How long from the time of the seminar does it take to get the 1st appointment and to have a surgery date?  I am going to the May 2nd seminar and was wondering what month could I be looking at for a surgery date.  Thanks for any info!!

It really depends on how quickly you can get your medical records together.  I had copies of all
tests done for the past 2-3 years, EKG's and Angiographies, copies of thyroid biopsi...etc.  I scheduled appt for Physco exam and got reference letters from orthopaedic DR.  My PCP had
this same surgery in 2005 so she started me on all the vitamins I needed post op and
already had record of weight control.  I went to his seminar in Feb. and I  didn't send my  paperwork
until end of April cause I had biz in another state.  They called me within 2 weeks and
scheduled an appointment with Dr. H for July.  At the appt. He scheduled my surgery for
9/11.  It only took that long because I held off between seminar and return to Mo .
I had actually gone to a seminar in Columbia and didn't like the fact that there was no
doctor present.  They were informative but not as detailed as Dr. H's seminar.  He actually
holds his own seminar.  He educates you in detail (including pictures he draws on board) and
really, is so thorough that I had very few questions to ask.  He told us what to expect and
gave us a binder leading us through each stage of surgery and recovery.  He , again, explained it
at first meeting.  His wife is his admin and she is very knowledgeable as well.  I never had
to do anything with my insurance.  They took care of all that.  I saw him week after surgery,
one month, three months and have apt for 6 mos.  He is very involved both before and after.  He is  accessible because he gives you his office phone, cell phone and his wife's cell phone and
his home phone.  Glad he was (is) the Doctor  I chose.  He will follow for 5 years.  Hope this
helps.  It all depends on how promptly you supply all information needed.  Good luck

I had NO idea that I had to have the medical records for him....I assumed that my referring Dr. would take care of that since he has refered me.  I am a military dependant and thought since Tricare approved it they also had access to my records that they can just fax them to the Dr.

I am tricare also. You can get all your testing done at a base. Dr H will give you his requirements at the seminar. Once he has all the paperwork you will get an appointment. I had to have a letter of medical necessity from my pcm. This is to submit to tricare. Any blood work or any other tests you have had recently(a year or two) send him copies. You will need to see a psych person also. You can self refer for that and Dr H will submit it for you. Once they have everything they send it to tricare and it moves fast from there.
