WHATS HAPPENING WEDNESDAY
got all the floors swept and mopped. cleaned all the counter tops with cleaner, dusted all the furniture and cleaned the refrigerator. Joe used the chrome cleaner on the top of my stove. really looks good.
i have an old 1941 gas range than i bought ...i love it but the top is chrome and it has to be kept clean and shiny to be pretty.
did anyone watch American Idol? i had to watch it and Biggest loser by switching back and forth...why did they guys perform tonight instead of the girls? i still think that young boy is the best so far anyway...i havent seen much from the rest of them.
Im going to post this tonight because i wont have time in the morning. I will have to ride in when we take George to school because i have a mandetory meeting at noon tomorrow. and no way to do it without it..
I got a phone call from one of the nurses today asking if i could work Thursday for her so i will be getting an extra day that is good. we really need the money right now. this past winter has really messed us up with our electric bills for 3 months we have had a horrible light bill. the cheapest one during that time was 434 dollars. the hightest was 523....so we are getting them all paid off but it is such a pain. i told Joe as soon as we get all caught up i think we are going to buy a gas fireplace to put in the living room. everyone says well gas is high too , and they are right it is...but we have run a heater in the green house all winter and havent used but about 100 worth of gas for all winter in a building that has air holes it in several places. so i dont think it is as high as elect.
SUSAN ::::: yep i got your message. thanks i will be by sometime tomorrow. are you off tomorrow? hopefully you wont have to be there long with the car. dont you just hate to spend good money on a car? and yet i know if you dont you are right you might get stranded. we try to take ours to the dealership once a year for a complete going thru and fixing anything that they find wrong. usually there isnt much but some times they find some expensive things. when they do we usually take it to someone else too and see what they say. sort of like a second opion...lol
JO::::: how did your hubbys test go yesterday? I hope they are able to figure out what is going on with his feet.
let us know we all are concerned along with you....keeping him in our prayers.
JEANIE RAE::::: i know what you mean about trees too close to your house. we have two big elms in our front yard that all always dropping limbs. and in general makeing messes lol would love to have them taken down.
would you like some zinnia and or marigold seeds ???? if so just ask and i will bring you enough to plant a large area with them , they both are very easy to grow ....
well got to get off here and get to bed cause i have to get up early tomorrow to get in the bathroom before George and Joe do they both are bathroom hogs lol

Good Morning OH,
Don't know what is going on but I am so emotional the last couple of days, haven't had real mood swings but am sensitive to things my DH might say or do and end up really blowing up at him. I have tried to figure out what is causing it.
He has been having problems with his breathing, but doesn't do what his pulomonologist tells him, as far a breathing excercises go. I try to remind him about the pursed lip breathing, but he seams to ignore me and when I tell him how much it helps me he comes back with I'm not you. I don't think the meds his doctor prescribed are doing the job. I also don't think he tells the doctor aggressively enough that they aren't relieving his breathin problems. I don't like that his health is bad but he has to want to get better and COPD isn't a disease you just get over.
I feel like I need to talk to a counselor but can't really afford the co-pay right now.Still paying high electric bills and then there are still the med co-pays and so on.
Well guess this will pass, just need to work it out. I'm not crazy but sometimes it's hard to figure out what is going on upstairs. Needed to get this all out, never have been good dealing with my emotional garbage, that's what food did for me, made me numb so I didn't have to deal.
Jan~I would love some flower seeds. Love Zinnias and Marigolds, we used to plant marigolds with our vegetables, I think for nematodes.
I always wanted to put in some maples and fruit trees. We have a lot of hickory and oak, not sure what kind of oak, but somebody said we have a special kind of hickory with a shabby bark. LOL I have a hard time telling an elm from a maple sometimes wouldn't begin to classify different types of them.
Susan~We still have branches laying from the last few ices storms. My sons are too busy to help and my DH is not about to do anything he doesn't have to do.
I can go out and pick up branches and put them in a burn pile but I need someone here that can move quick enough with the water hose in case the grass catches fire. I just figure a little bit everyday, now that it's gonna warm up we should be able to get things cleaned up around here.
Need to post and get my food log done. Talk to ya all later.
Max did fine but no results yet. Will be 2 or 3 days before he hears anything. If the spine is causing the problem with his feet, I don't know if it will require surgery. I would be hesitant to have anyone mess with my spine, but he will do it if a doctor suggests it.
I'm getting the pain in the elbow costume back tonight to sew snaps on the waistband. I put 2" Velcro strips on the waistban in 4 places, but now she wants snaps too. Competition is Saturday so no costumes that day. I have a quilt top to put together for someone. I've had it for months and she needs it by the 12th so that's what I'll be doing Saturday.
I'm no****ching Idol this year, just no interest at all. I hear Simon really dislikes Ellen. Simon is a gorgeous hunk but I'll bet he's difficult to get along with.
I did watch BL. The blue team was really shocked they lost the weigh in. Miggy looks so much younger and is very attractive.
For years we lived where there were no trees or really small ones and always wished we had trees. We have lots of trees now and it's great in the summer for shade. The front faces the west so the trees provide a lot of shade. However, trimming them is very expensive. We spent about $900 having them trimmed.
Last night I had Wendy's new Bacon Blue Burger minus the bun. I like blue cheese but not a lot at one time. I wound up scraping the cheese off, but the burger made me sick and it came up, probably too rich for my pouch. No more of those for me.
Susan, I hate spending money on cars too. We had a Susuki that had a 10 year warranty, but we didn't realize how much it didn't cover until it needed work. That car was sold and no more foreign cars for us. Spending money on the car is as bad as spending it on tree trimming.
Jeanie_Rae, my husband is very good about doing whatever the doctor says, but he worries way too much about health issues and always imagines the worst. I can certainly understand your frustrations with your hubby.
~Jo~

Kansas City, MO
I'm truly enjoying the SUNSHINE! The high temp today was 47 degrees and it felt wonderful! I subbed for 1/2 day today (actually only had the kids for 1 1/2 hours) so it was GREAT!
Tried a new dish tonight...Oven Roasted Chicken with new potatoes and asparagus. The guys liked it and told me it was a "keeper"! Luke was home too. He and his best friend have tickets to the KU vs KSU basketball game tonight. Luke is a big KSU fan and his buddy is KU. They were both really excited. I guess Brad got some good seats and they were FREE!
I had my PET Scan of my heart done Monday. The nurse called today and said the blood flow to my heart was 58%, they like to see it between 50 to 70%. So mine was good.
However, the calcification in my arteries is 840. They like to see it a "0". She said she had seen it from 1,000 to 2,000. They were suppose to do a sonogram of my carotid artery on Monday, however, there was a mix up and it hadn't been schedule. I have an apt with the cardiologist on the 16th and the plan is to do that sono gram right before my apt with her. The nurse said that if the doctor wanted me to have it done before then, they would call me by the end of the week. I am on 20 milligrams of lipitor, 2400 mg of Fish oil and 1 81mg of coated aspirin per day. Anyone of any experience with this? When do they decide to put a stint in?
I did have a scan of my carotid artery in 12/06 and it showed the "beginning" of plaque then. I had my rny 3/05/07 and had another sono of my carotid artery in 12/08 and was told it was clear. My new doctor said she didn't receive those records from my former cardiologist, so I'm going to get on the phone with them tomorrow and make sure those get to her before my next appointment. I want to know if this calcification has occurred SINCE my rny!
I went out and bought new water tennis shoes. I'm hoping to get back into water aerobics soon. My friend who was going to start with me this week hurt her back and isn't allowed to start exercising for at least a week maybe two. Guess I could go by myself...just not as much fun!
The family is doing well. DH is suppose to be hired on as a regular W2 employee here within a few weeks. We've heard this before, just hoping it happens this time!
Luke is doing well in college. Jake is doing well in HS too. Jake has a dentist apt in the morning - he finally got his braces off and he has a couple cavities that have to be filled tomorrow. He's hoping to be able to stay home from school, however, I think he needs to go if at all possible. He's missed quite a bit due to his not wearing his rubber bands like he was suppose to so we went back to the orthodontist for like 2 1/2 months!! It was ridiculous to say the least! Glad they are finally off! Now he has to wear his retainer when he goes to bed for the rest of his life! He had better or Mama's going to take it out of his hide! lol! ;)
My Aunt Fredia had double knee replacement in Mountain Home, AR almost 3 weeks ago. Since then she has been diag. with MERSA as well as Blood Poisoning. She has been in critical care the past 3 days. They did surgery on her to remove some type of growth on her tailbone this afternoon. Haven't heard from anyone so I'm hoping it went well. She is so weak. Please keep her in your prayers.
Friday will be my 3rd anniversary for my RNY! I can't believe it's been THREE years! I've gained 15 lbs and I know it's my own fault. I really need to start exercising and drinking more protein shakes. I think I could lose at least 10 lbs in a month, if I would just do it! I might try the 5 day pouch test - that would probably jump start the process.
Mama Jan - I can only imagine how much you are enjoying the newer weather. I see you've got a jump start on your spring cleaning. I've started the list. That's about as far as I've gotten!
Susan W - I'm so glad to hear your Dad is doing better! You look FABULOUS!!
Mo Peeps - I read the posts daily and am always going to post but just don't seem to as much as I did a few years ago. I really would like to get to know each one of you! Hope you all have a GREAT evening!
