KU medical center

Hi all, I haven't been on in awhile. I found out that possible ku medical center does the panniculectomy and does accept medicare. I called the plastic surgery dept and they set me up with a  Dr. Ponnuru. I saw someone else mention him in another post, does anyone know how thier billing works? I want so badly to get this removed (panni) it must be 35-40 lb.s of skin and hanging fat, any advice or info on what I might expect?? I am hoping I wasn't steered wrong on the medicare thing, If ku accepts medicare does that mean the dr would also since it is out of the teaching school? I just don't want another wasted, upsetting trip! I know some of you have used a dr. out of Springfield but that is so far for me to travel, if this doesn't work out then I guess I'll bite the bullet and make the trip. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all Susan

I had an extended tummy tuck with Dr. Ponnuru in January and love him. I am happy with his work. I was self pay so can't help with medicare issues. You can call his nurse Jane and ask her she is always willing to help. Their phone number is 913-588-2014. In case you don't know how to pronounce his name it is Pon-new-rue. Hope this helps.

Not too personal, that is what we are on the board for is to help each other. My tummy tuck cost was $2,000.00 for the Dr and $1,200.00 for the surgical center. Can't beat their prices. I did find that they don't do them at the main KU. You have a choice of a surgical center in Overland Park or Kansas Medical Plaza West. The difference in price is double. They wanted 2400 at the surgical center and 1200 at the Medical Plaza West. If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to ask I am always ready to help.
