WHATS HAPPENING THURSDAY 1-7-10

First off I want to apoligize to Andy , im really sorry but I forgot to bring your shovel by to you….I had it in the truck too. Just forgot it. Completely.

I got really upset about the fact that the doctor said George has fluid probably built up in his brain fromthe fall or/blood clot ….and needed an MRI stat until they called and found out his dad had taken him off his insurance and now nothing. I guess it wasn’t that bad or do they just let people die if you don’t have insurance? Do they ??? Surely not really. Any way if he did have a blood clot they would put him on coumadin and if it was fluid they would give lasix. So I put him on aspirin and drinking lots of caffine . I have him taking one aspirin a day don’t know what would be a good amount…

He went and talked to the recuriter at the national guard and they had him to take the practice test that they have them do and he aced it….the guy said man if you do that good on the real test they will let you name what ever you want to do in the service. Anything. So that was really good news.

I went an put my application in at the nursing home …she said right at this very moment they didn’t have anything but the population was going up and probably would be calling me soon. So we will see. I don’t know , they looked at me like I was an old woman lol oh well it was something I thought would help me see thru this horrible winter.

So far we didn’t have much extra snow. How about you all. I saw on tv how it was really snowing in Springfield. wasn’t here. May do more but so far nothing extra just cold.

ANDY::: im really very sorry that I forgot to have Joe drive by there. Knock me in the head the next time you see me. Did you all get a lot more snow last night? They said on the news last night that it was snowing really hard in Forsyth and Rockaway….but it wasn’t doing a thing here.

You know that even if El Paso is having a snow storm once in awhile it doesn’t have the bitter cold that last for weeks….

LOU:::: thanks for the info on the housing credit I figured it was a percentage just didn’t know how much.

Sounds like you were kept busy getting pipes fixed and water up. I hate it when water pipes burst like that.

Just a mess.

Lol I guess I am being nosey about your dad . didn’t mean to be I just wondered was confusing to me since I knew Gage was in AZ with your dad and you said you all had him a birthday party lol my poor ole mind was going HUH??? Anyway you are lucky to have two that love you and that you love.

You know that since you have lost so much weight that the heat in AZ probably wouldn’t be as bad to you anymore….or at least that is what I have found.

COLETTE:::::::::::Sounds like you had a wonderful time with your kids ….good that you got some work out of them too lol just kidding.

don’t know if I am going back to work or not…I don’t think I would really like it once I got there lol . Sort of like a bad marriage that after years have passed you only remember the good things lol

How is your hubby doing thru the holidays…did it perk him up with the kids being there ?

I hope all is going well for you and you bet your hubby deserves the very best from you .

JO:::: that is good that you are watching your protein intake …sometimes we thing we have done well and when we sit down and put it down we realize we havent. It isn’t any easier after 3 years too. I have to usually get in two protein shakes to come anywhere close to what I need. And then that leaves me so full that I have trouble eating food.

I cant get anything to pay for my plastic surgery either. I tried with medicare to get the skin on my tummy removed and they denied me saying it wasn’t bad enough. don’t know what they want yuck …but I guess I will keep tucking . The only really plastic surgery I would love to have would be a face lift. I evidently had a really fat face as I didn’t have wrinkles before but sure do now and I look at before and after pictures and my face is about half the size it was before too just like the rest of me.

Hey that is good that you discovered that about the Inspire protein mix. Maybe you have one now that you can tolerate.

SANDY:::: LOL you will have days like that forever I guess. Like I was telling JO I still have trouble getting in enough protein some days. It is just that somedays I don’t want to eat at all but now it isn’t like before surgery , then if you didn’t want to eat no harm no foul , now if I don’t eat it will make me sick.

So just keep on keeping on. This surgery wasn’t made for the faint of heart and you sound like you are doing great especially also keeping up with the exercise. Good girl.

Lol really you can tell the weather is changing with the kids ? I know when I worked as a nurse we could tell with the patients. And let it be a full moon---wow even the most sane among them would sometimes act looney. Lol

Well im getting sleepy again so will post this and get back to bed. That is the best thing in the world about being retired ….if you want to stay snuggled down in the bed till noon you can . Not that I do , for some reason I think I have to be up by 7 anyway….wonder why????

Jan, sorry to hear about George and his not being able to get an MRI.  Just not right that someone needs treatment and can't get it.

My office closed at 3:00 yesterday.  They are open today, but I stayed home.  I have several things to work on so I can work from home.

I got in plenty of protein yesterday.  The Inspire Peanut Butter Cookie protein powder is really good when mixed properly.  Guess I need to read the directions from now on.  I "assumed" you mixed it with 8 oz. of water or milk just like the other protein mixes.  I mix it wth 4 oz. of Hood chocolate countdown and it's really tasty.

Last night we had the roast pork loin from Sunday and I could hardly eat it.  Most of the time I will like a food the first time I eat it, but when I reheat and try to eat the second time, I don't like it.  If it's not really good tasting, I just can't swallow it.  It's just really weird how we react to food now, but I'm ok with that.  Food and my willing tastebuds got me to morbid obesity.

Hi OH,

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days, but had a problem develope Tues. and ended up spending Tues night in St. John's ER. Felt silly being there, but had 3 really bad nosebleeds first one at around 1:00pm, took a long time to get it stopped, took my nap, got up and did my cold medicines, including Saline mist, then nose started bleeding again, took longer to get it to stop. Played on the computer awhile and was getting ready to start supper, when it started gushing again, this time we tried to call our son that lives on the property with us to see if he would drive me into Springfield, but he wouldn't answer his phone cause he was a little upset with my DH, anyway we called EMS, cause I thought I was bleeding to death and the 911 operator told me what steps to take to try to stop the bleeding, it took almost an hour before it quit. EMS suggested I needed to have it looked at because of being on C-Pap, if it started when I was asleep it might cause a problem. By the two of my sons had showed up and they drove in the St.John's. Sat there all night, it was 2:45am Wed. before we left, just to have the ER Dr tell me that you can't bleed to death from a nose bleed and then try to shove a dry hard 4" piece of gauze up my nose to pack it. That didn't work so his Aid said he probably should try a smaller pack, then he packed my nose with novacaine and afrin soaked cotton balls to make the nose numb, said he'd be back in 10 min. about and hour later he came back tried to pack my nose again, and I told him that was not working, bring my paperwork so I can go home. He told me to stop taking Plavix and Aspirin for a week and don't blow my nose just go home and rest for a few days, never did figure out what caused it to bleed, he looked with somekind of viewer or something, said he couldn't see anything unusual, so he assumed probably a vessel broke at the back of the sinus cavity and the blood thinners caused the excessive bleeding. Like I said earlier I felt so stupid, both my sons have jobs where they have to get up early and they ended up not getting home till after 4am. God Bless them, I am so grateful.

OK I rambled on enough, Jan I don't live in Springfield, I actually live about 42 miles east of Springfield, the mailing adress is Seymour, but we live about 71/2 miles south of there out in the boonies. We live on gravel road off of bb hwy which is hilly and curvy and usually when the sun shines the roads will melt off ok, that said there are a lot of shady areas on bb in the finley river area that doesn't melt off when it's really cold, so we are just being safe, we went to the grocery store in town to get things like milk and other necessities, gonna wait till I go for Dr. Edward's appointment and stop at WM to get what we need.

Jan I'm sorry to hear about your GS's problem getting an MRI, it sure seems to me if they thought he needed one that they would do it anyway, what's up with our health care system? I hope things go well for him, it sounds like you know what to do to help him get better. Tell him Congrats on scoring like that on a practice test for the Guard, they do have some really great things to offer young men and women to help get their education while training at the same time.

You need a size N aluminum crochet hook. I think it might be the largest hook you can buy. I also used a J and K for the bags, they work, just makes the size of the bag a little smaller.

Well I'm really getting Phsyced about having the WLS. I'm going to do what ever it takes to be sucessful on the loser's bench.

We didn't get much snow here, maybe another inch, just wi**** would get back up in the 30's or 40's and stay there.

So good to see how many people are posting, pre-ops like myself really appreciate reading about the things the post-ops are going through. I helps me understand the importance following the program that will be set for me before and after surgery. So ya'll keep it up, Please

Gonna post this and finish what I have to do on here and go take my nap. DH is feeling a little better, it seems when he gets sick what ever he has just wants to hang on forever. It's almost like having a sick child again. LOL

Please keep me in your prayers. I am having family issues again. This time with my DS. He is going to be the death of me. I just hope we both survive this. I am about ready to give up . I have to try some tough love and I do not know if we will both survive it. He is almost 27 and should know better.I think I have reached my limit this time. I just hope I have the strength to get thru this. If its not one thing its two around here.

Susie- So sorry to hear about problems with your DS. I have 4 children, the oldest is a woman, the other three are boys, I feel the pain you can go through, my older son is a brilliant person, he has issues I don't want to discuss on here, but we have had some real life and death moments with him. He's 33 now and is getting his life together, He is the one that has to deal with the problems his mistakes have caused. Yes sometimes tough love is the only thing to do. I wish I could say that I was able to give him the tough part, I did give him enough of the love part and he finally figured out that if you don't learn from your mistakes the problems can just keep growing. You are deinitely in my prayers, as is your DS.

Well my friends Lorazapam is some sweet sweet sleep! ~tee hee ... I took it last night before I went to bed and Paul said he nearly had to leave the bed I snored so loud....~tee hee.  Well I took my second dose an hour before the appt and stumbled into the dentist only to NOT  have to have a root canal but two extractions on Monday, had a filling instead.  Will have to travel to Lee's Summit for that the extractions.  Then will have another crown and then bridge built maybe next year. So I will go get the good sleep meds refilled tomorrow so I will be ready again for that appt on Monday at 7:00 a.m. We will be up and on the road early.  Even with all this I am real glad not to have to have the root canal!  I came home and slept so hard for several hours it was simply wonderful sleep! Too bad I can't sleep like that every night!  If I could there would be nothing holding me back from anything I felt like doing.  Oh well... got to have something to keep "my fins pinned to the floor" as Paul would say ~tee hee

Mimi I too am sorry about your gs not getting the medical attention he needed.  I'm glad to hear he is doing good and wants to better himself. Just fantastic!

I had a very nice visit with Debbie D. this past couple of days.  I sure pray she starts feeling better... she sure was not up to par yet after her gb surgery but it will just take some time I think. Was glad she made it home before this weather got too bad and she made it safely. I thank the Lord for the wonderful friendship he has given us... we can call each other up and know that the other one will stop what she is doing and lift the others need to One that can take care of it!  That's special to me!  I pray the Lord blesses Deb's family ever so greatly!

I am just real pleased at how the furniture in my dining room is coming together... I think I will still put a coat of polyurethane on it all and several layers on the top of the table... but it even looks real good just like it is... if you did not know it had been thru a fire you cannot tell it... and the best part... sa'll free!!!   I "poured" lemon oil on the towers (Curio cabinets to an entertainment center that I got from the sil) and worked it in ...her sons had simply abused the pieces, broken glass, doors etc,and had thrown marbles at it but believe it or not with some tlc and the arranging of parts, it is coming together to even be very nice looking... I have to get a piece of glass replaced for it and order a set of doors for the large piece (where the T.V. would of went) have Paul cut down the back and build some shelves in it and it should be like new again and hold alot of storage for my misc pieces that I use for company and decorating the table etc. I'm going to have those doors made solid.  In the end for around $200 I will have $2000 worth of furniture!  This is exciting and it all matches pieces I already have!  I love matching as any of you that have been to my house knows...~tee hee

I'm getting ready to do the 5 day pouch test as well.  I've never actually done the real 5 day pouch test and know there is a web site for it...if any of you have it will you please send it on to me?  I need to read up on it... may start it on Monday while I'm re~couping from the extractions anyway?  Like so many I need to totally decarb again.  I have a goal to be at my goal weight by April 22nd that will be my 18 month mark.  I think I need to lose about 30 lbs depending on where I feel good at?  I would be happy at 170 but know the docs would like to see me at 160... so many say that's too thin  for my height so will see when I get there huh?  I'm going back to exercising two times as day since I did my best when I did that... I am going to run the two miles in the a.m. and then walk the 4 in the p.m. and see how I do with that?

Well better get off here and see if I can go pester my Paul. Made him and Deb's David German Choc cakes yesterday and so I'm in good graces right now! ~tee hee  Will see what next week brings?  My man loves his sweets!

Hope you all are staying warm in this bitter weather... it sure is drifting high around here but my little 4 wheel drive puddle jumper went right on thru it today... am thankful for that...stopped at the "Piggly Wiggly" and got eggs, milk and a few items so I will not have to go out till Monday...can you believe there is still a "Piggly Wiggly"?  I think that is funny.

Sleep well all,

Bec
