WHATS HAPPENING WEDNESDAY 1-20

Went to Andy and Susans yesterday before going to work. Took Susan a dress to see if she could wear it. It was my goal dress and I still havent gotten into it. It is a size 10 Ralph Lauren . I can get it on my it shows my belly too much. Pencil long skirt with a vest in the striped material they use for making some overalls. Really neat.

Saw their cute new black baby. She is adorable.

When we left I left my purse so had to turn around and go back lol

Was a good night at work. Busy but I like it like that. Makes time go by better. Everything was just fine till Joe called me and said oh yeah we got the light bill today. It is 425 dollars this month. Last month was 3hundred something . This is so stupid. don’t know what we will do . Guess just turn every thing off and see if they can charge us a thousand next month. don’t understand. We have barely use our heat this past month, choosing to bundle up instead. .

]well I guess all I make working will go to the elect company. Maybe we should just give the elect company and groc stores and gas stations everything we have and forget it .

Well guess im thru griping lol sure doesn’t do any good they are going to do what they want to that is for sure. I knew it was a mistake when we decided to go all electric. Well that will be changed and soon. Im going to spend the amount of that electric bill for a nice gas heater and hook it up to the propane tank we have . Phhhhhhffffffttttttttttttt

SUSIE:::: wish you had brought that 70s weather home with you. Lol so what is the son studying to become? Do you think he and the girlfriend are serious?

SUSAN::::: hope you can wear that outfit. Was neat to visit for awhile today.

JO::::: I have one of the walls in the kitchen of the guest house painted bright red. Enamel red in fact . I love it. Then I have lace chicken curtains on the windows. To paint beige over red is going to take a lot of paint and I mean a lot. That red will keep bleeding thru. If you use something like Kilz first it will help a lot.

Bec::: I put this on yesterdays but don’t know if you saw it or not:::::we had one of the infrared heaters for about 2 years. Day before yesterday it made a noise and died. Now it is nothing. And of course the warrantee is gone. Just our luck now left with a piece of expensive junk. I am going to call the company today and see if they repair them or send the parts shouldn’t be much to fix them a light bulb and a fan. Lol but I bet you money it will cost at least half of what we paid for it. Im ready to go back to kerosene lamps and candles and wood stoves.

I am ready to strangle my oldest. He called last night and his car won't start . Of course he wants a ride to work. He is draining us dry. I am working to pay his bills and I do not make enough. I am at my wits end and do not know what to do. I am ready to have him declared unable to care for himself. Does anyone know how I can do this. He has to have some kind of covered mental problem. I am a basket case worrying over him. I cannot keep him here. Something has to give or I am going to lose it.
Thank God my other child is doing well. He is in the arts and technology program @UT-Dallas. He works for the school and is teaching a junior level class while he continues his education. Not sure if he is going to go for his PHD but his girlfriend is almost finished with hers.

Keep me in your prayers.

I would pass out if I got a utility bill for over $400.  We are on level pay and our electric is about $80/month and gas is around the same.

I know painting over that red will make me see red.  I'll do the Kilz first.  What I should have done was paid $4 for a little sample can of paint to see if I liked it.  The previous owner painted all the rooms a color and used cheap paint.  The LR is a pretty shade of green, one BR is a yucky yellow and the other BT is dark brown.  I want to paint all the rooms the same color probably a beige.

Bec, thanks for the suggestion of the infra red heater.  I told Max it would be too cold to work out there in the winter but he was sure the little heaters would work.  Well, unless you're sitting right next to them, it's cold out there.

This fog is getting monotonous.  This morning you could hardly see in front of the car.
Max is feeling so much better after taking the antibiotic for a few days.  So, guess he does have Diverticulous.

Anyone watching Biggest Loser?  I would strangle Jillion if I was on there.  I couldn't stand someone in my face screaming.  Also, thought the others were hard on the really big guy, Mike?.

Good morning OH,

Had a busy day yesterday so didn't make it on here.

Jan I didn't go to Dr. Edward's meeting on Monday, when I checked the website to make sure there was one it didn't show a meeting. Gotta call the person that leads those and make sure when they have them. It's too far to drive only to find out there isn't going to be a meeting.

Oh well, I have the COF and if I can only make one meeting a month this is the one I will come to.

DH got a short run which paid for his gas but being an independent courier isn't a guaranteed job. Sometimes jobs are good mileage then sometimes you take what you get.

Jan we are all electric here, used to use wood heat and it did help keep the bills down, but with our lung problems we would spend most of the winter coughing and sick. After the remodel we tried a pellet stove, but DH would have to load the bags of pellets into the top and it got too difficult for him to lift. So our electric bills run above $300.00 from the time it first gets cold. The man the co-op sent out to help us figure out why the bills are so high says that the heating elements in our new furnace take a lot of power to warm up. We can't get level pay, when we tried they said it really wouldn't pay us to do that. So what are you supposed to do? My son has propane and a small house and it costs him around 275.00 to fill his tank, that lasts about a month, then he still has the electric bill, which runs the fan to blow the central heat to warm the house. They will get your money one way or another. Wish  I could go Solar with wind turbines, then I could sell them all our extra power.

JO~After we had our add on done I looked at paint and chose a dark red for the walls, my sons were gonna do a faux antique thing to make the walls look stressed by using a special roller and only covering the red with a beige that I absolutely loved and it looked like crap. We lucked out and since we had partally covered the red in the living room we used the beige and it covered it. We had only painted red on one wall in the dining room and left it, painted the rest of the walls beige, The living room and dining room are open so the walls connect but somehow it works.

We bought an infrared ventless propane, just enough to heat the living room and kitchen area if the power goes out. It doesn't take electricity to run and we only have a 100lb propane tank hooked to it, after they hooked it up and did the initial run it really got warm in the room quickly. It cost $169.00. We will only be using it if the power fails, that way we can stay home, usually if the power fails it's because of Ice and we don't want to try to drive the roads out here on ice.

Hope everyone is doing good. gonna get my food log up to date and find something to keep me busy for awhile.

Talk to ya tomorrow

Hi Susan,

So sorry I forgot to post this earlier, I'm doing OK with the surgery, have my nutrion and excercise rehab appointments on the 26th, then I go to the behavioural class on the 8th of Feb. I think the reallity is starting to hit me because I have really had a hard time with the food for a few days. I am keeping a four week food log and trying to get everything entered and I can't believe the amount of food I can eat in one day. Thank-you for asking, I love having COF for support, it's important to know that people other than family cares.

Hi All...

Went to town this morning.  Crystal and I walked an hour at the Exhibition Center, it was a nice change.  Still have another round to go yet tonight with the weights and crunches.

Have not gotten the cabinets stained, hopefully by the end of the week yet?  Didn't feel too good yesterday and had to really make myself exercise as I had a pain in my side and it just hurt, but was better today.

Mimi sorry your heater went poop... a neighbor lady has one and says it cost her about $30 a month to run and it has cut way way down on her propane bill... have heard others say similar...hope you can get it fixed reasonably.  Don't' know how they would do in this house as I have the cathedral ceilings throughout?  Would have to have two of them for sure.

Boy was it wet and sloppy today and only a peek of sun... hope tomorrow is better.
