Daily Bible Reading - Friday - January 15th
Isn’t it just wonderful how our lives change as we make our way on our WLS Journey? When we take God on the journey with us our lives are forever changed not on physically but spiritually and mentally. If you look back before you had WLS you’ll see a different you. You will probably see how you’ve changed mentally and grown spiritually but most of all how you’ve physically changed and become healthier. To be honest, when I leave God out of my journey I find myself struggling big time, struggling mentally and spiritually but when I take God along on the journey things seem to be smoother and work better. Since reading and studying His word I find myself growing in ways I did not think possible. In reading today’s passages Proverbs really stands out at me today, it just seemed to really hit me between the eyes. Verse 16 says “Long life is in her right hand;
in her left hand are riches and honor." Having had the wls we now have longer life and in the end our lives are full of riches by having improved health, being off those meds you were on for years, being able to do things you couldn’t do before, isn’t our God so good. Verse 17 says “Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace." Isn’t your life full of good pleasures now that you’ve lost weight? We don’t need the pleasure of food anymore, we have other pleasures that are far better, having a healthier body, fitting into clothes you only dreamed about fitting into years ago. Going on this lifetime journey God has really filled my life with peace, more now then ever before, it’s a peace that is so hard to describe but yet so wonderful. Verse 18 says “She is a tree of life to those who embrace her;
those who lay hold of her will be blessed." When I read this verse I was like wow, being on the WLS journey is truly given me new life as it has each and every one of us. I have been so blessed being on this journey, not only physically blessed but mentally. God is so good, so so good, ALL the time. I can truly say that I am more blessed now then any other time in my life and I owe it all to God, its Him I give all the honor and glory, without having Him in my life I don’t think I would of made as far as I am and I know I would not be able to make it the rest of the way.

Daily Devotional
"Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all"
(Psalm 34:19, NKJ)
Aren't you glad we serve a Deliverer today? You might feel afflicted today, but God is working to bring you out of that difficult situation. It may not be in the way you thought, but you have to trust that God has your best interest at heart.
Afflictions can take on many forms—a sickness or hardship, a temptation, a coworker or family member. There are so many things that can come against us, but God promises in His Word that no weapon formed against us shall prosper! Those afflictions are only temporary. Stand in faith today believing that God is on your side. Remember, you and God are a majority. It doesn't matter what your cir****tances look like, get up every morning and say, “This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it." As you stand and trust the Lord, He will deliver you out of all your afflictions, and you'll see His hand of blessing in every area of your life.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
"Father in heaven, thank You for being my Deliverer. I trust that You have a good plan for me and that You are working behind the scenes on my behalf. Thank You for Your strength and peace in every area of my life. In Jesus' Name. Amen."
