In Matthew we see how Jesus is fulfilling the scriptures in what is the beginning of His death.  Peter was told he would deny Jesus 3 times but he said in no way would he ever do that, well it came to pass, he denied Jesus 3 times before the rooster crowed.  That just goes to show you how Jesus knew exactly what was going to take place in order for him to be put on the cross and shed His blood for us.  It just gives me Holy Ghost bumps when I think about all He had to go through just so that we could have life and have it more abundantly.  What a sacrifice He gave.

Proverbs really stuck out at me again, it seems Proverbs is the book of wisdom and it really lives up to its title, again the book talks about being wise and listen to His instructions.  We will be blessed if we listen to the instructions of the Lord and that when we find Him we also find favor.  I don’t know about you but I sure want to be on the side of God that gives out favor, for being in favor brings protection and blessings.  I just love Proverbs.

Today’s Reading

Exodus 32:1-33:23
Matthew 26:69-27:14
Psalm 33:1-11
Proverbs 8:33-36

Daily Devotional

"…time and chance happen to them all"
(Ecclesiastes 9:11, NIV)

When God laid out the plans for our lives, He lined up the right people, the right breaks, and the right opportunities that we needed to fulfill our destiny. The Scripture talks about how time and chance will come together for every person. In other words, there are moments of favor that God has already released into your future. If you'll let that sink down into your heart today, it will change your whole outlook on your future.

So many people miss out on the good things because they allow fear to distract them and hold them back. They say, "What if I fail?" "What if they don't like me?" "What if I make a mistake?" To that I say, "What if you succeed?" "What if they like you?" "What if you do it better than anyone else?" That's expecting God's goodness and favor. And when you go out each day with an attitude of faith and expectancy, you'll see those good things He has in store. You'll walk into divine moments of favor, moments of blessing, moments of increase; and you'll be fully equipped to live the life of victory!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father God, thank You for the good things You have in store for my future. Thank You for Your peace and joy that surrounds my every step. I choose today to keep my heart focused on the good things You have in store for my future. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Wonderful reminder today of a very basic concept.

I truly love the book of Proverbs too.  If we didn't have any other book this one would go along way in keeping us in righteousness or "right living" if we are able to follow it's many precepts.

Thanks Andy,
Bec

Bec I think I am getting more out of the Proverbs and Psalms this time around then I did before.  Your so right, if we can just follow what Proverbs says our lives will be so much better and so blessed.

Have a great day!

Andy
