Hi, Mama Jan & MO Peeps!!

Well, it rained here last night.  Was cloudy today in the high 60's.  The sun did shine just a little.  The rest of this week was beautiful and in the 80's.  The only bad thing has been the wind and all the pollen!  I'm doing okay but my Mom has had a hard go of it.  She went to the doctor this afternoon and she has bronchitis.

Aunt Fredia is MRSA FREE!!  I truly believe that God above healed her!!  She is finally in a rehabilitation hospital for her knee therapy.  She had double knee replacement on February 17th and had been in 3 different hospitals!  I try to call her everyday.  Each day she seems to be stronger.  Thank you to those who have been praying for her.  Please continue to pray for her recovery.  They think she'll be in rehab at least another 4 to 6 weeks.

I have another family member, Linda, who is still really sick.  They now believe she had some type of viral brain infection.  She is out of the coma and has been transferred back to a nursing home in Mountain Home, AR.  She doesn't know anyone.  She's in her middle 60's and one of the sweetest people you would ever meet.   Please keep her in your prayers as well.

I've been doing pretty good.  Had a really bad dumping episode Wednesday night.  Took my Mom out shopping at Macy's then went to Cracker Barrel.  We decided to share a slice of their famous Coca Cola Cake and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.  I ate about 5 bites of the cake and 1 bite of the ice cream.  On the way home I started getting sooooo sick!  Thankfully, I made it to my house before the foamies got me.  David had to get out of bed (it was around 10:30pm) and take Mom home for me.  I've only had about 3 of those episodes since my rny 3 years ago.  Boy, it was miserable!  The next morning I felt like I had been on a drunken spree.  Was HORRIBLE!!  I'm going to the Women of Joy Conference next weekend in Branson so I'm going to have to mind my p's and q's...don't want to sick there!!

Speaking of the Women of Joy Conference.   We still have 2 extra tickets to the Conference.  You would be staying with 2 other ladies from our church.  Actually it's 1 lady from our church and 1 of her long time friends.  Patty (the lady from our church) is in her late 50's and is an RN.  She is such a great person.  We hate to see these tickets go to waste.  Our leader (who can't go now) has already paid for these tickets.  They are $94 each.  They include 2 nights stay at the Best Western and all the events associated with the conference.  If any of you would be interested, please pm me and I'll give you more information.  Might even be able to reduce the price...like I said...HATE to have these tickets go to waste!

David and Jake just left for the Shot Gun Camp Out in Junction City this weekend.  Luke is home for the weekend, however, he's been staying at Baker with some of his HS Friends.  I told him I had planned on having a "man" free weekend!  He was just home last weekend for goodness sake!  To tell you the truth, he had a mandatory meeting for one of his jobs here in town last night so that's why he's home.  Plus that and to do his laundry.  I told him it was okay if he was here but I wasn't going to be cooking and I didn't want any other guys here.  He brought home 3 of his fraternity brothers last weekend and his friend Brad.  We fed them Nachos and Tacos.  We had a great time visiting with them.  However, sometimes, just sometimes, Mama's need some time by THEMSELVES!  I rented 3 movies from Red box so will probably watch 1 or 2 of them tonight while I finish up our laundry.

I'm sitting in my office and there is so much paper work that I want to SCREAM!!  I've already told David he's going to have burn most of this stuff because my shredder would die if I tried to shred all of it!  I thought we were suppose to be going to a "paperless" society!?  Well, I don't see any evidence of that in my office!!

David's job is going good.  He's suppose to be hired on as a regular W2 employee around June 1st.  Please keep praying all goes as planned!  Our COBRA runs out the end of June.  Would be nice for him to have a regular job!  God has been so good to our family...we're doing okay...just would make it "feel" better if he had a regular job.

Well, guess I'd better scoot.  I need to try and balance my checkbook.  Anybody got any good ideas on how to balance it?  I've tried throughout the years and it just never seems to happen.  It's beginning to DRIVE ME CRAZY!

Then again, I think my hormones are getting the best of me.  I haven't had a period since July so only have 3 more months to go then I'll be "officially" on menopause.  Does it ever get better?  I'm not on any type of hormones.  Would really like some advice from those of you who are going thru it or have already went thru it.  Please, please, any advice and/or suggestions about coping with menopause would be greatly appreciated!

Hope everyone has a GREAT weekend!

Debbie D.

P.S.  Mama Jan, I LOVED the pictures of your spring flowers you posted on FB.  If only I were there to smell them too!!  I'm glad you had a good visit with Bec.  She is a wonderful person!

Debbie are you not going to get any free time this time down? would love to meet you for at least a Hi and Hug if you have time.  No shopping this time?
Wish you could spend some time over at my house looking and smelling the flowers ....
Dont really know anything about menopause really....I had surgery in my late 30s and was pushed into it fast , was on hormone replace ment for about 2 years and then took myself off and was fine.
So glad that your Aunt is doing better....and her therapy is going well...will keep her in my prayers still ...
Hope you and the ladies have a great retreat this week end.

Hi OH,

Gonna make this short, I am so tired. Had a pretty busy week.

Jan~Am going to look at your pics on FB. Can't wait to see your beautiful yard. Really strange but our coffee maker quit on us yesterday, used our camp percolator, but decaf just doesn't taste as good done that way. This morning I banged on the coffee maker and it came on so am using it til next month. I would like to find and old Pyrex percolator. My mom had one forever and never had any problems with it.

Razzmuffin~This is a great place to get support, keep hanging in there, having a teenage daughter is not an easy thing, and I'm sure after your surgery she will be happy to see you get well and start feeling better. I start my liquid diet on Monday. I know the first few days will be the hardest.

Susan~Start liquids on Monday, thought I had been panicky earlier, I have spent today almost obsessing about food. Glad we got sugar free jello, I made 2 boxes so it's there when I'm craving, already had some. I think I may be white knuckling it for the first few days.

Will definitely be at the May meeting. Am really looking forward to it.

Cheryl~So glad you are feeling better. You really do have a full plate and then some. It's sometimes a real blessing though when you are busy, just make sure and make time for yourself.

Deb~Good to hear you aunt Fredia is better, Sorry that another member of your family is ill, and will keep her in my prayers. You do realize that even after our sons grow up, until they are married with their own homes, they will come home so MOM can take care of them. My oldest son comes home for dinner most nights and we do his laundry. He's not married, but is the father of one beautiful little girl, and I get to spoil her, so I don't mind helping him out.

Well gonna post this and go to bed, am dispatching tonight. Hope everyone has a good week end.

Good Evening My Mo Friends...

Yes!! Mimi I am jealous of you getting to ride on that wonderful machine of yours... but it is a good jealously... I wouldn't get a single weed pulled if that bad boy was mine! ~tee hee  You go on ahead and take all the rides you can. And go on ahead and take that biker dude  of yours with you! ~tee hee I'm so happy you two have that to enjoy.

I have been busy busy busy planting all the wonderful things you gave me... I planted the daffodils at the corner of the fence posts, the iris at the base of  a cut off tree trunk, the passion vine on a trellis out by the light pole with the hybrid lilies around the base, the holly hock by the garden shed, have been watering the lilac since I have to have Paul over with the post hole digger...hopefully tomorrow... but if not maybe Monday or Tuesday the plant is looking very good... I added a bit more dirt to it so it would be stable.  I have great hopes for it...~ha  I have even gotten the tomato pots stirred, topped off and planted... I know it is early but I have a great way of covering them if it frosts... so hopefully they will get a good start?  Also got the beet bed planted too... corn, squash, beans, etc. I even got some sweet potatoes and put them in water to see if I could get a plant started... got on the Internet to see how most do it... would be nice if they did well... we will see.  Still have a good days work out there to do yet with the plants... going early in the morning to get the rest of my bedding plants and a few pepper plants.  Mulch is on sale for 1.99 a bag so will pick up enough to get me thru the fall too.  I am going to try and get the weed paper and mulch on my maters this weekend yet too.  Those violets that you pull up as weeds that I planted on the corner of the house are beautiful! They are blooming so prettily.  Thank you again for all the wonderful starts of the various things I will think of you every time I stroll around and enjoy all that beauty!

Susan ~ boy does that grass grow fast!  Since Paul replanted ours he lets it get taller before he cuts it so ours always looks like it needs cut... I like it cut shorter so it last longer... but know it's better if you don't cut it too short... I have scads of yard work still to do even though I've gotten alot done already.  I sure enjoyed meeting your "children" they all had such personalities.  I know you love them dearly...

Jeanie Rae ~ I will be thinking and praying for you as you do the liquid diet... boy oh boy it won't be long now till you will look back and be several months out already... it truly does go by fast.... even though it may not seem like it now.  Best of best wishes to you.  My momma had one of those percolators when I was growing up... it was white with a blue cornflower on it... remember it bubbling up in the glass knob on the top... good memory.  I hope you and Jan find just what you are looking for.

Cheryl ~  Wow lady you are a busy woman!  Sorry to hear you had some bad days this week...hopefully they are all over and on to good days!  Keep your chin up and take one thing at a time and you will fit it all in I'm sure.  Strength and blessings to you.

Razz ~ Welcome.  It's nice to get to know you a bit.  My very best wishes to your up coming surgery! You will simply be amazed at what you can do when you lose the weight... IT'S WONDERFUL!!!

Jo ~ I'm so sorry about your shed being vandalized and putting your dh to all that extra work... that's just too bad.... boy people can be so mean!  I am tracking my food intake real close too... I'm not used to writing EVERY thing down even drinks and as small a thing as the 10 calories in Crystal Lite... a pain but good for me I guess.  I'm trying to drink 100 oz of water a day too and that's just NOT fun!  Before surgery I drank like a fish... due to diabetes and now I can hardly stand to drink all tha****er... but know I have too... Enjoy those young ones, it's so nice to hear folks say there are well behaved kids.

Debbie Darl'n ~ it was good to see you post.  I am so glad to hear Freda does not have the infection!!!  That is wonderful! And am so sorry to hear Linda is in such bad shape... will continue to pray for both ladies.  Enjoy your time this weekend... I never seem to be in your situation but then I have girls too... I'm sure it makes a difference! ~ha  I'm glad you made yourself get out and go to the gym... I always feel better when I have my exercise done for the day too.

Sorry about the terrible dumping episode... have not had one that bad but hear others say they are just terrible.  Enjoy your time at the conference... I hope you are refreshed and blessed by it.

Have been praying David will get on permanent with his job and that he is happy in it.

Well it's nearly midnight and I better get to bed as I want to be at the store by 7:00 am. Early bird gets the worm you know! ~tee hee

Blessings to you all and have a great weekend!
