Has anyone had any luck getting UnitedHealth Care to pay for a tummy tuck? Thanks!

Golly wish I had better news for you gals but I have the Choice Plus High Plan and there is a total written exclusion even for medical reasons.

I understand the Choice Plus II is one of the better plans and they still won't even consider it... wish someone would read this and tell us how they got them to pay for it.  I knew even before I had the surgery that the tt would not be an option in my plan for any reason and if I wanted to have it done it would be self pay.

I understand it is around $7000, does anyone know if that is about right?

Hope you find a way...

I had a follow up visit yesterday w/ my surgeon; he said it runs starting at $5,000.

Is that total?  Dr., hospital, labs, anesthesia?

Jan--

Now that is odd! I hope something changes about that for you. Double edged sword scenario.

Yes, that's what I was told yesterday. Some do in-patient hospital and some do outpatient in office. I would be nervous to do it in the office--that's just me though.
