the fabric stash but I can't seem to part with any of it.
Jazz, hope you're doing well.

Hope you get your kitchen done soon,....i know how that can weigh over your head. I would love to repaint my whole house but then i would have to stop and think of what i wanted for this color here and there. lol
You sound like my mom with the fabric...my sister and i use to go over once in a while and help her organize all of her sewing room stuff and she had piles and piles of fabric. wouldnt get rid of any of it. bless her heart she loved to sew ....

Well slowed down a little today, so we came home and took an early nap. DH was craving my goulash and made him a big pot divided it up so he can pull it out of the freezer and heat it up.
He is being good about understanding my not wanting to cook too much. I try to stay out of the kitchen except at meal time. I have really eaten my share of sf popsickles. Saw chicken wings on sale at our Price Cutter so am having hot wings for my meal tomorrow. So am marking my days.
Only problem I have really had is regularity. I am stopped up, been trying prune juice, have to be careful about laxatives because most of them have a lot of potassium, Mira Lax doesn't work that good for me so wondering if anybody out there has had that problem and if there is something else that may help me.
Had another sort of wow moment, was diagnosed about a year and a half ago with gluacoma, and have taken my drops and the pressure had gone down at my last visit. My eyes started getting red and irritated a few weeks ago and have been using artificial tears to relieve them, they stopped helpin last week and had to go to eye dr. this morning, my occular pressure is low enough now he took me off the drops and wants to see me a month out from surgery. He is sure the glaucoma was caused by my high blood pressure, and it is down to 124/68. Only bad part is my eyes still hurt and he said it could take several days for them to clear up.
Jan~we delivered blood in Branson today and thought about you, I am so tired I just wanted to get home. Maybe next time we get a run that way we can get together. I think we are supposed to have a chance for rain for the next couple of days, you know I watch the news but hardly ever remember what the weather man says.
Susan~am doing pretty good with the liquid diet. I did like you all said and got plenty of sf popsickles and if I even think about eating something I get one or two and go in another room to eat them.
Bec~We used to have chickens and loved watching them, we did have a hen that set on and hatched three chicks, it was really something to watch her when the other hens were around her.
We had to move her out of the coup and put her in a dog house by our kitchen that way she could have peace and quiet with her babies. I really enjoyed my chickens they all had personalities and kept us in eggs for quite a while.
Barbara~ Congrats on your anniversaries. How awesome that you have two really important events to celebrate in the same month.
Razz~Glad you are doing good, you know we can't all remember everything after all we are human, good thing you figured out what the pain med are for.
Lana~You are in my prayers for your PS. Am looking forward to seeing you in June at the meeting. I guess you could say an all new you.
Jo~It's great to give back to the community, I know you will feel so good for participating. We finally got some rain today, not a whole lot but a good watering. I sort of agree with the Nurse but if they can't find something causing the pain it could be the nerve is the problem. I have heard of Nerves that send the wrong signal to the brain, don't really know much more than what I've heard, but seems like the Dr.'s would be able to determine if it is just the nerve.
Well everyone, am gonna post this and try to go to bed early, I am on call tomorrow and am hoping I have to work. Am really getting back in the groove.
Love you all, Hope everyone has a good week end.
