Well I started on the journey to Plastic Surgery. I had my one yr follow up with Dr Hornbostel this week. it has been a few weeks past a year, I cant hardly believe that. in March I went to my PCM here at Fort Leonard Wood and requested a referral for plastics because of the back and hip pain I have from the extra skin. Tri Care gave me the referral so I guess I have accomplished step 1. Now for the hard part getting the rest approved.

They originally had sent me to a gal in Jeff cit, but when I called her the receptionist said she was closing her office and no longer taking patients. Was kind of bummed on that one. So I called for other providers. They tried to send me to Columbia, but after the trip to Sedalia after surgery and back, I didnt really think riding on a  curvey MO road sounded like much fun.

So they referred me to a Dr in St Louis, A Marissa Tenenbaum.... Was wondering if anyone had ever used her or had any luck. The other names that Tri Care gave me seemed to stick to doing Opthomolgy plastic surgery. I am not to worried about that, and dont think they will be too successful at the tummy and thighs and hopefully arms.

So my appointment is set for 29 April. I hope all goes well.

Susie sorry to hear about yours being cancelled, you have had a heck of a time with this whole thing. I hope things start to go your way. & hope to see you on the 17th for our meeting.

Have a great day everyone!!

I hope your luck will be better with plastics . Tricare is hard to predict sometimes. I can say they paid for me to see more than one surgeon but didn't approve the surgery. The rules have changed and since april 1 tricare payments have dropped 20 % so some doctors are not taking it anymore.
I go to KC on the 22nd to see about a few procedures. I am going to let them practice on me. I went to Columbia and didn't like them at all.
