WHATS HAPPENING THURSDAY

Boy busy day today….first because I had an in-service at the nursing home I went with Joe to take George to school and then we had to go to the bank and then I went to the in-service. We are starting to do computer charting, oh boy is this going to be a mess. Trying to get all of the cnas to do what they are suppose to do on paper is one thing but on computer. Maybe they will like it better who knows. About the only thing we use the computers for is Med A patients maybe one day we will do all charting on computers  and we wont have to write at all. But they sure do need to have spell check on it lol. Especially for me .

After that we finally caught the guy at his farm that has the horse poop…got  a big load. And he told us that any time we wanted some to just pull in there and get it whether he was there or not if we didn’t mind shoveling it. He has such a large pile that we can back the truck right up there and shovel it in with out having to  do much at all.

You should have seen the silly chickens when we got it unloaded off into the garden. They were having a ball. Lol …scratching and clucking ….

I had to stop by wal mart to get more protein powder while it was on sale and all they had was choc. So I got that and will use it for my morning coffee…since I usually put

Choc in that anyway too. So hope it will work good. And can make choc peanut butter balls too..with out using that expensive choc peanut butter lol …

Got home and sure was glad that I thawed out some ham for supper so with a baked pot. For the guys we had a quick supper …

No wasn’t that an interesting day???? One of many  in the wonderful life of Jan lol

SUSAN ::::: Good to see you and your little baby girls today lol . they are all so funny and cute. I cant get over the fact that Miko and Chrissie wouldn’t have any thing to do with me when you all lived over next door but now that you live up there they cant wait to get in my lap. Weird little girls huh? And your new one is just a cutie too. She hasn’t decided yet whether or not she is suppose to bark or come to me yet but she will one day .

Thanks Andy for helping me out today….i felt like a dumb butt for having to ask you but I couldn’t get it in my head what I was doing I guess. Senior moment  you think? Maybe this what ever it is I have has gotten to my brain too. .

You all wont believe the amount of granola that Andy was making over there at his house I think I walked into his Christmas present making for all his wls friends lol …I swear he had enough made up for a small army ….just kidding Andy…it sure was good. I think that would really be good to add to yogurt or to cereal. Or even just eat by its self.

JEANIE RAE::::: don’t think you are going nuts , you are losing your best friend (food ) which it really isn’t your best friend or even a half way good one. It fact it is more on the class of the devil. It is evil, not food per se but thinking it is our comforter. It isn’t….we have to learn to comfort ourselves in a whole new way. And believe me it never gets easier I don’t think..the best I can do is make sure I don’t have bad stuff in the house so if I gorged myself on something at least it is something that isn’t horrible anyway. like fruit I may over eat it looking  for that sweet taste. But at least it is fruit and not candy or cookies. Sometimes it is just hard to handle all the emotions that we have when we quit using food for our constant companion. I told Joe right up front what was happening and how I was feeling so he was able to help me some. But it isn’t easy still…

I don’t think any of us were ever good with dealing with emotional stuff …that is why we made food our confidant. …no judging from food. It was always there and ready for us at a moments notice. When someone made us sad we went to food , mad , food, glad food and so on and so on. Get it???? Now that you are trying to do without it it is hard. True it does get easier to not eat so much and so often after surgery but the comfort and stuff we got from food will always be there….just hang in there and if there is anyway you can afford a counselor it would be worth it. I wish I could afford one but you know what we have a great group leader now that has been trained in that so maybe she can help us some too. And I sure don’t know the answers but im just a phone call away…you have my number and I don’t mind you calling me at all. Not sure I can say anything to help but sometimes all we need is someone to say stuff to  you know. …..will see you on the 12th. Cant wait to see you again.

JO ;;;;;;; that costume is really bugging you isn’t it lol….the never ending costume huh??im glad that I don’t know how to sew if that kind of thing would happen.and it probably would knowing my luck….lol.

I hope they find what is affecting your husbands feet…is he a diabetic? I forgot if you have said so …

Yeah biggest loser was really shocked weren’t they? Boy if Mike hadn’t lost so much weight and be exempt from being voted out he might have gotten sent home ..but I don’t know…I think the only one in the house that like Miggy was Michael…

DEBBIE D::::::boy every once in a while we get a good surprise of you posting. Good to see you , we miss you you know. I know you read but we don’t know you do lol.

Good that your boys and hubby are all doing well but this problems with your arteries that is worrisome. Glad to see you are on meds that maybe will help some. …don’t understand how the RNY could have anything to do with that do you???we aren’t on a high fat diet or any of the bad things…so what ??? I don’t know at what point they put a stent in but we are going to pray that isn’t the case and they can unblock this another way. Darn girl don’t you get down and sick on us ….you hear I wont have it.

Keep me informed please. I will worry about you till I hear that it is all cleared up and gone. And we all know that our Lord can do that. So we are going to just believe it  and you receive it..!!!!!

Maybe the exercise will help your health too …so don’t wait for your friend get out and do it. Ok

Love you and hope to hear from you more please let us know if things are ok…

Another sunny day and my winter coat is at home.  It's pretty chilly in the morning but warms up by evening.

Those @#$#@ costume fixes are such a pain.  The green thing is the worst.  All the seams need to be re-sewn because the tension wasn't right when they were made.  Last night I sewing snaps on between the Velcro strips.  Tonight I need to sew more snaps on another one.  Regionals are Saturday.

My husband is pre-diabetic so he is watching his diet and has cut out cookies and sweet rolls.

I'm taking treats Sunday for my Stephan Ministry class and I want something I can eat.  I know I'm taking Spinach Artichoke Dip but not sure what else.  Maybe some roll ups with flour tortillas, deli meat and cheese, the cut them into small pieces.

I bought some of those protein chips.....yuk!!  Tastes like cardboard.

Hope all of you are enjoying sunshine and warmer temps.

Andy, how about sharing your granola recipe?

Good Evening OH,

Had a super busy day, DH had two Dr. app. first was our PCP, had labs and EKG, then went to Wal-mart, we like the tilapia fillets they have, and I need a watch, I am gonna walk up and down the drive on good days. Can time myself and know that I'm getting 30 minutes in.

Jan~I'm feeling better today, and I also had to tell Lloyd what was happening with me emotionally, I know he understands, but the look on his face when I am lashing out at him is worse than the ones my babies used to give me when they got in trouble. What a guilt trip. I think a lot of it was his breathing problems and the meds they had him on didn't seem to be working. Today his pulmonary Dr. took him off Spiriva, DH just told him it wasn't helping and he took him off and put him back on steroids for a while to try to get rid of the inflammation, they wanted to put him on oxygen but he talked them into waiting till next visit to see if he needs it

After he came down and told me what transpired I felt better and maybe a lot of the emotions was that. Don't feel so nutty today. Am proud of myself, I made us breakfast to take with since he had a fasting blood work to do, but knew we would have to buy lunch, had two coupons for Wendy's Bacon Blue burger and had myself talked into trying it but at last minute got a salad instead. So did good.

Jo~I don't like to sew, have an old machine and have used it but only for mending things that was necessary. Plan on making some curtains for the house but I don't think I could do what you are. Kudos to you for taking the time to do that for you GD.

My DH is also pre diabetic. He is aware that he needs to lose weight and I try to cook things that are good for both of us. He rebelled at first but lately he is doing better. Also he hasn't really sabotaged me like he used to.

Susan~I would love it if Andy could post his granola recipe. I love eating plain yogurt and I think granola would be good in it. We plan on having the sugar free pops I really love the cherry flavor.

Susie~Getting the BBQ fired up sounds good to me. might just have to put on a chicken this weekend.

Well, it's been a long day, time to watch American Idol, and go to bed.

Thank-you all for the words of encouragement, it helps so much to have the message board to post on.

Have a good evening, will talk to ya tomorrow.
