Hi Lou,

I think it's a great idea to have everyone check in. I don't have a surgery date, but do have my first consult with Dr. Edwards in Springfield on the 12th. Am so excited to have gotten this far.

Told my DH even though snow is forecast I will be at Dr's office at 10:45 am no matter what.

I do love getting on the board and reading the experiences, for the most part I get what I need to do to be sucessful.

Hello Missouri!!!
I'm three years out 12/26 and have lost over 100 pounds and from size 22 to size 9 jeans. My goal was to be free of type II diabetes and I have been since the day of surgery - Praise God!!!
It's nice to look better but best of all to feel better. I still forget that I'm not "normal" sometimes but my grouchy pouch reminds me. I really have no eating problems - wish I did!!! Surgery saved my life and I recommend it for everyone. It's not always easy - water, protein and VITAMINS are not options - but it is wonderful to be free of the weight.
Love and hugs to all.

"WLS is about making better choices, a healthier lifestyle and seeing how little you can eat.  Portion control is the key to all weight loss surgeries.  Bottom line - it isn't how much you can eat - it is how little you can eat."

Leah, Thanks for the nice compliments!  You are doing so great for 2.5 months out.  Believe me when I say it just gets easier and easier.  Keep up the good work! You're looking great! ;) Lou

15.5 months out.

As of today I'm down 110 pounds. Was down 130, but gained 20 back.

Went from being morbidly obese to overweight. Back up to obese.

Before surgery pants were 2x - now 1x / 16.

Before surgery tops were 30/32 - now 18/20.

Energy level low - that never changed, but now when I shovel snow I don't worry about having a heart attack.

It amazes me to see how little people eat - people that are as far out or further out than me. I did that in the beginning; now I can eat as much as I did before surgery.

Things were so much easier in the beginning. Now I just wish someone would shoot me.
