WHATS HAPPENING SUNDAY

Oh wow it was one wonderful day today….we worked and cleaned and worked some more…cleaning up things that just got put here and there during the winter… raking the leaves from out  of flower beds , finding places for things…that needed to be put up or thrown away. Burning limbs and trash.

Worked on the gate that will divide the garden with the chickens on one side and the garden on the other. The chickens jus****ched and talked to us all the time we were out there.

About 1pm we both ran out of steam so Joe went in and took a shower and changed clothes and lay down for a nap. While I was waiting for him to get out of the shower I lay down in the swing outside and fell asleep. Lol was 3:45 when I woke up ….my face felt a little warm but I rested so well out there. Was the best sleep I have had in a long time.  I got up and finished up some work I was doing then went into the house and showered and changed clothes and started supper.

All in all was a very productive day. Oh yeah I repotted some plants in the green house that had outgrown their pots. Cant wait to start planting in the ground.

SUSAN:::: yes will see you sometime some where in there.  I will be up to the d.r. for supper …hopefull will be able to keep the aides in there better this time. They are working some of them to death. Since we don’t have enough of them they are working double shifts most days. They are getting tired I know but there isn’t any applicantants or that is what they say anyway…

DEBBEI D..:::: Never heard of anyone going out shedding??? Weird. What do they do with the horns if they find them? I have a brother that would love to get hold of more deer horns if you know of anyone that has any…he makes things with them…all sorts of holders and things. Beautiful stuff.

Sounds like you have a great younger son there cooking breakfast for you? And he does his own laundry? You said you only had laundry for yourself and David …That boy will be a good husband someday huh?

I don’t know yoga but I do about 30 minutes worth of stretching a day. I was sitting in the floor the other day with my head on my knees and my grandson said WOW mimi that is amazing that you can do that. He said I been watching you out in the garden too how you just bend right over with your head way down pulling weeds and stuff. I never saw anyone be able to bend like that. Lol he said I sure wish I could do that and I told him well you have to start doing what you can and go from there. But I have always been able to do that except when I was real real fat. But could even then bend over pretty good.

I have more trouble standing up straight than I do bending lol

Im glad that you are starting to do some thing to try and get hold of your health.

I would love to have a boot camp if everyone would come ….you think you could come for a week end or what? Would love to have it for a full 5 days but don’t know if everyone could come for that long do you? It so it would be during the week…there would be room for 6 in the guest house…or that is if everyone didn’t mind sleeping two to a bed lol …I have 3 queen size beds

BARBARA:::: if Peggy is in Washington with her daughter then something must have happened for her to be there ….it has been months and months that no one has been able to get hold of her. It makes me really worried about her and her husband. Just wish she would let us know at least

SUSIE;;;;oh sure wish you could have been down here today we had beautiful sunshine all day. Got up to 67 here today….

Oh wow your going to work full time huh? That was basically what I went back to work for so I could get the money to have a face lift but so far I haven’t saved much lol Hope you get to come to th support meeting on the 12th.

BEC:::: You are one of the people that make me feel lazy lol …you can pack more into a day than anyone I know of. You are so talented with so many things. Wish I could do half of what you can.

If I did all you do then I would never have time for all the exercise too,. Lol well who am I fooling I don’t have time for it anyway most of the time.

That is neat the way you talked about planting the potatos under straw? Wow , so the green part of the plant just grows up thru the straw? How much straw do you put over them???

You know our chickens when I was a girl use to wander in the garden all the time , they never messed with the veggies much…the only thing that mama kept them out of was the tomatoes she said she didn’t like her tomatoes with pecks on them lol but they kept a lot of bugs out of the garden. The deer is what I have a fence around my garden for more than anything…if it was a big area they would go ahead and jump it I know but since it isn’t great great big they don’t like jumping in areas like that …

Oh my lord as if you don’t have enough to think about you had a birthday party for the chichens ---rofl…only my Becky.  Lol

JEANIE RAE::::: wasn’t it beautiful out today. Just a perfect day I though…

Where do you all go fishing at? Come down some time and go fishing this spring in Bullshoals lake…that is where we live.

Being tired when changing your diet and losing weight is usually about right …the Vit D3 if you are low now will probably have to be increased more than that when you have surgery…I take 10,000 units daily …if I don’t I get low…you would think that being out in the sun as much as I am I wouldn’t need it but there is something that decreases as you get older that doesn’t allow your body to absorb it from the sun…and wls causes that to not work either.

I still fry my fish just not deep fried …I very lightly bread it , (lightly ) and pan fry it with a pan sprayed with pam…it really if just as good and still has that taste without all the excess grease…

Oh wow fresh bread, that has always been my downfall is bread. I love homemade rolls and homemade bread. I could do without anything else and just eat that lol the smell alone is so great. But I dare not have a bread machine I wouldn’t know what hit me. I would be fat as a pig in a month. Lol

Well it isn’t suppose to get down below 43 tonight. Wow…now that is a sign of spring for sure.

Im going to post this early it is only 10pm but I have to get to bed and I have to work tomorrow evening so will be busy tomorrow morning…love you all.

Not suppose to plant t 0matoes until the nights stay above 50 ….wont be long

A GARDENER IS THE ETERNAL OPTIMIST….WE CONTINUE TO PLANT TINY SEEDS AND HOPE FOR A HUGE YIELD  OF FLOWERS OR VEGGIES.

Golly Wow was I tired last night... I was simply dead on my feet.  Mimi ~ sometimes all my doings is good intentions and I don't actually get it all done, but.... yesterday I actually GOT IT DONE! ~ha

I worked from 5:30a to 10:00p last night only setting down to write my post.  Boy oh boy did my whole bod hurt!  But it felt good to get so much done...

After I wrote the post I did get my cabinets sanded, vacuumed up the dust, wiped them down with a damp cloth and then gave them another coat of poly, exercised,  I also got to cutting the liner... but ran out of day... got several loads of laundry done and cooked taco salads for supper.... had to stand in the HOT shower with the hot water pounding on my back to get a bit of relief.  Crystal wanted me to watch Masterpiece Theater with her at 10:00 o'clock but I lasted about 10 minutes and fell asleep  in her bed and woke up there this morning....

Going to try and get the rest of the liner done today, load up the shelves with what I have ready and then maybe even get a bit of a start on the garage... that's going to be a several day job... it's so bad... all winter I have just stuck things in there and now there's barely room to pull my new Gator in... oh boy... when I am done I will be able to get my Gator and my Puddle Jumper (RAV 4) both in. One in front of the other.

I simply can't wait to get my fingers in the dirt!  Mimi what we did on the taters is made the row in a mound... then cut a trench in the mound and placed the tater in, feathered it with a bit of dirt and then covered it with the straw.  You are right the taters just grew right on up thru the straw!  I was for sure it would not work... but it worked like a charm! and no real hard digging to get them harvested!  Will never plant them the old way again if this keeps working.

Do you know what is the best variety of tomatoes for salsa?  And is it too early to take the straw off of my strawberries?

Also, do you think I could use wood chips from the state that they put in a shredder from trimming trees... as mulch for my tomato pots?  It wouldn't have any kind of wood mixed in it that would harm my plants would it?  They dumped a load at the neighbor lady's house and she said I could have all I wanted... but don't want to put it on my mater plants if it will hurt them?  I have some weed paper scraps I'm going to put down and then cover it with the mulch... should not have to do any weeding that way... last year I had weeds galore!  Not again! ~ha

Well I have to go and get ready to exercise and get this hair out of my face... I need a cut real bad  but just don't want to stop and take the time to go into town and do it.  Have some cards  I need to get off in the mail too. And a couple of bills to pay

I am hoping the rain will not stop Paul from getting the fence built.  I think those rascally chickens ruined one of my hostas! And they have torn my hydrangea bed to shreds! Oh I get so mad a them when I go out there and they are tearing up my hard work!

Am going to do something new on my patio this year too...  but I will have to do most of it myself as I don't think Paul is going to be much help.  And he's not much on the decorative side of things... maybe he will pound the re~bar for me though... I'm going to take down that gazebo and use the sides out on the corners of my patio... hopefully when I'm done it will give the allusion of a room without there really being walls... will just have to see how it works?  Am going to repaint the panels and the grapes on them.  Golly another project... I should of got it done last year but we had so much going on with the girls graduations and the mountain hiking in Colorado.  I didn't get much done in the line of "projects".

Have a great day all and enjoy the warm... I seen it's to get back down in the 40's this week up here...

I got my sunshine yesterday after all. I am so looking forward to spring. DH cooked some burgers on the grill for lunch. They are so much better that way. Now I need to figure out what to grill today. May just be leftovers.
I will try to get there on the 12th. I can't promise but I will try. Enjoy your Sunday everyone.

What a beautiful day in Seymour, the sun is shinning and actually got my porch mostly cleaned off yesterday, I have a hard time getting started on a project outside, but once I get a little done I fell good about it.

Got my venison jerky in the oven, the roast was so big I'll have two batches to do. Gonna hide it this time though cause my boys don't know when to stop, LOL they will eat you out of house and home if you let them.

Jan~I would love to come down and fish with you. We used to go with the boys all the time but their schedules don't work with ours. Let me know when will be a good day and we'll hook up.

I also would love to be part of a boot camp, I think it would be a good thing for me to get away by myself with a group of women that I can assoiciate with.

Will be going to Dr. E's support group tomorrow night, am really looking forward to it. The people that came to the behavior health class were part of the support group. Then I get a two for, I will defintely be at Friday's COF. I so missed the last meeting.

My son brought some sawdust over for our garden, my DH and I had a big argument over where to put the garden this year, he wants to put it back in the spot he had it two years ago, it didn't produce then, or the year before. Guess we'll have to have a third party negotiate for us.

I make whole wheat bread, with honey and vegetable oil, I like using the bread maker for mixing and rising, but like to put the bread in a loaf pan. We pay way too much money for the low fat bread my DH likes so thought I could save a couple bucks a week. Then again I get tired of baking so don't know how long he'll get home made bread.

Bec~I'll bet your house is beautiful, almost sounds like you should have a do it yourself show on TV, would love to see your cabinets after you get them done.

Susie~I love grilled burgers, we're gonna put the BBQ back on the porch and I'm gonna start grilling things myself. Love grilled chicken.

Susan~maybe we can get together with Jan and Joe and you and Andy and catch a bunch of Crappie and have a WLS friendly fish fry. Think that would be fun. We used to take our cast iron dutch oven and put it on an open fire with oil in it and clean fish and fry it up right there in our campsite.

Well my food log is two days behind and I have to get it caught up, been really disciplined about logging what I eat and last two days just kind of let it go.

Love you all, hope you have a good Sunday, talk to you all tomorrow.
