Daily Bible Reading - Sunday - January 3rd
This morning Psalms really reminded me of old times being with friends after weightloss surgery and not wanting to eat much. They try and try to entice you to eat more like you used to, it gets aggravating but you have to overlook it because they just don’t understand. That’s when you just have to put your foot down and say “no" and move on. I had to learn not to hang out or go out to eat with people since I’ve lost weight. I’m over 3 years out now and it wouldn’t be hard to get back into some old habits, praise God of His empowering strength to help keep me on track. This year we have to see ourselves on the winning side, don’t look back to the past but look forward to the future. See yourself at your goal weight and keep walking towards that image in your mind. Don’t look back at what you used to be, don’t forget where you started because you never want to be there again, but look ahead to the bright shining future. 2010 is our year to win, our year to be empowered by God to move forward and kick that devil in the face, we can do it, YOU can do it. Y’all have a great Sunday.

Daily Devotional
"Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the Lord spoke in that day"
(Joshua 14:12, NKJV)
In the Bible, Caleb helped lead the people of Israel into their Promised Land. But I love that Caleb didn't just stop there. When he was 80 years old, he said, "God, give me another mountain." He was saying, "God, give me something else to do. Give me another assignment." Notice, he was planning on living out his life in victory. He could have said, "God, just let me retire. Man, my back's hurting. I can hardly see anymore. Medicare wouldn't pay that latest prescription. I'm so aggravated." No, he was strong. He was energetic; he was ready for the next challenge.
Friend, no matter how old or how young you are, God has another assignment for you. You wouldn't be here if God didn't have a purpose for you. I believe that this next year is going to be your best ever. Make plans for the next victory. Make plans to increase in influence, abundance, and favor. Choose today to live full of joy, peace, strength, and health; and take a step of faith into the life of victory He has in store for you!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
"Father in heaven, thank You for creating me and giving my life purpose.
Help me discover the gifts and talents You've placed within me so that I can use them to Your glory and move forward into the life of victory You have prepared for me. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

JAN COOK
I've never been a party person and don't like crowds and never developd a liking fo alcohol. My office has happy hours occasionally or did before the money crunch. Those who drink alcohol were always so excited at the thought of free drinks. More than one has made a fool of themselves drinking too much. I would go occasionally and order a diet Coke and partake of the appetizers.
Now, I don't drink and eat at the same time, don't drink carbonated beverages and don't eat most of the appetizers because they are fried. They had one at
Christmas and someone told me to come and they would find something I could eat. I didn't go, just not interested. I don't want to singled out as different.
