Its been almost 5 years that i had surgery.Im doing really good.Started day of surgery at 355 been around 165.I got down to 145 for along time im happy at 165.Scares me some time that i gained 20 lbs but thats ok as long as i dont gain any more.I still cant eat alot at one meal im happy about that some foods still make me sick and thats ok to.I missed everyone here lot has changed in my life i need to get back posting on the boards.Hope everyone has a great day.

SHELLY!!!!!!! how neat to see you once again.....you know i never have gotten down to where the doctor said but that is ok with me as long as i dont gain any from here, which i haven so far , knock on wood.
we have missed you too. hope this will be the start of you coming back on the board all the time. you said a lot had changed in your life ....i think a lot changes in everyones life when they get healthy some good some bad but that is what life is about change ....so happy to see you here again...please dont stay away now that you have reconnected with us.

Wow!  You lost a lot of weight.  I'm 18 months out and haven't lost but 3 lbs. since July.  I'm happy with how I look and feel, but don't like the numbers on the scale.  I can't eat much at a meal.  For awhile I was eating too much between meals but I've stopped that. 

Before WLS I was a sweetaholic but after surgery sweets weren't so tasty.  Sugar makes me sick and I'm so glad.  It's strange how my tastes have changed.  So many foods I just don't like.....ice cream, turkey, eggs.  Not liking ice cream is unAmerican...LOL.

are you at your goal weight? how much more would you like to take off? what helps me and im sure you know this by now is drank more water and work out.i didnt like to work out at first but do now.i just had a knee replace ment and cant work out yet so im flipping out a little on that i want to stop smoking but not sure if thats a good thing to do right now.i need to eat better been doing bad on that got to get myself back in order and need everyone here to do that.this is such a good place to come for help.

My doctor wants me lose another 20 but I would like to lose 30.  I'm happy with my appearance but not the numbers on the scale. 

Last night I worked out 45 minutes.  I've been lazy about exercising, my least favorite thing to do.  I kept saying the weather was too bad to get out, but I got out to go to the library, the grocery store, Fashion Bug and Walmart so.......decided I really need to get back to exercising.  After I exercise I feel so good about myself. 

Before WLS, I drank a lot of water but I've gotten careless about it.  This week I've been monitoring my water much closer. 

Over the holidays I got very careless with my eating and ate too many sweets.  Last year I wouldn't touch anything with more than 7 grams of sugar.  The sugar doesn't give me any violent reactions but makes my tummy ache and I feel sick.
