New Betty Update

 I spoke to Betty last night but couldn't get online to post or I would of..  Please keep her in your prayers...  she is really having alot of pain...  

She went down to have her leak test done yesterday and was in so much pain she could hardly make it back to her room... unfortunately by the time she got back to her room the barium dye was already coming out in her JP drain so she has developed a leak.

She is saying that she is NPO will be there til at least Thursday now.  

Due to the complexity of her surgery (it was supposed to only last 2 1/2 - 3 hours but went over 5 hours, she is having severe pain issues.  She told me last night that the surgeon told her that she had two fistulas, one on either end of the intestine where all the previous surgery was done 5 years ago.  That coupled with the fact that she basically had to have the surgery redone due to complete staple line disruption has in dealing with some pretty severe pain issues.

It is compounded by the fact that her surgery was done open....

She has asked me to post and to please ask for prayers and well wishes...  I am sure that she needs all she can get...  even though many of you do not know her, she is an oldtimer that has a wealth of info. and is just a sweetheart to boot!

I am pre-op and Betty is in my prayers, I can only imagine what she is going through and I pray that her pain subsides and she heals quickly.

I don't know Betty but prayers are offered for her.  Sounds like she is really suffering.  Hope for blessings for her.

Am so sorry to hear Betty is having many difficulties...my prayers are with her as well.

I have been on for several years and I guess I don't remember her either.  What is her user name?  Maybe if I seen her pic I would remember her?

At any rate I wish her the very very best and hope they get her problems worked out, she heals and is better quickly.

Pixi please tell Betty i am praying for her...I met her in St. Louis when i went up there with my sister Sugar for her first seminar there...she is a very sweet girl and hope that eventually things straighten out for her....

Please tell betty she is in our prayer's and the pain leaves her.please keep us updated on her as you can.god bless.susan.

 Let her know even those of us who haven't met her are pulling for her. I am so sorry she is having so many problems. Did the staple line fail early out or recently? I hope she is feeling better soon.

 Thank you all for the thoughts and wishes... I will definitely pass them on to her when I talk to her next.  I am waiting to let her call me as she is feeling so puny right now....   

She will also be able to get online and see the posts once she gets home...

For those that don't know Betty...  she had surgery approx. 5 + years ago...  we are an older breed of regulars that mostly lurk now......  that is why you might not know of her.  We used to be quite active all the time on a daily basis.

She is a doll...  just through and through...   


She had initial success in loosing quite a bit of weight but then it all came to an abrupt halt...  approx. 1-2 years out.. no matter what she did it didn't seem to want to budge.....  so we are now wondering if the disruption was slowly taking place during this time...  we don't know and neither does the surgeon that did the revision.  It was definitely warranted though... other than the bypass (which your body eventually learns to compensate for) she basically had nothing to work with to facilitate further weight loss....

I know that it will do her heart good to know that so many are thinking of her... God Bless her...she is hurting so badly right now...  but I know that she will come through this..and she will just astonish folks with her success... she is that special...
