Daily Bible Reading - Tuesday - January 19th

Reading about Joseph is one of my favorite stories in the bible.  Joseph was a good guy, it really seems the Lord is testing him and so far Joseph isn’t giving in to the temptations that come before him, yet people lie against him and do him wrong but Joseph never loses site of the fact that the Lord is with him no matter what happens to him.  Every where Joseph is he always finds favor with people, even in jail the Lord gave him favor with the jailer and he was put in charge.  It just amazes me how the Lord works things out in our lives, even in the mist of trouble we can always count on God to be with us and help us every step of the way as long as we are in right standing with Him.  I just love it how God meets us where we are at, whether it is on top of the mountain or at the lowest part of a valley, He is always there to lead, guide and direct us in the ways He wants us to go.  God is so good to us, not part of the time but ALL of the time.

Today’s Reading

Genesis 39:1-41:16
Matthew 12:46-13:23
Psalm 17:1-15
Proverbs 3:33-35

Daily Devotional

"No weapon formed against you shall prosper…"
(Isaiah 54:17, NKJ)

As a believer in Jesus, you have certain privileges because you belong to Christ. When you chose Him, God put a blood line around you that the enemy cannot cross. As long as you're keeping Him first place, you have a hedge of protection, a hedge of favor, a hedge of mercy surrounding you like a shield. When difficulties come, God says that because you're His child, because you honor Him, even though that problem has formed, in the end it is not going to prosper. When it's all said and done, it's not going to harm you. God is going to turn it around and use it to your advantage. That's your heritage as a believer!

Notice it doesn't say we'll never have problems. No, life is full of difficulties. The promise God is making to us is that when things do come against us, because you're in covenant relationship with Him, you can stay in peace knowing that it is not going to prosper. He has already paved the way for you to live in victory in every area of your life!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

" Father in heaven, thank You for the promises found in Your Word. I choose today to accept Your truth which sets me free. I declare by faith that no weapon formed against me shall prosper. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

Andy... how true it is that the Lord will meet us at the very point of our need.  It may not be the answer we want all the time but He sure is attentive to look out after our very best interest.

Reminds me of a time when He so clearly showed me how He has the power to take care of me!  That memory has been brought to my attention several times of recent so I know the Lord is trying to tell me it's just as real in my cir****tances today as it was when He showed it to me in the first place.

I sometimes need to go back and "redig" my wells so to speak and get encouragement from what I "know" to be the truth of the Lord as pertains to my personal life and experiences.

Wonder in the years that came how many times Joseph looked back and remembered the awesome things that happened to him and drew strength from them?

Bec I can sure relate to you on how God has reminded you of things He's done in the past, I too have been reminded several times lately of how He took us through different cir****tances in the past and that He'll do it again, just have faith.

I could read the story of Joseph over and over and be blessed every time.  Reading that story I seem to learn something new every time and get so blessed.  It's an amazing story of how an amazing God will see you through no matter what we are going through.  I really think God wants us to draw strength from things that have happened to us, it sure gives me strength.
