WHATS HAPPENING SUNDAY
Yesterday was a bit of a drag, didn't do much of anything. was so cold and windy and misty rain that it was like a raw winter day. and i guess officially it is until Sat when it is the first day of Spring.....come on Spring, i think we are all cheering it onward.
i did go out into the green house and pot up some of the tomato plants into larger pots ....hopefully that will hold them until it is warm enough to put them out side. i have got to get a couple loads of good dirt to mix in with the mulch pile to fill up those tomato tubs....I am having Joe to put t-post into the ground by each tub and then i will have a way to tie them up and also when first sitting them out i can cover with plastic without touching the tomatoes if it is going to be too cool for them or late frost. so i will be able to get them out maybe a couple of weeks earlier than i normally would and get a head start on their growing ....
i am getting excited about the garden and flowers this year. One thing i am going to get done this year is build me a cold frame on the south side of the green house. i have the materials just haven't done it yet. it will give me some extra growing room and a way to have some fresh things in the winter. like i can keep lettuce by planting a small patch of it every week and by the time one section is gone the next one will be ready.
we are planning on the other things that we have to get done this year too. the waterfall out front is the big thing , then we have to build another shed or put another lean to type shed onto the other side of the big storage shed. we just have too much outside stuff...we have to have a place for hoses, lumber, all sorts of extra building supplies that we have. wonder if you ever have all the storage room you want or need. we want everything that is in the center shed that isn't Joe's tools to have a different home. that way he will have a work shop and we can fix it up to be more efficient and use able ....as of now if he is going to work on something it is so cramped he has to pull it all outside. also get electric into there for him instead of having to run cords from the green house to his work areas. also we have to get a water line run to the outside of the garden area so we wont have to run hoses so far.
lots of projects , so little time . lol
I told Joe that is what we do all winter is dream up all these projects to do in the Spring , summer and fall. lol but we need more yard boys . funny thing you almost cant pay young men or boys to do a lot of manual labor now days. they have no idea what in the world you would even ask them to do that for. they just cant hang with me for sure. i think i can work circles around most of them now days. My grandson the other day said Mimi how in the world can you work all day long out side. i hardly ever see you stop. whats the secret lol i said i just pace myself and drink lots of water. and i just do it. to me it isn't boring i love it.
the other day i put my pedometer on when i first got up and guess how many steps i took all day? well don't really know it stopped at 9999 steps . so not real sure but that is 5 miles wi**** had been 5 miles all a one time without stopping and going. would make a better difference. but it is still moving instead of sitting lol keeps me flexible if nothing else and with severe arthritis it is the one thing that can cause more pain than anything and that is sitting. and getting stiff. you think because you are in pain it would be better to sit down and not do anything but it sure isn't. besides you gain weight sitting and doing nothing but eating. ask me i know.
when i first started getting a lot of pain from arthritis i quit my daily walks of 5 miles a day. and i started gaining until i got to what i was before surgery 272
All of you that believe in prayer i have a request for my sister in law....she just found out she has stage 3 breast cancer and goes into surgery for a complete removal of her breast. She said she isn't going to have radiation and chemo she has seen what it does to people , Anyway please hold her up in prayer Tuesday if you will. i think if i ever had to have one removed because of cancer i would have the other one taken off at the same time so i wouldn't have chances of it coming back in the other one...the poor little things i have as breasts now it wouldn't matter anyway lol the only way that i know they are breast is the nipple on the end lol
well going to get this posted , I'm working today and have to get around and get things done....
Post away...will answer you today as you post ...have a wonderful Lords day.

Wow, it is so cold and dreary here today! I absolutely HATE it when we spring forward! It messes my already foggy brain up even more! Takes about a week for everything to get back to "normal". I do, however, enjoy the extra day light in the evenings.
Not much planned for today. David and Jake are going to clean our the Town & Country. It needs a really good cleaning. Then it will be all ready for Jake when I get my "new" car Monday. Jake's actually starting to like the idea of having the mini-van! Who would have thought!? lol! Anyway, it's paid for, dependable and the best part it's FREE! :)
The weatherman says it's suppose to warm up a little this week. I hope he's right and I'd love to see some SUNSHINE! Would be horrible if the weather was cold and dreary all week of the kid's spring break then be nice and warm when they had to go back to school. That just wouldn't be right now would it!?
Mama Jan - What's your sil's name? I will pray for her and her family. Is it Joe's sister or would have your brothers wife's? I don't blame her for not taking the chemo and radiation...each one has to make that decision on the own with the help of the Lord.
Susan - How can someone just walk out and not come back when working in a nursing home? That is horrible! But then again, maybe it's the best thing for the patients. I know I worked 3 days as a cna when I was 17 and told the director of nursing I just couldn't come back. A friend of mine and I started on the same day. She only worked one day. I went back for 2 more. The last day I was there, this little old man had pooped and had played in it. We were trying to get it out from under his fingernails and he kept hollering. We were being very careful not to hurt him. Anyways, I was only 17 and that was the end of the line. Then after my shift was over I went out to go home and my car wouldn't start! I called my Dad crying and told him how horrible my day was, he told me that I didn't have to go back. I called the director of nursing that night. I have a special admiration for people who take care of the elderly. The Lord has given them a special gift!! I guess that would include you and Mama Jan! :)
Jeanie Rae - I'm with Mama Jan, where did you get those cute little smiley faces to go into your messages!? I wanna try them! By the way, keep up the good work! The end result will be so worth it all!
Please continue to pray for my Aunt Fredia. They finally transferred her to the University of Little Rock Hospital night before last. That doctor said that it was an infected bedsore that surgeon had opened up and that the surgeon in Mountain Home had went all the way down to the bone! He also said he hoped her infection had not gotten into her joints....especially since she had double knee replacement surgery. He also asked her how long she had that catheter in. It had been in almost ONE MONTH. He said that was way too long so they took that out. He also said they are going to do a skin graph to cover up the hole from where the surgeon in Mtn. Home had went in. Mtn. Home had said it would just have to grow back from the inside out. There are so many other things that Baxter County Hospital did wrong! I am so thankful the Lord had taken care of her and she is finally getting the care she needs. She is still very week but I did talk to her for a few minutes last night. She's the Aunt who brought me home from the hospital a few days after I was born because my Mom had to stay to have her gall bladder taken out. She stayed with me for TWO weeks and took care of me during the day while Dad worked then Dad would take care of me at night. She was pregnant with my cousin, Kim, at the time. Anyways, please keep her and her family in prayer.
Hope all of you have a GREAT Sunday! Remember to thank the Lord for the many blessings He has given to each of us! I count all of you as blessings in my life!
Debbie D.
will keep your Aunt in my prayers. My sister in law is named Karol and is the wife of my brother David.
Has Davids job became permanent yet? i will keep that in my prayers too.
hope your Sunday is good and blessed. you are one of my many blessings too.

Jan, so sorry to hear about your SIL. I have offered a prayer for her. I didn't get on the computer yesterday at all. I had to put everything back in the drawers of my kitchen cabinets.....what a job. I cleaned out as I went. Went to the grocery store. Couldn't believe how much I spent and I bought no meat. My Fage is $6.19 but I love it and I get 4 servings out of it. The almond milk is more expensive than skim milk but milk gives me tummy problems. The almond milk is lower in carbs too.
We worked in my woman cave. Max finally put up the mini blinds at the window and door. I still have a lot to do out there so I can start making me some new spring clothes.
Max went to the hockey game and I had 2 movies so I was planning a nice relaxing "me" evening. SD called and they wanted to go somewhere but Jessica had strep so she wondered if I would watch her. Max didn't think I should but they brought her over. She took her little DVD player in the spare room and watched her movies until she went to sleep. She was no trouble at all. Only thing is they didn't pick her up until 11:15 and that's about an hour past my bedtime.
I watched The Time Traveler's Wife and it was very good, although not really something that really happens. The other movie was with George Clooney, called Up in the Air or something like that. Didn't care for it at all. Too much bad language.
Jan, hope you get answers about your knee. You shouldn't be having problems like that. I'm hoping I can get relief for my hip problem. I've taking Glucosomine Chrondrontin for the last 3 months but it hasn't done anything for my hip pain or the arthritis in my hand.
I dreamed the craziest things last night. Several people brought me large quantities of food, all with pasta. I knew I couldn't eat it but they were all insisting. Then someone gave me a blouse that was a size 2X and that really stressed me out. Guess I've been stressing more than I thought recently about losing the weight.
I bought a 4 pak of Atkins shakes. Hope I like them. I had a coupon for a free Upbeat Milk Beverage so I got a couple. It has 7 g protein and 6 g fiber. Tastes pretty good but don't know if I would buy it again. Without a coupon, it's $1.89 for an 8.5 oz. bottle. Protein powder is much cheaper.
I, too, hate changing the time. Doesn't make sense and no one I talk to likes it so why do we do it?
This afternoon I'm going to work in my room. I'm anxious to get started making some new duds.

I too hate the time changes. all of you that dont know why type in daylight savings time into google it will explain it and why...there really isnt a reason for it. except a supposed gas shortage in the early 70s.
i hope i get some answers about my knee too. i think he should (lick his calf over ) as the sayihg goes lol.
I took Glucomsomine Chriodrotin for years and it didnt help at all with my arthritis. they say it is proven it does but i couldnt tell it did anything.
sometimes i have crazy dreams like that too. now that with someone bringing me big clothes again would frighten me to death lol
I love the Atkins shakes i like the mocha choc one the best. . never hear of Upbeat Milk Beverage.

Hi OH,
The emoticons I have been using are from www.sweetim.com. They are fun, some of them are kind of naughty, but I don't look at those and certainly wouldn't use them.
Jan~You should write a book and use all of the knowledge you have about gardening and landscaping, I'll bet it would be a best seller. I think you are doing the best kind of excercise there is, you stay busy at a steady pace and they are saying that is as good if not better than a fast hard pace all the time. I say keep up the good work, I love reading about your gardening and such.
Will keep you SIL in my prayers, it's good she is taking a stand on the type of treatment she wants.
Personally I don't know what I would choose to do, for me being alive is more important than having boobs, but then they are not young and perky anymore. I hate wearing bras, when I get home from anywhere that's the first thing that comes off. The only reason I wear them is so I don't trip.
Susan~I can't believe how irresponsible people are nowadays, the cna could have at least finished the shift and told someone to replace him. I does take special people to work with the elderly, my daughter did when she first graduated from highschool, she loved the people she worked with and after her favorite passed she left for another type of job.
Like Deb I give KUDOS to you and Jan, you are both special people.
Deb~It's great you are helping your son out with the miny van. So sad that your Aunt was mis-treated that way, but really great that she was taken somewhere to get the treatment she needs. She is also in my prayers, and God Bless you for loving her enough to be concerned and ask for prayers for her.
The web site I got the emoticons from is www.sweetim.com, it's a free download and they have several types of things to use.
Well gonna close and post this for now. Will talk to ya all tomorrow. I counting weeks now till my final consult, before I now it will be days til the surgery.
of course i guess i do have lots of little things that i have tried and found works great. too.
i hate bras too and never wear one at home ....when you dont have anything there is no need to lol ...i do wear a sports bra in the summer when i wear the little t tops so they wont fall out the neck lol ...really they are just empty skin at this point , sometimes i wish i could just have them completly removed and i sure as heck dont want big fake ones put on there...never have been a fan of big boobs on me. just get in my way
thanks all of you for the prayers for Karol.
i am counting the days till your final meeting with the Dr. too. yeah....wont be long now.
