they have added this share button that anything you type on here can be put on facebook or any of the other chat pages? i for one dont want that as im not sure i want every one in the world to be able to access my life here. and some of the things we talk about here are quite personal that i dont want spread everywhere. do you? if not go down to the bottom and lets tell them all that we dont appreciate their latest nonesence and we would appreciate it if they would take it off. ....if it was up to me it would be ok but others can share my posts as well as theirs. dont like that at all

This has been discussed on other OH forums and here is what the other members are suggesting we do if we do not like it. By the way I have not read ONE member who has liked it... go figure
I clicked on the Contact Us icon at the bottom of the page.

"I have recently noticed that you have added the share button. I don't think that you should have that because many of the members want to keep their WLS private. I am deactivating my account if this option isn't removed.

Me either Jan but I value my privacy even more than OH and I told them so in my message.
I also mentioned that I always suggest our new patients at the info seminars come here to research their choice of surgery. I explained to OH that won't happen again if this is not removed.
They have really stirred up the membership with this blunder. So we will see if they actually do listen to their members.

Jan;
If you go on the main board...the first post is from the founder and addresses this issue.
Don't know if this will help the issue for you.

Hi I am going to my surgeons office in the beginning of Feb. If he approves my blood work. It is to set a date and to get my last blood work done. I have been a smoker for many years and the battle goes on...My health (blood pressure, blood sugar,back pain) is all worsening quickly. I messed up and smoked again! I am so scared they wont do my surgery. Can you tell me about your last appointmentn befor you had surgery? Thay really dont tell me much, I feel in the dark about the whole thing. My tryglicerides are over 700, The Dr said he didnt want to do surgery on me with it that high, but my main Dr. said that is part of the reason for the surgery. Basicly I just want to hear some ones experience with pre-op. Any suggestions on what I need to be doing right now would be very appreciated. Thank you.

What are they thinking?  I consider my comments here very personal and do not want them shared on Facebook, Twitter or anywhere else.

I sent them my response to contact us.

Sorry to tell you all that once you have posted on any message board, it is open for the entire world to see.  It isn't going to matter who has a button or who doesn't soon.  They are all going to inter change, and if you google your ID name there isn't any telling what will come up. So, by the interacting of both, you get it all done in one spot.  I have watched the younger members of OH doing more and more blogging out of OH and by them doing that OH had lost a lot of regulars, so by using the share button it can be a great way for everyone to keep in touch even after they stop blogging on OH.   I hope that my close friends would find me on facebook and keep in touch.
Have a great day.

Jan you and the other members are right. OH is what helps me through this and since I am just beginning my journey, I want the privacy I had. Being a facebook member I prefer not to have my private life made public, while I won't quit OH right now because I need a way for daily contact with my support people, it will make me think twice about posting.
