WHATS HAPPENING FRIDAY 2-

Jan C.
on 2/4/10 11:47 pm - Cedar Creek, MO

Seems I don’t have a lot to say during these cold dreary days does it. I really get down during this kind of weather. I don’t know why it has been like this my whole life tho. Seems like. But since we have for the most part for the last 4 years have gone away for the winter this one seems really bad since we didn’t get to go. You know like you don’t really miss what you don’t know but once you know you know what you are missing …lol now figure out that one..

We had fun talking with the boys yesterday. They were a hoot. Getting two young men together like that . Made us feel good that they like us enough to spend some time with us.

They were talking to each other about their goals and what they want to accomplish and was so refreshing to hear young people talking like that rather than party party party.

I think I have finally gotten our chickens tamed …I can go out on the back porch now and they see me and they come running to the fence for a treat. I take stale bread and take it to them. They love that. …

We have still not gotten any manure spread on the garden but there is getting a lot of chicken poop in there. Next month we will have to put them in one side only and close the fence off to the other side so we can get the garden ready for planting. Then I will come alive again lol

SUSAN :::: glad your toe is feeling better , I wonder if you will always have trouble with that thing? That is bad but glad that you keep a close eye on it. I have seen what can happen to things like that and it isn’t pretty.

The next day I work that you work is probably this next Monday . I could have worked yesterday but I didn’t feel well when they called me so I told them no.

So far none of this stuff has been too bad here . Except it is snowing big snowflakes right now. Lol I hope it doesn’t get too bad cause Donnie has to go back to Republic today sometime. He said wow I havent ate like this since I was down here for Thanksgiving. Lol bless his heart. I told him to come down on his days off anytime he wants too . He is always welcome.

JEANIE RAE:::::: how are you feeling this morning sweetie? I hope better. This weather gets everyone down it seems…

Im really sorry that they canceled those classes on you. That doesn’t seem fair. We will just keep going along so that when it does happen you will be ready tho. How long do the classes last? Weeks or what?

Will be praying that you feel better soon and will see you next Friday.

Again thank you for the pretty bags.. Love them .

Cor:::: so you think it is stress. That can very well be ….you will have to find a way to distress that doesn’t include eating. Have someone that works for you to cover an hour and go walk and walk and walk that is good for you and will recharge your mental outlook. Will be praying for you to find your happy medium . What does this patient do that is so bad to stress you out. If it is bad things you can maybe have him transferred to a nursing home if he is getting to bad for residential. But you will have to document document document document over and over for several days. Ok? Write me on the private message button and I maybe can help you out more.

DEBBIE D.::::: it has been a long time since I have seen you on here….I know you are kept busy with having even one boy in high school….sounds like they are growing up fast that seems to happen to all of them you know.

Sorry you are having so much trouble healing from gb surgery….didn’t you have it lap? I hope you get your heart study done soon. That is nothing to fool around with ….why don’t the insurance company think you need that study done? Oh I forget they are sec. and office people that know better than doctors what a patient needs . That really makes me mad for them to be able to decide those things….when they know nothing what so ever about it.

I hope David gets on permanent soon with the company he is working with but at least it is steady work right now and that is a big thing …there are so many people out of work that it is so amazing that our president or any one can say that the economy is turning around , it isn’t there are more people that I know of daily that are losing their jobs and probably you all too. I know what they are counting is the ones that have run out of unemployment so they don’t count on the unemployment stats…oh well im off on a tangent again lol

Glad to see you on here and ok lets all go somewhere where it is warm and we can dip our toes in the water and walk in the sand….wonder how warm it is in Pensacola….that isn’t too far. …we can just stay on the beach and sleep under the stars….wont cost much that way lol ….see you there.

Love and hugs and get back with us more often ok ….

If I could get a definite date and time and everyone would come we would have a boot camp but everyone will say they will come and then back out…wish they wouldn’t it would be so much fun ….

don’t know how long I will work again this time….just long enough to get some bills paid so I can play , it really is a tactic to get out and do something in this awful weather. Which I hate ….oh did I say I hate winter??? Lol

Good Morning OH,

Am feeling better today, so maybe it is just the Winter Blahs. We signed up for the silver sneakers at our Y and we're gonna start going in 3 days a week and using the treadmills and whatever else we feel we can use to get us started. DH needs to go so we are teaming up.

Jan~The Behavior Health Class is one day for 8 hours. It's the only part that Humana (Medicare) won't pay for, it cost $200.

You are so welcome for the bags, thank-you for being my angel. I was thinking about putting the request out there for one, but wanted to wait til' I had a surgery date. So you are appreciated.

Hope everyone stays warm and dry, need to get some things done around the house so will talk to ya all later.

Not much going on here today.  I think we're all getting cabine fever.  Although I go to work everyday, I still feel bummed with all this cloudy, gloomy weather.

I was off day yesterday.  I hoped toget to work by noon.  Max had a Sigmoidoscopy and it should have been done with in time for me to go to work, but the hospital didn't have him in the system and that took 45 minutes.  We didn't get away from the hospital until after 1:00.  He has Diverticulosis and IBS.  The dr. gave him a med to take at night to calm the colon down.

He had been complaining about all the pain and he couldn't eat but we went to eat when we left the hospital and he ordered chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes with gravy and corn and cleaned the plate.  I think he exaggerates his health issues.  Gets on my last nerve.

I went to Fashion Bug and got some snow boots for $17.  Guess I'm going to need them till July.

I fixed this for dinner tonight and it came out really good and sooo easy to make. Thought I would share in case someone is interested in something different. Not sure how RNY friendly it is but is loaded with protein which I know is very important you all as it is with us Lapbanders.
Hope you enjoy if you can,
Connie

TILAPIA CASSEROLE

1 (1 lb) bag frozen tilapia fillet

1 package of frozen asparagus

1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of shrimp soup (undiluted)

1 sleeve of Ritz crackers, crushed

1/2 cup margarine

Directions
Layer frozen fish fillets in sprayed casserole dish (9x9), overlapping if needed.

Pour bag of frozen asparagus over frozen fish.

Spread cream of shrimp soup over fish. (Do not add water).

Melt margarine and mix with crushed crackers.

Sprinkle cracker mixture over casserole.

Bake uncovered at 350° for about 60 minutes.

Note:  I sprinkled Old Bay seasoning lightly on the cream of shrimp soup before adding the crackers. Of course you could omit the asparagus if you like. But I would reduce the cooking time to 45-50 minutes if you do. One person suggested adding hot sauce to the melted margarine if you like a little kick.
