When I read the devotional this morning I thought back to the dreams and desires I had that never did work out.  I know we all have been disappointed and had setbacks with dreams and desires we’ve had.  Praise God that He is a God of second, third, forth chances and so on.  I’ve  come to realize that God still gives up the desires of our hearts and its time for me to have new desires and dreams.  There is a dream in my life that I’ve never really pursued, after reading this and reading the daily scriptures I think its time to awaken the dreams and desires and after them like God wants me too.

In reading in Exodus verse 26 stuck out to me, “If you listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you."   Am I really listening to the voice of the Lord?  Am I paying attention to what He really has to say to me? That sure has me thinking and looking at myself to make sure I’m paying attention to God.  He has been speaking to me about different areas of my life and now its time to make sure I am doing what He says I need to do.  If we only sit still and listen we will hear His voice and know without a doubt that it’s Him speaking to us.

Daily Devotional

2 Timothy 1:6
"Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you…".

Do you need some freshness in your life today? It’s probably time to stir up what God has placed on the inside of you. It’s time to stir up those gifts, stir up those dreams, and stir up those talents inside. Start stretching yourself. You are meant to dream and to pursue the desires God has placed in your heart.

The Scripture tells us that without vision, people perish. If you don’t have a dream, you’re not really living the way God intends. You’re merely existing. Maybe at one time you had a dream, but you went through some disappointments or setbacks. Things didn’t turn out the way you planned. But here’s a key: when one dream dies, dream another dream.

Just because it didn’t work out the way you had it planned doesn’t mean that God doesn’t have another plan. You cannot allow one disappointment or even a series of disappointments to convince you that your dream is over. It’s time to dig your heals in and hold on to the promises in your heart. As you stir up those God-given dreams and desires, He’ll pour out His favor and blessings and fulfill every desire in your heart!

A Prayer for Today:

Father in heaven help me to give past disappointments and failures to you and help me walk in the dreams and desires You have for me.

I Corinthians 15:57 - But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
