Daily Bible Reading - Tuesday February 9th

Reading in Exodus they are still preparing the temple, it still amazes me how Exodus and Matthew are pretty much in line with each other, although in different times.  In reading Matthew today it really hit me how much Jesus was going through and what all He had to do to get ready for His own death.  In reading where He went to pray and he asked His Father if there was any way the cup could pass from him let it pass but He only wanted His Fathers will.  We all know it was the Fathers will for this to play out.  It’s hard to imagine what Jesus must have been feeling right about this time,  He knew what He must do and what was going to take place, yet he did not hesitate one bit.  All the suffering, heart ache and pain He is about to go through is for us, all for us.

I love how Proverbs started out today, Common Sense and Success belong to me.  If we could all just learn to use the common sense that’s been given to us we’d sure be better off, or at least me, I have found in this journey of WLS that 98% of the time it is all common sense.  Things that I eat and am not supposed to eat, the exercise and all is mostly common sense.  When I went into this I thought I was going to have trouble remembering what to eat when, what not to eat ect.  I think if we all use our common sense more we’d be better off, at least I would.   At the end of today’s reading in Proverbs He goes on to say how we were born before the world was even thought of, isn’t that awesome how we, all of us, were formed even before He created anything else?  He created everything just for us, for you and me He created the heavens and the earth and all that go with it, wow, how awesome is that? That just goes to show us how much love the Lord has for us, how much He cares about us and wants only the best for us.  What an awesome God.

Daily Devotional

"…time and chance happen to them all"
(Ecclesiastes 9:11, NIV)

When God laid out the plans for our lives, He lined up the right people, the right breaks, and the right opportunities that we needed to fulfill our destiny. The Scripture talks about how time and chance will come together for every person. In other words, there are moments of favor that God has already released into your future. If you'll let that sink down into your heart today, it will change your whole outlook on your future.

So many people miss out on the good things because they allow fear to distract them and hold them back. They say, "What if I fail?" "What if they don't like me?" "What if I make a mistake?" To that I say, "What if you succeed?" "What if they like you?" "What if you do it better than anyone else?" That's expecting God's goodness and favor. And when you go out each day with an attitude of faith and expectancy, you'll see those good things He has in store. You'll walk into divine moments of favor, moments of blessing, moments of increase; and you'll be fully equipped to live the life of victory!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father God, thank You for the good things You have in store for my future. Thank You for Your peace and joy that surrounds my every step. I choose today to keep my heart focused on the good things You have in store for my future. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

I Corinthians 15:57 - But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
