WHATS HAPPENING SATURDAY FEB 20TH
Hello people. Sorry I have been gone for a couple of days but guess I just got lazy…and with having the babies all here wore myself out playing with them. My shoulders and back are so sore lol good thing that God knew what he was doing when he made the younger women have the babies instead of us old ones. Right? Would sure be hard to take care of a tiny one nowdays. Love them to pieces but want to be able to say here mama take her/him …so much fun when you don’t have to have them all the time. Love them to pieces but just couldn’t do it all the time.
Today we are going to the birthday party and they will all be there again. But I miss them really bad when I don’t get to see them often. Wish Sarah would bring Josh over sometime too. …did you all see my pictures of the three of them ?: there is one more great grand baby that is Josh. He lives in Springdale Ark.
Not too far but far enough that it isn’t easy to get over there …
It has sure been beautiful the last 3 days…yesterday was beautiful till about noon and then it clouded up but it still got up to about 58...and Thursday it was in the 60s…We all went to Shadow Rock park in Forsyth and the guys played basketball and we played with the babies on the swings. We all were so tired when we got back home and ate it didn’t take long before the babies and the older babies were all yawning and nodding off. Lol I guess we were so starved for warmth and sunshine that we sort of over did it. But it sure was fun.
We got the garden tilled yesterday too…the chickens are sure loving it …I was really surprised that it tilled up so well…no clots or anything. And isn’t frozen at all. We dug 6 inches down and no freezing at all. .I was really surprised at that. We thought we would let the hens play in it for a few days and if we get some more sun the weeds will start in again and we will put them down on the other side and close the gate…will till that up down there for them …and then we will spray the garden for weeds on the green part and let it die down then till up again. Hopefully doing that a couple of times will help get the grass and weeds out of the garden. Maybe eventually …that ole Bermuda grass is the most hateful grass in the world…
JO::::thanks a million for doing the post I really appreciate it. ..
Im glad you found an exercise thing that you are liking ,,,keep it up it will really help you lose your weight.
Oh wow I love the home shows don’t you? I can see so many things I want to do to our house that I get really mad cause I cant buy it all lol…I hope you all have fun and I know you will.
JEANIE RAE::::O h that is great you get to do your class on Monday don’t you? That is good and hopefully the insurance co wont take long to approve you for your surgery. I know they can take up to 2 months but hopefully they wont. Does the hospital put in the request for your surgery approval? They know what to say and how to say it so it will get approved.
I think I am going to put my tomatoes this year in tubs too. That way I wont have them in the garden to have to worry about keeping the weeds out. And they will be up higher for me to be able to care for them easier and to pic easier too. If I get good producers then I don’t need that many…mainly want them for making salsa. And for putting some up whole for stews and soups. And then for eating fresh. I have 11 tubs so that is what I will plant I think that should be more than enough.
I thought I already had my snow peas to plant but don’t have any so tomorrow I will pick up a package to get in the ground really soon. They like it cold, I love those things in stir fry. don’t you?
Im going to plant some sweet potatoes this year too. Love eating those. …
Be sure and take some snacks with you tomorrow in case you start getting low blood sugar while in class.
Take care.
SUSAN::::I don’t know why your dad would have to go to the other nursing home when we have residents in there a lot worse than your dad…a whole lot worse. He doesn’t cause any trouble that I have seen. Of course im not there all the time but he sure does seem mild compared to some of them.
I hope he gets better soon.
Oh im trying to get some tomatoe plants going if I get too many for me would you and Andy want some of them? I know you have a good spot for them on your back deck there. But didn’t know if you wanted to deal with them …Oh there was a guy down across from the Bank of America that had all sorts of tomatoes out there for sale yesterday. don’t know where they came from but from the road they looked good. Started to have Kim stop but she was tired so I didn’t ask her to.
Will continue to pray for your dad and for you too …I know it isn’t easy to be so worried about a parent.
Take care of yourself. Will see you on Wednesday….they havent called me at all this week ….hmmm guess they got the idea that im not real good at being called in …
I have some pictures posted on my profile so you can go see them if you want.

GOD BLESS YOU TODAY
JAN COOK
jan sounds like you are having a great time with the kid's.see ya on wednesday.my dad finally had enough of that one woman bugging him and he hit he.that is why they sent him out.the one nurse told me if she was near where he was sitting she could have stopped the lady from going near him.she was going to tell don that someone needs to be in there at all time's while they are serving dinner and eating but they were all serving tray's.
when they told my dad he needed to stop touching people he just looked puzzled.he just does not understand anything they say anymore.i know there are people worse off than him but hif he does not respond to the medice they put him on he will have to go somewhere is they said.
jo how is the sewing coming along for you?i have not done any in a long time.i used to make things for my mom all the time.sound's like your grandbabies just love you to pieces also.
jeanie rae glad to hear that your class is still on.we are praying for everything to go quickly for you so you can have your surgery.
everyone have a great day.we love you all.god bless.susan.
Just had to respond to you. I worked in a sister facility of where you work and that is states policy that if one resident hits another they have to send them out. Didnt they send him to a hospital for tests and evaluation - not just another nursing home. We always had to have an LPN in the dining room at all times or RN (no exceptions.). I take it you dont have a special unit at your facility? I will pray for you all. God Bless! Colette
How many tomatoes plants do you plant in one plastic tub? I just want some for eating and for stews and soups. I dont have time for big garden and all the work. Especially with our rural water (from city) going up again -seems I can buy it cheaper at farmers market etc and dont have big hassle with weeds and heat and water. God Bless! Colette
Hi OH,
Getting excited about the behavior health class, I can't wait till I'm this excited about the surgery.
Jan~Dr. E's team does all the paper work from now on. The only thing I have to do is sign the papers for permission to treat. The nurse co-ordinator said sometimes Humana approves quickly sometimes it takes a little longer. Will just have to wait and see.
Susie~I am so sorry you are having a difficult time with your Dad. I pray that all is ok for him.
I'm doing good right now. Have been doing ok with the food. We had to stop and get lunch yesterday and went to Hardees and got a low carb burger. It's a good size burger but no bun and I feel better about doing that than going all out and getting all the carbby fried stuff that's loaded with fat.
My GD is here and waiting for her mom to come and pick her up. Her Dad ended up having to work today and got tied up so he won't be able to take her to the school fundraiser tonight. I thought about doing it but don't think I can stand the crowd of kids and parents at the same time. I know what you mean Jan when you say it's wonderful to see them, and spend fun time with them but we have the option to say mom and dad, here ya go. LOL
Hope everyone has a good day, gonna post this and get my other things done so my DH can do his surfing the Internet. Talk to ya all later.
Have been to town this morning to get some quilt fabric... oh boy did I find some pretty stuff!
The neighbor lady that fixed my quilt has gotten me to piecing one... it is a Dresden plate. It will be greens and pinks with a bit of lavender in it... I started with a piece of fabric I found in her scraps and have built my colors from that... can't wait to actually get to cutting on the pieces. Like I really should be doing such with all the projects I have to do already ~ha
Hauled rock with Paul yesterday... I would get out over at the quarry and then run till he came by and picked me up... I did about nine miles thru the coarse of the day and I'm sure feeling it today. He hauled 9 loads so it was all broke up but still good exercise and the very very most I have run in one day's time for sure. I rode 2 of the loads and got out and run 7 of them... was plumb tuckered last night. Still have to exercise yet today.
Took my gator out for a spin yesterday afternoon and now it's all muddy, and got the garage floor all muddy too but it was worth it. I was down in the front in the snow cutting donuts!!! Boy that was fun! I have some aggressive tires on it and it went right along.
Mimi ~so glad you had a nice time with your families and the babies.
I'm going to plant my "maters" in the tubs too and I'm going to put weed paper and mulch in them as well that way I should only have to jus****er them... I had weeds galore all summer last year. What variety is the best for salsa? Roma? You know I looked and looked for sweet potato slips last year around here and could not find any... where do you get yours?
My garden will be out in the front this year so I will have to keep it looking nice...hmmm Paul is building his new barn in the place where the garden has always been.
Jo ~ hope you are having a good day and your about finished with the costumes. Sure is good of you to do them even when you didn't want to... I know you will be blessed for it.
Susan ~ I'm sure praying for your pops... know it must hurt to see him struggling. Praying the Lord will minister to him in a real special way.
Colette ~ it was good to see your pretty face on yesterday. Hope all is going well at your house and your husband is doing well. You are still welcome to come anytime you want, just give me a little heads up and I would dearly love to have you visit.
Andy ~ I got the CD yesterday and will call you soon to get some help and also discuss what else is going on with this wicked machine I think the himself is trying my patience with this thing! Thanks millions for sending the cd and your help. Also wanted to say you and Susan are more than welcome to stay over when it's time for her appt. in Columbia if you are driving. Would love to visit with you both. But sure understand if you are taking advantage of the ride too.
Well better get in there and put the groceries away and get Paul's supper warmed up and lunch made for work tonight... boy am I being tested about NO Carbs and NO Sugar! Just say you can't have it and that's the very first thing you want! Oh I hate that about myself!!! Guess I had to blow that steam ~ ha Sure am glad I did all that cooking last weekend... it is helping for sure.
Have a good rest of the weekend all.
Bec
We went downtown to the Home Show thinking we could park in a garage for $2 then take a shuttle to the show. That info was in the KC Star but was wrong. Some lots were charging $10 to park and a lot of them were full. There were several things going on at the auditorium. Huge crowds of people were going in so we decided to forget it. It would be so crowded you would never get close to a booth. We went to Home Depot and looked at storm doors and found one we like.
Then we went to Applebee's for lunch, not the same one we went to a few weeks ago. We had a steak dinner and I have half of mine for another meal. It was delicious and the service was great. I used my $20 gift card so only had to pay tip.
Susan, so sorry about your dad. I know how hard it is to see our parents like that. Hope the new meds work for him.
Bec, you are a tiger on that gator!! I made the Dresden plate in when I started quilting. We had to make several different blocks. I started quilting thinking I would like handquilting but I don't. I do all my quilting on the machine.
Still no word on what I'm to do on the disaster costume. Most of the work on them is handwork. I need to make me a black skirt and a navy blue one. This winter's been so cold, I've not wanted to wear a dress or skirt, but surely it won't be like this always.
It's snowing again......aaaaaarrrrrrr.
