Daily Bible Reading - Tuesday - March 9th
What a reading this morning wasn’t it? In Mark we are just about to get to the death of Jesus, this is one of my favorite parts of the bible, especially the resurrection. No matter how many times I read about Jesus being crucified and raising again it just brings Holy Ghost bumps on me. We see it’s the beginning of the end but in this case the end is only the beginning for us, for Jesus will fulfill the Old Testament scriptures and shed His blood for us so that we, sinners, might have a way out of our sin into eternal life, if THAT isn’t love I don’t know what is. For a second or two you can see that Jesus was just a human like you and I when He cried to His Father to let the cup pass from Him, but then He says, “not my will but yours be done". He knew what was fixin to happen, He had seen others hung on a cross and He knew what misery they went through so we see the human side of Jesus not wanting to go through that if possible but He knew He had too so He tells the Father “not my will but yours be done." At that moment Judas comes and betrays Jesus by turning Him over to the crowd and they arrest Him.
As usual today’s devotional was really good. Speaking about putting limits on ourselves when we dwell on the wrong things in life. I know time after time I have done this in my life and when I come to realize Im not only limiting myself but limiting what I allow God to do in my life. If we can only keep ourselves focused on God’s supernatural we will see that “All things are possible to those who believe".
Today’s Reading
Numbers 11:24-13:33
Mark 14:22-52
Psalm 52:1-9
Proverbs 11:1-3
Daily Devotional
Psalm 119:96
"I have seen that everything [human] has its limits and end [no matter how extensive, noble, and excellent] but Your commandment is exceedingly broad and extends without limits [into eternity]"
Did you know you can limit your life by dwelling on the wrong things? So often, wrong thinking keeps people stuck right where they are. If you think you'll never accomplish your dreams, then you'll stay stuck where you are. If you think you don't have the talent, the connections, or the funds, then you are limiting yourself. We have to remember that God's promises never return void. His Word stands true forever! Don't limit what God can do in your life by focusing on what you see in the natural realm. You have to realize that you serve a supernatural God and just because you don't see a way doesn't mean that God doesn't have a way. God can bring one opportunity across your path that will thrust you to a whole new level. He has explosive blessings in store that can blast you out of where you are and into a place of abundance. If you'll shift your focus from this limited realm and start looking at God's supernatural realm, you'll see His unlimited possibilities for your future. Take the limits off by setting your thoughts on what Almighty God can do in your life today!
Today's thought: I choose to take the limits off myself and delight myself in the Lord knowing He gives me the desires of my heart.
