Help locating a primary care!!!

Hi,

Does anyone know of a primary care physician in the Maryville, IL, St. Louis, MO areas that will help me to get on the path to weight reduction surgery.  My primary care physician does not believe in surgery for weight reduction.  Any and all help would be much appreciated.

Melissa are you sure your insurance requires a letter from your PCP? There are some that do not require it. Just the letter of medical necessity from the Bariatric surgeon is required. You might want to call your insurance customer service rep and ask the detailed requirements to qualify for bariatric surgery. If you have not already.
Just FYI my Cardiologist did not believe in WLS either. But my heart has improved so much since my surgery he has changed his mind and now recommends it to some of his patients. He is even asking me the requirements as he himself is developing a very advanced middle age spread. tee hee It takes all the selfcontrol I have to not mock him saying 'well just pull away from the table sooner you will lose!'
