hoping this is the right place...

I am a pre-op, I can officially say that now !!! I got my approval letter, and have my pre-op class scheduled for April 14th, and start my 2 week liquid diet on April 7th !!  No date yet, but was assured they wouldn't have me doing a pre-op diet for a month....that wasn't funny. Anyway, I live in Illinois, tried the Illinois boards but everyone lives in Chicago :( ... I live 10 miles from St. Louis and was hoping this was a good place for me to be.  Are there lot of St. Louis people here? I will be looking for support groups and such, wanna be as successful as I can with my weightloss surgery. My family is behind me and very enthusiastic about me getting healthy, but I know they can't possibly grasp what is really happening even having good information. SO, if its okay, I will be hanging around here gathering info and making friends.

 I am not near St Louis but welcome to the Missouri board. We are here for everyone and will help answer any questions.The liquid diet is tough, or at least for me it was. It got much easier for me after that. Good luck.

Welcome!! You are in the right place!! I am from the other side of St Louis! Will you be going to the support groups in Bridgeton? I go to them as I had my surgery at DePaul!

Welcome... So happy for you that you already have approval!  I'm not from the St. Louis area either but you can gain a wealth of information and friends right here.  I have been so blessed to have met many wonderful people here, learned so much, and found support like I could not get in other places.

Ask all the questions you need to and can think of, an informed person is more likely to succeed.  This certainly is a life changing decision and will take hard work and dedication on your part but the benefits are so totally awesome!  Best wishes to you start this incredible journey!

I'm on the other side of the state in Raytown, just outside Kansas City.  So, welcome to Missouri!!

The liquid diet was rough but I did it.  I supplemented the protein drinks with SF popcycles and SF Jello.  Whatever you have to do to get the surgery is worth it.
