WHATS HAPPENING THURSDAY

Well it looks like i did open a can of worms but that is ok ....we are all entitiled to our thoughts on what ever the debate is over. the thing that i dont like about all of this about the insurance bill is that no one will be honest and tell us what it says. NO ONE...maybe its because they cant even read it and make heads or tails out of it. and to me that says dirty work...when it is so complicated that no one will really say what it says then it isnt good. if it was really good then it would have all been printed in common words and no double talk so that the ordinary person could pick it up and read it and know what it says. now like everything else that is just my opinion...lol

i just think our country is trying to make everyone equal and that cant happen in a democracry only in a socialist government and even then it isnt every one equal ,,,the big shots are all the rich and everyone else has to be equal. but you wont see them giving up their pleasures and money ....
im for helping the needy and the poor , that is the Christian thing to do. but is it right to take more and more away from the people that work to give it to the ones that wont work??? NO it isnt. If a person truely cant work then by all means they should have their NEEDS taken care of not their wants but their needs. but im sure that everyone of us know people that want the government to totally take care of them....they apply for and get all sorts of free things....and the ones that pay for it are the workers not the government the government gets their money from the workers. maybe if we all quit working it would fix all of that. lol wonder what would happen then.

anyway it isnt because there wasnt people saying we dont want this and they went ahead and passed it anyway. they think they can do this and then the people are so stupid that they will go ahead and vote for me again next time anyway. Is the american public that dumb? i really dont think they are. I hope they will show what they meant when they said dont pass that and they did anyway...
i hope none of them that voted for it have a job with the next election. not because it passed but because they didnt listen to the American people they say that 65percent of voters didn NOT want the health bill to pass. we will see if they stand by what they wanted when the election comes around. i dont know ...

anyway on a brighter note....my daughter Michele called me and said they got an apartment she said it is beautiful, with fireplace, and all new and fresh with 2 swimming pools and a exercise room and the apartment has washer and dryers in it...
plus she got a job as a waitress in the fanciest mexican place in town. everyone says that the waitresses there make great money. she wont want to do it for long but it is money for right now.
she has to serve alchol and in Texas anymore they make all waitresses and any one that handles alcohol get a liq.lic. weird huh?
she is all excited. she is wanting that pretty yellow bedroom linins that they have been showing on tv. so i think i will send her a wal mart gift card.

hoping to get some things planted this week end if it doesnt rain all week end long. going to Wickmans on Friday to get some geranimens. they have them at a really good price.
have lots and lots of pots and flower beds to plant.

Joe went over and got another truck load of horse poop and put on the back part of the garden when the chickens will be staying. cause i want Joe to close off the front door of the coop and then we will shut the gate between the two sides. they will wonder what in the world we did to them lol

well since i stired the pot some more i guess i will close. and im so glad that all of you expressed your thoughts. They are special because you all are special. and i value everyones opinions. that is how friends thinK , friends dont have to be a carbon copy of you in thoughts and ideas. we still can love each other for who we each  are.

jan we can get our check when jenny gets there thats about 8:30am i've already got mine and into the bank, i know how it is going from one hand to another, its always gone before the day is out but we're so thankful for the income.  Our schedule is not like the nurses, we are on a fixed schedule work 4 days off 2 so its hard to ask for off a certain day because someone else has to fill in then i end up losing a days pay.  I wont be at the aprils group either but will be there at mays group cuz im off that day.  thanks so much for the eggs, if you bring them by the house andy will be there. talk to ya later

Hi Jan, I confess that I haven't gone back and read all the posts regarding the health care bill controversy on here but I decided to put my .02   (if it's even worth that ! lol)   I read numbers about 50/50 on for against health care reform. I guess the thing that upsets me about it all is that the majority of people (that I've spoken to) that are hollering the most against it, are people that HAVE insurance...(.nice to be able to have it for whatever reason , be it medicare, medicaid work related etc etc)  Everyone is so worried about what might happen to our benefits that we forget people who don't have any health care. Let me tell you why I feel this way...my 19 yr old son who is in college had ins. through health wave...something I'm sure many of you have children/grandchildren on.  anyhow, at age 19 on their b-day, they are immediately cut off of that program, so now he has NO ins. whatsoever...wouldn't you know it one month later he has severe stomach pains , I am forced to take him to the ER , where he was diagnosed after several tests with inflamed intestines..fast fwd, he got a bill now for almost 7000 , this kid is making good grades, never has been in any trouble, just happened to get sick with no ins. and now will probably have bad credit before he can even buy a beer....why??  we have the greatest health care, the greatest country in the world...why shouldn't all American citizens in a country as evolved as ours consider health care a basic human right? you know when medicare, social security (amongst other programs) was enacted, the same outrage happened, everyone was so against it...until they needed it. Fact is most people who are uninsured are working people. Funny thing is ,back in the day say 50 years ago, most people didn't have insurance at all, people paid cash (, a reasonable amt,  to see a Dr) then along came the ins. companies , and the medical costs skyrocketed while the companies got rich. I am not for socialism anymore than anyone else..in fact I consider myself a republican on most things, but the fact is I am sick of people dying or having to use the emergency room for non emergencies because they can't afford to go to a reg. Dr without ins...it's sickening that it has become all about republican vs democrat      England Canada and many industrialized country have universal health care , and they are not bankrupt...I know that their systems have flaws but it's better then nothing, our great country can and should be able to do better, Do you know who has spent the most money fighting the bill? spreading fear, propaganda, and downright lies???  the INSURANCE companies that's who...wonder why?    I sure don't mean to offend anyone with opinions differen't than mine, and I would hope that we would all be able to act better than the idiots in washington...you know like adults having a difference of opinion.

People are complaining because they are going to have to pay for it. I know everyone needs health care, my children do not have insurance and can't afford it. They will be helped by this bill but I will have to pay much more.Watch prices go up for everything and everywhere. I am exempt because I have gov't care now with the military and its not all that great. Its almost impossible to get appointments or outside doctors who will accept the low payments. I just do not think the gov't has the right to tell me I have to buy something and help everyone else pay for theirs. Just my humble opinion.

you are right, I don't think that the gov. has a right to tell me I HAVE to purchase anything...that includes car insurance, cars with seatbelts , helmuts...you get the general idea, if the plan works the way it's supposed to, then what you pay will be based on income...like I said "supposed" to. You know when I first started working, it was common to have insurance through your job, now it seems like alot of employers deliberetly won't give full time hours to employees , they would rather have 2 part timers then 1 full time they have to give ins. to. I know it is scary and there will be alot of bugs that need worked out....the same went for many gov.t programs when they were first introduced, but I am glad that something was finally done, for my kids and yours. Let's see what a year or so will bring...hopefully it won't be as bad as people might be thinking.....glad you responded, it's nice that we are able to discuss it withouit trying to firebomb anyone   hugs, Susan

More rain, cloudy....ugh.  At least no snow in the forecast and it is warmer.

Saturday we're going with a tour group to Walnut, KS.  I may have mentioned it.  There's a chicken restaurant there that is well known for their food and they put on a show.  Not sure what I will be able to eat.  I know it's chicken don't know how it's prepared.  I don't eat fried food at all and it doesn't even sound good.  I'm taking some healthy snacks with me.

I've not read the entire healthcare bill but have read parts of it.  With so many people against it, why was it passed anyway?  Seems like it needed more work.  It is a shame that people *****ally need health care and have no insurance can't get it.  My sister doesn't have insurance and had a mild heart attack a few years ago.  For the ER and a couple days in the hospital, her bill was $25K.

There are those that milk the system, don't work and don't want to, but there are so many that are hardworking and just can't afford it.  Medical facilities have agreements with the insurance companies and take much less than originally billed, but if you have no insurance you are billed the full amount.  If they can reduce their charges for insurance companies, they should reduce them for the uninsured.

My WLS surgeon charges $25K for RNY, but he got about half that from my insurance company.  I paid a co-pay of $100.

I have good insurance but retirement isn't in my near future because I can't afford to buy supplemental insurance and Medicare wouldn't cover my husband's needs.  I don't have any health problems right now, but that can change.
