WHATS HAPPENING WEDNESDAY 2-3-10
yesterday was pretty boring day I guess , we went to town and bought groceries and came home put them up and then I clean some on the house. Today will be floor cleaning day since my grandson will be in school all day. And changing bed linens and doing laundry. isn’t life exciting and fun ? Lol I guess we all have to have the boring days to then have the fun times later.
Another grandson, my sons son called me yesterday and ask if he could come down and see us for a couple of days. Well that was surprising and great..He works in Springfield, manager of one of the *** and Gos. Not sure which one but he works very long hard hours and has gotten someone to cover for him for a couple of days so he could get off.
Im glad that he chose me to come see. Bless his heart he hasn’t had an easy life so far im hoping that one day he will be able to have a good life. His health isn’t the best in the world either for someone so young…
SUSAN: LOL I bet you wondered where those other patients went on the unit lol I didn’t mean I had 20 on the unit I had the unit and then 10patients too . Lol I write crazy too sometimes.
Oh well about the groundhog we would have 6 more weeks of winter even if he didn’t see his shadow or so according to the calendar….that seems like a long time to wait for pretty weather don’t it.. Im so sick and tired of cold and snow and cold and rain .
I bet that is what happened to you too was your blood sugar dropped…..be careful and pay more attention lol .
Can you work in the kitchen with an open toed shoe on? Hope you don’t drop any hot grease on it or something else.
Hope that the first day back went well for you .
JO::::: as nurses we know that we are pretty apt to have someone to watch us . That is why I try to do it right all the time. When state comes in for an inspection they have someone to follow the medication aide or nurse around the whole round of medicine. Now you talk about nerve wracking , it is , and you wind up getting behind and then that is points off because you only have a certain window of time to give meds in …I just hope I am never on duty when they come in ….too much stress for me …that is one reason that I like working the evening shift , they have usually seen everything they want to see and are in the conference room with the DON and administrator and other big wigs telling them what all they found ….lol
Yes I saw the notice for the meeting there for you all in that area. That is great now if people will go to it and support it. It get very discouraging to not have people come to the meetings . I hope it works out really good for you all.
Lol I know several people that are like your husband…they hear of some new disease and they they have it too…I guess it maybe in the long run keeps them healthy cause they see their doctors more than the ordinary person does….or like me I keep saying well if it doesn’t go away I will go see about it. And maybe a year later Im saying the same thing. Lol usually I know what is wrong with me before I go to the doctor and sometimes that seems to make them angry if I tell them what it is before they even examine me …like I tell them yeah but I have to come to you to get the medicine for it . If I could write my own prescriptions then I wouldn’t have to go in at all .
JEANIE RAE:::: im glad that you figured out that you will have to eat a little more or higher protein anyway…there is no way that you at the size you are now and with diabetes can live on what we do. But wont be long it seems like right after surgery the diabetes starts changing…some people never have to take another shot or pill or anything but there are others that do for a while some for a couple of weeks some for a couple of months. But it will go away isn’t that a miracle in itself? But like the rest of us you will have to watch for low blood sugar. If you eat enough protein it usually doesn’t happen….I know if I eat less than 80grams I get low blood sugar attacks. But if I keep it between 80 and 100 I do ok. I know a lot of the doctors say for women between 60 and 80 but that doesn’t work for me. Maybe im a man and don’t know it lol ….
Maybe the grandbaby called when you were asleep so he could talk and you wouldn’t lol .
I told Kim that she needed to show them how to call me if they needed something. It might come in handy some time…
You know since you are eating right you might see your doctor and ask him about your meds they may be too much or too strong for you as long as you eat right. Might be away to decrease them now…I just thought of that. Because sometimes when we get people into the nursing home and they are diabetics their meds are too strong for them after they have been there for a couple of weeks because they are eating right and not all the time like they were at home. And they say a weight loss of just 10 pounds makes a difference. So it might be good to go see him/her and see what you can find out.
To keep from getting nervous about surgery and thinking it is far away, try to plan something for each day…put it on the calendar as if it is really important. Even if it is just cleaning out your closet or dresser or something like that. Having something planned is the key…fill the calendar up with stuff …see if that doesn’t make the days go by faster.

Max told me last night when I got home he has a Signoidoscopy scheduled tomorrow morning at 9:30. Ugh.....the stomach pain is back. I wanted to jump out of the car and run away. The GI doc is doing the Sig rather than a Colonoscopy so Max doesn't have to go off the Coumadin. He needs a driver so I will be taking him tomorrow morning. He has been complaining about this stomach pain for several years and no one can find it. I think he needs to quit hanging around with old folks and quit listening to all their aches and pains plus problems their friends have.
My friend went my surgeon's seminar but she doesn't qualify for Aetna to pay because she has none of the co-morbidities. The excess weight is there but no other health issues. I don't know if she could be disciplined enough to do the RNY. She is a lovely person, very kind and thoughtful. She puts everyone else first. I can just see her running out of vitamins or protein and not buying them because she's short on money because the kids needed this or that. She is a big stress eater. She will start counting WW points in the morning then by noon someone wants to go out for lunch and she blows it.
I got my Leslie Sansone DVDs yesterday but didn't have a chance to look at them. I watched Biggest Loser instead. Gee, but I want that red team out of there. I was so glad Mark (I think that's his name) got immunity and also had a great loss. He was so proud of himself.

Good Morning Mimi....
I cut and pasted what you wrote to me a couple of days ago so I could answer you below....
BEC:::::: im like Jo you make me tired with all that exercise. Good grief if I did all of that or even half of that I would be so much thinner I know, I know! I SHOULD BE but unfortunately I still LOVE food! I just wish I had your perseverance. As I said earlier I feel like that is a direct gift from the Lord or I wouldn't be able to keep it up.... You are doing really good with the exercise ball arent you? I had to laugh at the ball last night I got done with my crunches and got off the ball and it was all lop sided! I guess I need to put more air in it. I tortured the poor ball! ~tee hee Are you noticing any difference in your core toneing? I think so but I'm not real sure as I still have a good layer of fat right there... I'm doing fairly well every place else considering where I came from... but right in my "trunk" is my problem area. Does it still hurt your back or is that better too. yes it hurts but not since I do the crunches right after the meds take effect it makes it tolerable at least. I need to get mine out and work on it again since planting season will be here before long and will help me get in shape for that too. I only do the crunches with it right now... I could do the push ups too... maybe I will add that later... I do the crunches for my stomach, the weights for my upper body and then the walking/jogging for my legs and fat burning.... it seems to be working for now at least... may try something else when I reach my goal weight... I'm just struggling with that... this last 20/30 lbs are hanging on like concrete!
You sure have had it with your teeth lately havent you? egads I sure have and now that the swelling has gone down again I think there might be another bone chip in there! That would just be incredible AGAIN... NO WAY! I HATE going to the dentist! It feels like there is a "splinter" in there... Was this dental work that needed done for awhile or did they just all of a sudden get bad on you? I had a tooth that had to be worked on... then since I had some bad teeth earlier next to the one it meant that there were too many gone and I will have to have a bridge. So they are working toward that... but it is so expensive that I will have another crown this year and then the bridge next year.
You demand so much from yourself , you know you will never be perfect , and yes I know we should keep trying but you sure do have more determination that most p eople I know of. Lol wish I could be more like you on that front also. Boy I just admire you all to pieces lol How sweet those words are! But golly I sure don't feel like I deserve them. I have not gotten the rest of this weight off and I'm struggling something terrible with the food choices...so while I refuse to "give up" I know I struggle and need to stay extremely focused or I will fail... I wish I was like some of you girls and just could not eat very much or didn't want it... I can't eat very much but my mind still says I want it. How do you overcome that?
So you got your new Gator? YES!!! Those are so nice I would love to have one for around here. It is a 2007, like brand new... it only had 18 hours on it and had never been off the pavement... still had those little stubbies new tires have on them... a man in Harrison used it to demo his atv feeders at farm shows... and we got it for a GREAT price as new ones goes... still a chunk of change but we were thrilled to get it... Paul had been looking for several months. But guess I will continue to use the wheel barrow. ~tee hee I understand that one! It really hurts the back! ~ha I don’t think I could use one here anyway , too many flower beds and pathways couldn’t get anywhere except arount the outside edges lol . No I don't think it would do you much good but you could still take some nice joy rides but then you have the "ultimate" for that purpose! Paul would have to put mats a lot of places for me because I would be wanting one to haul all the rocks and dirt I need moved here and there. That's funny you would say that because he is already wanting to haul fence posts so he is going to get a hitch for it and hook the little trailer to it for that! Aren't we a mess! ~ha That is what I tell Joe about having our truck that is what it is far to haul manure, dirt and rocks. Why else would you have one??? you are too funny! Well of coarse! ~tee hee
Well got busy on my cabinets and thought I had the wrong color but come to find out I tested it on the wrong piece of wood... my cabinets are mahogany on the inside and oak on the outside and doors...so it did not look right... so I tested it on the "oak" and it will do fine I think. Maybe now I will get it today... I'm getting tired of that job hanging over my head so I better just buckle down and do it...
They say we are to get 2~4 inches tonight and tomorrow... that will put a damper on my plans for the weekend if it happens. I heard on the news that they were predicting another 18 inches yet for this season in the KC area. We are only about half done with the bad weather if that is the case... I'm like all of you and am so ready for spring! I've been extra cold this winter it seems.
Well I hope you all have a good day I think maybe Paul is going to walk the shooting range road with me today... it's the hardest walk in this area... very big hills on that one... you feel like you've done something when you get done with it. Back in the day I would of told my self I was plumb crazy if I thought I was going to do that! ~ha
Have a blessed day all,
Bec
