WHATS HAPPENING JANUARY 16

I weighted this morning and I have lost the five pounds that I gained plus 3 more extra….so feel lots better about me and know something else. Today Joe thawed out a half of an orange date nut cake that I made before Christmas…..I ate a small , really small slice and immediately started sweating, and shaking like I was going to pass out….dumping big time. Why did I eat that after going all week on this 5 day pouch test . Crazy ,? YeaH? BUT!!!!! Does prove that the week of cleaning out my system worked and I wont eat anything like it again .. Now that isn’t possible but I am going to try to not do anymore no-nos. we can know things and still mess up cant we. I know I can ….crazy I guess. But you know what is so great about having gastric bypass surgery? We don’t have to be perfect. We can mess up and realize it and decide that the feelings that we got from eating something wasn’t worth that so it is marked off the list of what you will and wont eat. But also we don’t have beat ourselves up over messing up. We can start over again as many times as we have to ..

I got called by the nursing home in Forsyth yesterday ,went, in and filled out paper work, she wants me to come in Monday and Tuesday to get orientated…to where things are kept and if anything is different than it was the last time I was there. And they have raised the wages since I was there last ….so that didn’t hurt my feelings. So im going to work again for awhile. don’t know how long I will last but want to get some things paid.

JO:::::I don’t think weighing yourself daily is so awful bad , at least you know is you are gaining. But you need to know that your weight will Fluctuate a lot.

Hey if y ou still have the OH magazines and want to get rid of them you can send them to me….would love to take them off your hands. Lol. I thought there might be somethings in there that some of my group could use…

Hey keep up the good work of going to the gymn….pretty soon it will be a habit. And that is what we need to do. Some people become obsessed with it and that is good at least lots better than none or being obessed with food or other things.

The snow is totally gone down here. Im like you that is enough don’t want anymore this year at all.

BEC:::: oh how I wish I had been there with you to walk…I might walk daily if I had someone to walk with now that I have my knees fixed. But trying to get Joe to walk it like trying to get a pig to fly. Lol

Im like you now about the dense protein now. Last night we had chicken and the piece I put on my plate was the size I have normally been eating and I could only eat about half of it.. It really helps get you to know your tummy again I think. \

There was a gator on Springfields Craig list the other day for 4000 dollars was 2006 is that too much , don’t have any idea of the price of them except I know they are expensive.

JEANIE RAE::::::Well sounds like you are on your way girl….a lot of people say that after surgery they didn’t like the protein powder that they used before surgery but I did. Keep up the good work. And if you are using the protein for snacks it will help you to give up some things that you eat now.

That will be good if you and DH can go exercise together. Will be great. Lol im like you I couldn’t go in wal mart and just walk around lol I go in there for one thing and come out with all sorts of stuff.

When I first had surgery I had Joe to take my picture every month on my anniversary and I put them in my book. I could look back at the month before and see the difference in how I looked that month . It really is a good visual tool …lol had to laugh with you saying I was thin lol I don’t think so , im thinner than I was but the excess skin keeps me from thinking im thin. Wish I could have an extended tummy tuck like Barb did the other day.

Good Morning Jan and all my OH friends,

kind of quiet today, DH is in the bedroom watching his UFO shows, he also watches the history channel a lot which is OK with me, but I get tired of the same stories all the time.

I bought a hoover cordless power floor scrubber and got it at the first of the week. Before I mopped my floors with a swiffer mop and thought they looked pretty clean, man was I amazed. After initial charge I used it to do kitchen floor which about 15' x 12, had to dump the water out of the recovery tank after about 6' x 6' of floor the water was absolutely black. I just finished doing the laminate in the dining room and the same thing. So I guess swiffer isn't all that great after all.

Jan I wish I lived close to you, I need a walking buddy. Right now I just walk up and down the hall cause it's too muddy to walk up the drive way. I think we're gonna start going in to Springfield everyday now to see if we can get some jobs. If we can do that it will at least help pay for the gas. I'm also going to start going to Dr. Edwards support group. The more support I can get the easier it's gonna be for me.

I'm gonna have my Son take some, my DH is half blind, I think DS will take better pictures, at least he'll probably get me in them, can't say the same about DH.LOL

Well gonna get back to the house work. Have a good day everyone, talk to ya all tomorrow.

Jan, good for you and losing the pounds.  I should get my BE order Monday with the really good tasting protein powder.  I don't have much on hand right now.  I was down 3 lbs. this morning so I'm thinking the exercise has helped plus my watching what I eat.  I'm reading all labels for sugar info as well as carbs.  I looked at a package of WW ice cream treats, only 50 calories but 14 g of sugar.  I probably wouldn't like them anyway because I don't like ice cream.  Max always has a snack in the evening so I think I need one too.  I've started having a cup of decaf hot tea or the Chai tea.

I will get the magazines together and send to you.  They do have a lot of good info but no one I now around here is interested in them.  Email me your address.

Wish there was a support group in KC.  You would think as big as KC is there would be several.  Maybe I should try to start one.

I bet you will enjoy working at the nursing home if you've done it before.  It will be good to get out.

I bought a WW magazine and it has a lot of good information so then I started thinking maybe I should join to take off the 30 lbs. I want to lose.  But.....why would I pay $40 a month when I KNOW what to do.  That's $480/year.  Dumb idea.

I went to the gym this morning.  I do seem to be motivated to go and actually want to.  A woman on the Dr. Oz show was told to exercise 3 times a week which I think is doable.  My surgeon's exercise guru wants me exercising 7 days a week for an hour each time.

My GD is here and we're watching Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.   I'm hoping to avoid baking cookies.  That's what she wanted to do but then I had the movies so I'm hoping she will forget the cookies.  I don't need the temptation.

I am going to post a message re low carb diets and some questions I have.
