Lightbulb!!!

I just re-read Kaye's pouch test site and a lightbulb went off in my head. She said she always preferred to eat soft moist proteins because she could eat more and it didn't hurt her pouch!!!
Just a thought - over the last 5 days I've made ground beef soup, chicken soup, chili and Kung Pao chicken - all of which are soup or almost. Of course that's why I like them - get more food into my pouch without the feeling of tightness. What a dummy - and I'm three years out. I'm going to start the pouch test on Friday or Saturday - depends on what DH has in mind for us. It just amazes me how much we need to continue to read and learn. It's so easy to slip back into old habits and none of the things I ate was in itself bad but every day - come on, Lana!!
Back to basics for me. I need some basic training and I can do it!!
I'm a tough old broad - and that's what I love to be.
Hugs and love to all of you dear friends.

Heya Lana,

I was like you, making soups and chili and stuff like that for supper because it really goes down good and sets better.  I was getting to where I was eating to much and like you was slowly slipping back into those old nassy habits but when I did the pouch test it dawned on me that again  was eating wrong, no wonder they consider soups and chili and stuff like that "slider" foods, they slide right on out that pouch, ai yi yi.  When I eat the dense meat it dont sit as well but then I sure dont eat near as much and have that "full" feeling.  I've started doing the pouch test once a month now, it sure helps me stay on track and also helps me stay away from carbs, which I dont eat very much of but still helps take away those cravings we have sometimes.  Hang in there, once ya do that pouch test you'll even feel better.

Hope to see ya monday night!!

Andy
