This morning I sit here and reflect a bit on my life and how the Lord has certainly blessed me.  I thought back on how some days I have all the strength I need to get through the day and some days I feel so weak(spiritually) that I don’t know how I will make it the rest of the day.  The Lord has really be teaching me things that I didn’t realize He was teaching me until now.  It’s amazing sometimes how the Lord shows us things and we don’t even realize it then it hits you square between your eyes.  In Psalms today a couple verses really hit me, verse 32 It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect.  Of course I’ve known that all along that our strength comes from God but for some reason this morning it was like a light bulb going off that God, our God, our Lord and Savior is where we get our strength from, the strength we need to over come laziness and get out there and exercise, the strength we need to push back from the table when we have had enough to eat, the strength we need to resist the temptations of eating the wrong food, it’s GOD who gives us that strength, but you know what?  We have to ask Him for it. Verse 33 goes on and says He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he enables me to stand on the heights. If he makes my feet as deer then there is no excuse for me not getting out there and walking, oh boy, did that hit me hard.  Verse 34 He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze. Don’t you think when we are tempted with food we ought not eat that we are doing battle? Who trains us for the battle? God, and you know when God trains us, He don’t mess around, He equips us with everything we need to be victorious. Verse 35 You give me your shield of victory, and your right hand sustains me; you stoop down to make me great. He gives us HIS shield of victory, well you know there is no way we can lose if we take His shield and use it.   Then I read on into Proverbs and was like, “duh!! Andy where has your head been" Verse 7 in Proverbs says Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom.  Though it cost all you have, get understanding. My my my, this goes right along with what God i****ting me with this morning, take His wisdom He has given us and use it, and get the understanding He has given us and run with it.  Verse 8 and 9 Esteem her, and she will exalt you; embrace her, and she will honor you. She will set a garland of grace on your head and present you with a crown of splendor." Isn’t that beautiful? See what taking His wisdom upon us will do for us?  Lastly, look what the word says will happen to us if we take His take what God says and apply it to our lives, verse 10 Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many. Doesn’t that just make you wanna shout? If we just listen to Him and take His word and run with it and apply to our lives the years of our life will be many, awesome!!!

Well I’m sorry this is so long this morning, we had no internet connection for awhile and God was really speaking to me volumes this morning while reading his Word, it’s been there all along for the taking, I just haven’t taken it, til now.  Now I’m gonna run with it!

Daily Devotional

"Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand"

(Ephesians 6:13, NIV)

Sometimes, people have problems because they are making poor choices or doing something wrong. But other times, people are having difficulties because they are doing something right.

When you're determined to fulfill your God-given destiny, and you're taking steps to improve your life or make a difference in your family or community, don't be surprised if you face opposition. The enemy is not going to just roll out the red carpet and watch you fulfill your God-given destiny. He'll do whatever he can to keep you from moving forward. The Apostle Paul said this, "A wide door of opportunity is open for me and there are many adversaries." I've found anytime you try to go forward in life, anytime you try to make progress, there will be opposition. But with God on your side, you can stand your ground! Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. If you're facing opposition today, keep standing, keep believing, keep hoping. Keep fighting the good fight of faith until you see the victory He has in store for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

" Heavenly Father, thank You for Your promise of victory. I choose today to take my eyes off my challenges and focus on You. Thank You for equipping me with Your armor so that I can stand strong in You. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

I Corinthians 15:57 - But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
