WHATS HAPPENING MONDAY FEB 1st

For two days sat and sun both we had sun and it did a great job of melting the snow on the roads and pathways that we have walked upon….still plenty of snow in the yard but it is beginning to shrink…

Yesterday on Sunday , Kim and Ryan came down and brought the babies. Oh I forgot they said they weren’t babies anymore lol…so the big (little )kids . Lol they are so cute. And they had to show me what they had gotten me which seeds they picked out to go in the flower pot bouquet…was so cute. The flower pot has a metal sign around it with a angel and a bee in it with a big bow tied around it and then the seeds put up on sticks in the pot…really cute idea for someone that loves gardening. …they were really proud of the ones they had picked out too. Those two are just so cute. And very well behaved for kids nowdays. Unless they are tired or hungry then I guess none of us behave too well at those times do we lol I know I don’t. …

Last night I looked out and the snow is off the solar lanterns in the garden and they are shining so bright on the snow. Looks like a fairy tale land out there. ….wish you all could see it. .I took some pictures but don’t think it will show up on them like it really looks.

BARBARA :::: SO glad that you are feeling better day by day….that is the way to feel I think we learn that as we get older. Just take things day by day and if need be hour by hour…

Hope your nephew is doing ok , it is never easy to lose your parents ever even when you are older than 31...when we lost our Dad it hurt but it was like we have another parent , we have mama but when she died we all felt so left behind and alone. And none of us were 31.…I guess I was about 62 then and I still feel alone and loney for her and daddy ….so many times I wish I had one or both of them to talk to about things. So yeah you are right it is always hard to lose your parents.

Take care of yourself….and keep that swelling down…you will be up and on your feet soon enough….

SUSAN ::::: so glad that you are feeling good except for the soreness from falling. But you know something happened don’t know what but something….how long had it been since you had eaten? What did you eat before you went to work? Go back and chart all of it and see….it could have been that you didn’t eat enough calories before you started working , not enough water….something ….there had to be something.

Just don’t let it happen again. I know me if I don’t eat enough and try to work I will get weak and almost pass out. Or at least I have I don’t let it happen any more. I can not go more than 3 hours without eathing something high in protein. At least 15 grams …

JO::::: thanks for the Happy birthday wishes , doesn’t matter if they are late my birthday was late lol …wouldn’t have had one at all if Kim and the babies hadn’t wanted me to have one.

Ive had people to tell me that the amount I eat is less than a two year old will eat…lol in fact today I sat beside my great granddaughter who will be 3 this month and she ate more than I did. She had about a half cup of spag. I had about ¼ cup of just the meat sauce, she ate 3 pieces of garlic bread I ate none. She ate about ¼ cup of broc with cheese. I ate about ¼ cup of broc with cheese and I ate 4 small slices of pickled beets. Lol so yeah I really think she out ate me lol ….

If someone had showed me that was the amount I would eat 3 years out after surgery I would have laughed at the time I think….

Do you think the egg you couldn’t eat was because of the flat bread or the egg itself….about the only way I can eat one anymore is if it is soft scrambled …anything else and yuck it just wont go down….and before surgery I loved them….

JEANIE RAE:::::: that sounds neat to be able to get to a gym ….I sure wish I could just so far from down here in the boonies.

Yes my granddaughter said the roads were all just great. I was glad when they decided to leave before it got dark tho …never know and you cant see that well at night where something might have frozen back..

Like Jo said I think you may be trying to eat like you will after surgery. Honey you cant possible do that it will get you down in a hurry I would think not sure but you r stomach right now is too big to fill up on tiny amounts. ….just eat high protein and low carbs like an Atkins diet ok? And it will keep your blood suger lower and you will get the idea of the diet later. Chew and chew , lay your fork down after each bite. Chew and chew again ….don’t drink with your meals that is another thing you can get in the habit of that will help you. ….take care and will be praying for you. don’t want you to get sick….

SUSIE::::::: that might be better able to handle with him in a trailer in a park ….at least it wouldn’t cost you all so very much….

Im with you about wanting warmer weather…im ready for spring already….and this month Feb always seems to me like it is the longest month of the year. Crazy I know but I always feel like it is. I guess cause I want it to be warm in March and it never is. Lol

You can belly ache all you want to here you know….we will just belly ache with you.

Things will all work out soon you know , they always do don’t they? May not be exactly like we want but oh well it wont always be the same as it is right now, nothing stays the same ….love you and hope you have a better day today.

Good Morning Mimi and Mo...

Golly it's been a rough few days... had two teeth extracted 3 weeks ago today and the good dentist left a bone in there and it got infected and hurt like the dickens... had to finally go back last Wednesday and he had to open it up and clean it out and remove the bone...OUCH! Just with a bit of deadner OUCH!  It has taken a few days for the swelling to go down I just wasn't even feeling human then along comes some other issues and it seemed like a long long week but it's a new week now and I'm starting to feel half way human again so maybe I will be able to get some things done this week that needed done last week ~ha.

Put a damper on the excitement of my new "ride" for sure.  And boy did I NOT want to exercise all those days but I did thus still not breaking my continuous streak.  I have exercised alot more in the house this winter than I did last winter...you know "wearing out the carpet" ~tee hee  Mimi I am up to 75 crunches on my exercise ball and 50 reps with my weights for each of the different moves, 5 lb weights.  And then either 2 miles running or 4 miles walking.  That's enough for one day for sure.  I am trying real hard to drink all my liquids each day as well. I have to do better about not drinking with meals.  I've gotten sloppy about that and need to get back to doing it right.  It seems I constantly have to be aware of what I am doing or I want to go back to old habits.  I guess I will always have to deal with that but know also that it has to be done.

Paul cut a floor mat yesterday for my gator and is going to get a stock mat to go in the bed so it does not get all scratched up... need to put some kind of lights on the back so when I have it out at night I will not get hit... and maybe some reflectors... there are places where they go but they are empty?  Not sure why but will get them on.

Barb...so sorry to hear of your and your nephew's loss.  I'm sure one of those things you can't fully understand till you have been there.  But my prayers are with your family.

Susan ~ golly girl you take care of yourself.  Praying that you will find out what happened or that it sure won't happen again.

Susie ~ Praying wisdom for you concerning your son.

Jeanie Rae ~ Wishing you the very best concerning your surgery!  Everything you can do now will only make it easier on you when you do have surgery... Mimi gives you good advise...high protein/low carb meals will also build you up and help you heal better and faster after surgery.  That not drinking 30 minutes before and after thing at the meals is hard for me and I have to get busy and make that a good solid habit. I'm not there for sure and that's not good.  I'm a mess... I don't want to drink when I should and want to drink when I shouldn't...sigh.  I wish you the very very best in finding a routine that works for you...it will take patience and persistence but you can do it for sure!

Jo ~ I'm going to try the ricotta dessert... Marilyn one time brought a choc mousse type dessert to a support meeting and it had the ricotta, she put in the blender and some other things... it was very high in protein and sure yummy I can't remember all the things she put in it... but maybe she will read this and post that recipe again.

Also going to make Peggy's protein souffle... I've still not done that and I KNOW it's wonderful... she made it for me a couple of different times and it was such a good comfort food and not bad for you!  High protein as well.

Well friends it's time to get to the exercise and then maybe just maybe I will go ahead and tackle the cabinets that are still waiting to be stained?  Seems like a huge job right now but know if I would just get started it would not be as bad as I'm thinking it will be.

Have a good day all.

Bec, you wore me out with your exercise talk.  I'm sure I lost a few pounds just reading about your exercise.  Wish I could get as motivated as you.  I have Leslie Sanson'e DVDs coming and I'm hoping they will motivate me.  Going to the gym is about the last thing I want todo on these cold evenings.

I like ricotta cheese mixed with a little Splenda and vanilla or some Divinci syrup.

Jo...

I've not heard of Leslie Sanson'e?  Where did you hear of her?  What type of exercise does she do?  I hope you like it and it does motivate you.

I feel like me being able to stick with the exercise is a special gift the Lord gave me for what ever reason... it certainly is NOT my M~O to be able to be this tenacious with anything.  But for all the struggles I still have with food and other things I'm so thankful that I do not have to struggle with exercise and it does give me the "wherewith-all" to keep up the good fight with the things I do still struggle with.

I feel for anyone that has to struggle with anything as it can be so discouraging at times and sometimes I just get tired of the the effort it takes... but sure not to the point of giving up... guess that's a good side of stubbornness... Lord knows there are more bad sides to it, it seems! ~ha

I think of you often when you talk about not liking to exercise and always wish the best for you concerning it... it sure is a day by day deal isn't it?  It's still like that for me in "choosing" what food goes into my mouth and what doesn't.

I'm rooting for you about the exercise!!!  Know you will see your personal goals met at some point!

Bec, you have put such a guilt trip on me now.  I feel like I need to go out and run around the block!!

I ordered the DVDs from QVC.  I know you can get them at Walmart or Target but maybe not this edition.  I have some of her walking tapes and do like them.  Go to QVC.com to view them.  They are $39 and some change.

Hard to believe it's February.  That's so sweet that the kids picked out seed for you.  I do like well behaved children and that's hard to find these days.

What I can consume at a meal is very small. Snacking between meals could be a problem if I didn't control it.  You can eat a lot of stuff if you graze too much.  That's experience talking.  That's why I'm tracking every morsel I take in.

The egg problem is the taste of the egg.  For some reason I thought a scrambled egg sounded so good but it wasn't.  A few weeks ago I made a Chili Relenos casserole and it was mostly eggs.  Just couldn't eat it and couldn't give it to the dogs because it has green chilies in it.  No more eggs for me.  Not a big loss.  The only food I really miss is hot Picante sauce.  My pouch gets really grouchy when I feed it spicey food.  Before surgery, the hotter the better.

My new chili recipe was okay but not great, way too watery, more like soup.  I didn't make cornbread because of the carbs......do I get a gold star Jan??

I have this wonderful cornbread recipe called "Tippin's Sweet Cornbread" it's just like what you use to get at the restaurant and it's simply fab... if you passed THAT up you need more hurrays!!! ~ha

Good Morning OH,

Jan~I found out today why I need to eat snacks, I am diabetic and have been losing weight, only ate a bowl of cereal with skim milk for breakfast, then a small glass of orange juice to take my iron pill with, that was 10 am, at 11:45 started feeling light headed and by the time I knew what was happening was sweatin like a pig, took my blood sugar, it was only 57, first time I have ever had a reading that low. So I will be snacking during the day, don't want to feel like that again.

Sounds like you had a good visit with your Grandaughter and the babies, I just tell mine that they are babies to me until they are married and have thier own babies. LOL. It's so special when they bring something like that because they know you will love it.

Bec~Thank-you for the words of encouragement, helps when I have trouble rembering what I'm doing and that I have to keep on doing the right things. Jan has helped me in so many ways already, I am grateful for her and all the others on this board that have gone before me and can relate to me their experience.

Susie~Been where you are and sometimes we have to find more affordable ways to help the ones we love. Sometimes getting back to basics will help motivate someone to find a way to be self sufficient. Think of you often and you are in my prayers.

Jo~I have managed to keep a food log for 3 weeks now. I am more aware of what I'm eating and will continue keep a log, they really do help.

Susan~hope you are feeling better. I found out today how easy it is to forget to eat and get the low blood sugar, doesn't feel good. Take care.

Hope everyone has a good day, need to finish up here and go take a nap.
