Daily Bible Reading - Friday - January 1st Happy New Year
Well here we are again, at the beginning of a new year, I’m just so amazed at being on this earth in the year 2010, just awesome. I’m so excited for what the Lord has in store for this year, it’s going to be a year of finishing things up, a year of miracles, a year of seeing people come to the LOrd that you thought you’d never come. It’s a year of hope, a year of power, a year of experiencing His grace and mercy like we’ve never experienced before, I’m truly more excited about this year then I’ve ever been any other year. God is such a good God and he wants to bless us beyond our wildest dreams. I got up this morning and started putting together my new year casserole, Turkey, Ham and Swiss Casserole, got it all put together and got my black eye pea’s on and I heard the Lord speak to my heart saying, “Um, you haven’t done the post yet" and I’m like, “Um yes I know, it’s the new year I didn’t think I was going to do it" and again I heard “Um, you haven’t done the post yet" and again I said I didn’t think I was going to do it, and I heard God say “ Um yes you are". You know, God can be comical with us sometimes, He’s not this all serious all humdrum God, I believe He has a sense of humor too, that’s how He gets to our hearts sometimes, what an amazing God we serve. Well I’m going to go ahead and get this posted. Susan and I are going to go out to the movies for a change and just have a relaxing start to the New Year. I hope everyone has a great start to the New Year, the best is yet to come. Just remember, something GOOD is going to happen to you today. Have a blessed day everyone.
Today’s Reading
Genesis 1:1-2:25
Matthew 1:1-2:12
Psalm 1:1-6
Proverbs 1:1-6
Daily Devotional
"…No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him"
(I Corinthians 2:9, NIV)
What are the dreams and desires that you have for your future? Maybe you had some big dreams when you were younger, but things didn’t go the way you planned and so you put them aside and settled for status quo. We’ve all had disappointments, but we have to keep moving forward. Today is a new day, and we serve a God who makes all things new.
Let me challenge you to have a big dream for your life. I always say, when one dream dies, dream another dream. Don’t just settle for mediocrity, we serve a God who is above and beyond anything we can think of. There’s nothing you can dream of that God can’t do. Ask Him to bring you the right people, the right opportunities, and the right resources. As you follow His leading in your heart, I believe you’ll move forward and see every dream and desire come to pass in Jesus’ name!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
"Father in heaven, thank You for a new day to praise Your name. I dedicate myself to You fresh and anew. Lead me in the ways of my heart and let everything I do bring glory to You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen."
I did start reading the Bible last year, but got discouraged after about 3 months because it was boring. There were a zillion names that I couldn't begin to remember, but I'm diving in again today and starting over.
I look forward to following your messages this year.

Hi Andy...
Been out of town for the past four days but wanted to jump in here and say how wonderful it is that you are listening to the Lord and doing the "O" word OBEDIENCE (grimacing ~tee hee) That is wonderful and I know you will be blessed for it...
I am going to read it straight thru this year instead of the way we did it last year... I have felt the Lord speaking to me to do it for a while now...
Would it be ok if I jump in here and chat a bit even though I will not be reading in the same spot you are?
I still have bit to catch up on from this past year as well...shame on me! ~ha
Your are a blessing Andy and I pray the Lord is going to meet your every expectation in 2010 and bring to pass all you in faith wrote above will be "yea and amen"!!!
