I am thinking of trying the pouch diet, does anyone know where I can find the whole diet and has anyone had any success with it?  I need to get a jump on it.  Thanks in advance----Penni

Hi Penni...

I know Jan and Andy know where to find the "5 day Pouch Test"...

I wanted to tell you that I had great success with it... it really did shrink my pouch back down to surgery size or if it didn't it sure felt like it... I can't eat near as much as I was but then I am focusing more on the dense meats and they set heavier on the pouch for sure and do not feel near as good as the "slider foods" even the good ones like chili, egg salad, cottage cheese etc etc.

I would encourage you to give it a try I'm sure Andy or Jan will see this and lead you in the right direction.  Jan posted it on her What's Happening not too long ago I should of sent an e~mail to myself and put it in my recipe file.

It's not real easy to do but if you stick with it ... you will be rewarded that's for sure.

Good Luck to you... you can do it.

Thanks Jan but the website you sent me is something I have to buy.  Do you know of any others you don't have to spend money on?  thanks again, Penni

I got the basics on that website and just used what they gave me for free. I'm on day three and it is working. I agree with Bec - have to eat those dense proteins - crumbled up, chopped up stuff goes down too easy and doesn't stay in the pouch long enough. Also, I was drinking too close to my meal and too soon after-ward so I've stopped that too. And, just eating one cup and eating it in 15 minutes helped me. I tend to eat over a long period of time - and eat too much. The first two days were so easy for me - did them over the weekend when I'm at home. DH ate leftover chili and canned soup and I made him spaghetti & meat sauce last night. I didn't really hate him for eating stuff I couldn't have. Then today I ate two scrambled eggs for breakfast and tuna for lunch and will eat tuna after work. I also brought hard boiled eggs with me in case tuna didn't sound good. It's amazing how the tuna sits in the pouch when you don't use mayo to slick it up!!! I hadn't had plain tuna since Weigh****chers days and it was a shock how little it took to make me feel the "fullness". I know those of you who have kids to feed have a harder time because you can't put your whole family on the Pouch diet but it is worth the effort I think.
Hugs to you,
Lana
