HEY WHATS HAPPENING

What did you all do yesterday? It was sure cold ...the temp wasnt so bad but that wind and then there wasnt much sun so it made for a cold day outside.
When i went outside it was to the green house. I gather together all my bigger prettier pots and filled most of them with the flowers i bought on Saturday. The bigger pots have 2 or 3 in them and i will also put some vines or spikes or something else in them....i like for my potted things to be very full and running over lol

Sure wish i could have even gotten more of the geranimus  but i gues i got plenty lol im just anxious to have flowers. I will have to buy that many or more impatients....i dont have much luck getting them to grow from seeds. The seeds are very very tiny and i cant see where i put them i think...lol
two years ago i had a big old double wash tubs filled with impatients and i had excess straw lfeft over when i covered stuff so i put some in the top of those tubs and do you know they came but like crazy in there. i guess they dropped their seeds in there ....i dont know how the seeds survived the cold but they did. and it was beautiful ...I was having to take some of them out because it was too full.
Went out looking at stuff yesterday and my Hostas are all coming up....They should be really big and pretty this year. also the coral bells are up and have leaves on them good. as do the primrose and all the liliys are starting to poke thru the ground...oh boy im getting anxious...i love the spring time it is like waiting for babies to be born lol   i guess only another gardener could really understand that ....

Today i have to work and then tomorrow morning i have to be in Springfield to the orthopedic surgeon by ten ...hopefully he and I can come to some agreement about my leg. and what he will do for it...I have already contacted a Physical Therapist and he says there isnt anything that he can do to straighten it out. so i know that isnt an option. if it was just crooked and didnt bother anything it would be ok...not that vane but it is throwing off my balance and makes the hip on the other side really hurt. plus when i get tired my foot starts to drag and has caused me to stumble several times.
all but falling. I dont want to fall and break something. I really dont want to have surgery at this time right now either because this is the time of year that i love to be out planting and dont know how i would do that i would just die to not be able to plant stuff ....but maybe i could have a planting day and get all my friends to come and help...just wouldnt be the same tho.

Oh someone ask if we were going to have a week retreat or boot camp...that would be fine with me.
what we can do is all stay in the rental house. It has lots of empty rooms. and everyone could bring a air mattress and covers. there is a stove and fridge in there ...only one bathroom but we can all share...anyway this way it would be like a big sleep over ...I am hoping i can see my way to get a pool and get it sit up and the water warm by the end of may ...so what do you all think. and give me a head count of who would come and for how long ,,,,a week or a week end. which ???

We had sun off and on and in the evening, full sun shining in the living window and door.  Love the new full glass storm door.  It was wonderful sitting in my chair reading by the sunlight.  It's sunny today and supposed to get to about 62.

The meatloaf muffins were very good.  The recipe I've used forever has tomato sauce in it, but this recipe didn't have any tomato in it.

Jan, I think it's so odd how our tastes change after surgery.  Before surgery I like most vegetables and now they just don't taste good, especially green beans.  I cook the green beans the way I've always cooked them.

I made Quinoa (sp?) and added fruit.  Haven't tried it yet but it's my mid-morning snack.  Also made Rhubarb-Strawberry sauce.  I have lentils for lunch.  We have food for all week.  I was so tired after cooking all afternoon and my fridge is overloaded.

Where is Lou?  She must be lost in taxes.

Hi All ...

Thought I better check in as it's been a few days... things are busy around here right now... have had lots of company and lots of projects going on...

Went to the new Menard's yesterday afternoon and came home with another "project" for Paul... he is going to make me a raised beet bed.  My soil here is so dense that it's hard for beets to grow good so I got 10 bags of sand to mix in the soil for the bed....pickled beets are one of my very very fav's. I got the landscaping timbers for $1.88 a piece... a great deal! and sand for $1.50 a bag! oh yeah!

Jo ~ another "project" for Paul is installing a full view storm door on the front of our house as well.  It was another trip I made in town for "barn" supplies with Paul... he's going to quit taking me ~ha  He says every time I go with him he comes home with more work! ~tee hee I really do feel sorry for him... he has more work than he can possibly get done any time soon. But I'm willing to wait! ~ha  I'm looking forward to having the front door open too.  The added light is great.

Mimi~ I'm envious of all the good buys you got on the flowers.  My kids each brought me a nice BIG pot of hyacinths, they are smelling up the house so wonderfully and they are just beautiful!  I sure have been blessed by them... two beautiful pots of blue and one of the pink!  They are one of my very favorite spring flowers!

I've been watching to see when my hostas are coming up I think the "ladies" scratched them to non~existence! "The Biddies" ~tee hee

As far as I know I can come to the bootcamp most anytime you want to have it... except the first weekend in June. I think tying it in with your support group meeting would be great.

I have lots and lots of work to get done this week as I'm having 21 of Paul's family in for Easter... big meal on Saturday and then some are staying over and going to church with us on Sunday... will be left overs on Sunday as I have 30+ recipes picked out ... not sure how many of them I will get done but it will be a big meal that's for sure.

Doing yard work and misc work today and tomorrow and then shopping on Wednesday, house work on Thursday and cooking on Friday.

Going to make "favors" for my guest to take home and a couple of crafts as drawing prizes.  Hopefully it will be fun for them... also, "gator" rides and an Egg hunt for the kids.  Have to get my gator spit polished for Saturday as it's got some mud on it... I have been doing yard work with it... it's so nice and handy... love that gator!!!  I speed around all over the place on it!  I'm liking this warmer weather... much more comfortable ride for sure! ~ha

Andy and Susan ~ I'm so looking forward to your visit next week!  Will be so nice to catch up a bit.

Jeanie Rae ~ had to chuckle about that "bitty" comment! too funny... I use that "term" quite often as it applies to other than being a bit grouchy! ~tee hee

Debbie Darl'n ~ My family failed to tell me you called till way "after the fact".  Am so glad you are back home and pray you get rested all up and feeling fresh and ready for Easter!
So glad to hear your Aunt Freda is getting better too! My prayers continue for her speedy recovery.

Am thinking of all the ones that have not been on in a while, praying all are well and being blessed.

Better get my booty in gear and get some more of this work done... since Paul put up the fence it enlarged the yard a bit making more clean up that needs to be done, also have to redo my hydrangea bed that the "ladies" tore up... that's the 3rd time I've had to fix it. Have to take the staw back off the strawberries too and get my fountain going, also clean out the leaves from the rock beds around the house... golly I'm tired just "thinking" about all that.

Have a wonderful week, get out and enjoy this weather if you can at all.

Good Afternoon Mama Jan & MO Peeps:

Mom and I got home last night around 9pm.  I have literally slept all day!  I just got up and took a shower and go dressed a few minutes ago and it's 3:00pm!!  I know that I will probably be wiped out this week.  However, I am so glad we got to go spend some time with Aunt Fredia.  We rented an apartment which was only a block away from St. Vincent's there in Little Rock.  My cousins Kim & Wayne (Fredia's kids) came and stayed with us 4 nights and 5 days while we were there too.  That's one of the reasons I really thought the Lord wanted us to go so that they would have somewhere to stay close to their Mother.  They all live in Mountain Home and it's a 3 hour drive to Little Rock.

We got to the hospital around 8p on Friday 3/19.  When we got to her room she was asleep and looked really, really bad.  I wasn't sure we should wake her.  But my Mom went over there and kissed her on the forehead.  Fredia woke up and looked at Mom and said "Do I know you?"  My Mom answered, "I don't know.  Do you?"  I then said "Fredia May, what are you doing!?"  Fredia then looked at me and laughed and said why Billie & Debbie!  She was really glad to see us.  We only stayed a few minutes that night.  The rest of the week we all took turns sitting with her.  You had to wear a gown and gloves every time you went into to room.  She still has MR-SA.  We are thankful that the wound is healing and it looks like she will get to go home around April 9th.  She will still have a PIC line in for her antibiotics and will have a home health care nurse come in a few times a week as well as a physical therapist for her knees.  They thought she might have Osteomylitis which is a serious infection in her bones.  We are thanking the Lord that the test came back negative and she doesn't have it!

The hospital said she may never completely get rid of MR-SA.  Do any of you know more about it.  I've been reading how serious of a staph infection it is and how very careful you have to be not to contact it from her.  Please keep her and her family in your prayers.  My cousin, Kim, is my age and her brother Wayne is 45.  Wayne is disabled.  He had a brain tumor when he was 16 and wasn't expected to live, however, they removed it and he took chemo and radiation.  He survived but it took a terrible toll on him.  He still suffers from seizures and just recently had a stroke.  Kim is a mess and I am truly worried about the care Fredia will receive when she gets home.  I did get to talk to Kim about the Lord while we were there.  She is a control freak and you can barely get in 2 words when you talk to her.  She talks 90 to nothing and is so loud.  Yes, she has always been that way!  She has a 13 year old boy to and her and her husband have been separated for over 8 years.  Her husband is a mess too.  I could go on and on but I will just ask that you lift this entire family up to the Lord in your prayers.

We were planning on coming home Friday from Little Rock.  However, my Uncle Larry (Mom & Fredia's brother) wanted us to come stay a few days with him in Mountain Home.  We did and I'm glad we did.  We got to see almost the entire family.  Plus Uncle Larry has a new granddaughter Kaylynn who is only 6 weeks old.  I got to hold her, feed her and love on her!  We really enjoyed our couple days stay in Mountain Home.  They all wanted us to stay longer but we had to come home.

I am praising the Lord for something else as well.  Mom and I spent over a week together and only had one argument!  I believe the Lord used this time to bring us closer together!  I love my Mom but the last few years we haven't been very close.  Please continue to pray that we will remain close now that we are back home.

Thank you for your prayers.  I love each of you and I wish I could address each of you as Mama Jan does, I just can't.  My brain won't do it.

I've gotta go.  Jake's back has been hurting him and he's gonna get a deep tissue massage today.  We've gotta go.

Love,

Debbie D.

Good afternoon OH,

Well the Sun is shinning and it looks pretty outside, but I think it's still a little cool.

Jan~went to the grocery store in Mansfield yesterday, and it the wind was so cold, it felt like one of those late Autumn storms blowing in. Blew my mini van all over the highway. We were gonna burn the trash that was cleaned up out of the yard but wind was just way too strong.

So glad to read about your gardening again, you really sound like you are back in your zone. Am definitely gonn make a trip down there soon to see you work.

I'd like to come to the boot camp, whatever works for the rest of the group, I can work around. Sure hope your doctor gets your knee straightened out, I can't imagine working on it like you do, guess I'm just a wimp.

Well, not much going on here, just waiting right now til next tuesday, will know my date and be working toward that.

Hope everyone has a good week, gonna close for now, will talk to ya all later.

What a wonderful day today. I love this weather. Its gonna  be a great week.

I won't be working much longer except for subbing now and then. No full time in my future right now. Budget cuts are stopping that. I am thinking of going back to school. Not sure DH will go for that. I think he would rather I just retire and stay home. I have the summer to decide. I am disappointed but not heart broken. I stay pretty busy just subbing but it doesn't pay much at all. I could just keep getting plastic surgery  and I won't be able to work. HA. DH wouldn't like that.

Hope you all have a wonderful week.
Susie
