WHATS HAPPENING WED THE 30TH

Two days till New Years wow…..im thankful that my health is good and no longer take pills for high blood pressure…have cut way down on the arthritis meds now too since the two knees are replaced…

Sandy sorry I missed your post on Sunday….sorry you ended up in the ditch wow that would have been scary…but thankful you could pull out of it by yourself. As they say most accidents happen with in five miles of your home. That is weird isn’t it. Oh I bet it was fun watching the kids slide down the hills…we didn’t have enough snow here to do that….Patrick did make tiny snowman that lasted till yesterday lol…I mean it was tiny too about 6 inches tall.

Jeanie-Ray anything I can help you with on gardening will be glad to help….if I was able I would even come and help you with it but by the time I do my own veggie gardening and all my flowers I don’t have time to turn around …

Oh my it looks so pretty outside this morning…we have about 2 inches of white on everything. The highway truck have been by the house plowing off the road and then putting down salt so I guess the roads are pretty good. You would think that down where we live that we would be the last on the list of roads to be cleaned but it isn’t so. They were by here about 5:30 and the elect company is about the same way….last year when there was that big ice storm , we weren’t here but Andy said they weren’t without power that long.

J0 I too have been getting less protein than I need and have been getting tired of all the different ways of doing the protein powder but we have to do what we have to do….have you tired any of the Isopure powder or ready to drink protein drinks? They are a little pricy but arent bad at all. Especially if you put them other flavored water….my sister gets hers at GCN ….

I have just been making my protein coffee and then pouring half of it in another container…which I warm up and drink in a couple of hours….also I make hot choc with protein powder in it….I also make my strawberry smoothies that everyone that likes strawberries loves. I use frozen strawberries to make it thick…you can use what ever fruit you love and I change it around sometimes. I still try to get in at least 2 protein drinks a day which equals 60 grams of protein and I probab ly should do another one since I cant seem to eat meats well at all. The only meat im able to eat any of at all that doesn’t make me sick is deer.

Everything else sits like a lump in the pit of my stomach and is like that for a couple of days after eating it.

BARB:::: I know you are getting excited about getting rid of the unwanted skin….I would be too. That will feel so good to not have that stuff hanging…

Tell your hubby for all of us thank you for all he does to keep the roads clean and safe for everyone. I know it has to be a hard , thankless job.

I know Baby does give you lots of pleasure , especially since you feel like you have part of your sister with you still.

When you coming down to see me again? In the spring? Would love to have you visit again…come to stay a week and I will see if we can get some others to come then too. Will do the boot camp that we never got done last year. Lol…I still need it …I am hoping that I can get to walking again soon. But the cold right now freezes my knees. Maybe I need some leg warmers to pull up over my knees when im outside. I have some old sweater sleeves that I do that in the house but they fall down to easy if I try to walk lol

SUSIE:::::; did you get your snow you have been wanting??? Im glad that your opening on your incision wasn’t as bad as you though it was…no one will probably ever notice it at all.

I sure do wi**** wasn’t as cold as it is too. Take care of yourself. Sorry about your plastic surgeon not being in your network….will just have to find one that is I guess if they are going to cover the cost of it.

JEANIE-RAE:::: sometimes building raised beds to plant in is the best thing you can do for gardening. Is a little expensive to start but you can make your beds out of rock or old lumber you have around ….just make sure you can reach the middle of the beds from each side so no more than about 4 feet wide. Could start with one bed this year and then build another next year.

On protein drinks over the long haul I have found that the wal mart brand vanilla flavored is what I use the most of. Mainly because I can flavor it anyway I want to ….all of the nectar things and stuff like that I don’t like but that is just me I guess. Because a lot of people do like them…im too cheap to try too much stuff lol .

I hope you get to feeling better really quick….will be a new year here in a couple of days , need to start out well and healthy. Lol

BEV:::: LOL only 87 days till spring huh maybe we need to have a big count down counter on here somewhere lol . I am anxious for it to be here. There has already been way too much cold for me. This is the first winter we have been here in about 5 years. And there wont be another one believe me…

I know you have to feel so much better not smoking….I quit 15 years ago wow doesn’t seem that long ago but I know my lungs sure have thanked me a lot. I use to have chronic bronchitis all the time it seemed and havent had any now for about 12 years. So I guess all of that has healed .

See you tomorrow on New years eve……

Well all I got was a dusting of snow but thats ok.I am sure I will get one good snow before the winter is over and one will be enough.
I am looking for a new PS that takes my insurance. I may have to go to ST Louis to find one. If anyone knows a good one that accepts tricare please let me know. I need to get something scheduled soon .It takes a while to get approved after being seen. They sure do not make it easy.

I am wearing a stage two girdle from the surgeon and it is high waisted. I am seeing what size I will be after fixing the tummy. My waist  will be several inches smaller. That will be nice. Right now my pants are baggy because the waist has to fit. I will be glad when its all over and done. I just know I can not pay 10K to have it done on my own.

I sure hope I can make it to the meeting next month because I need a wake up . My eating habits have not been very good over the holidays. I have to get back on track. I just wish you guys were not so far away.

We have about 2" of snow too but it's a powdery snow.  I drove to work today.  I can park for $5 if I'm in by 9:00.  Just didn't want to stand out and wait for the bus.  It was so nice not to have the yak, yak, yak of passengers.  The bus is cheap but like they say, you get what you pay for.  I just heard we will be able to leave at noon.  There's hardly anyone here.

Jan, I use the WM protein too.  At about $14 it is cheap and works for a lot of things.  I can't begin to eat enough protein for my needs so I have to do the drinks.  Last night I fixed hamburgers and could barely choke it down.  So many things just don't taste good, not like I remember.  I'm not complaining.  The weight loss and better health is worth so much more than the taste of food.

I have tried the Isopure drinks and didn't like at all.  I've tried several of the RTD proteins and they all taste like Slim Fast or worse.  I mixed the Cinnamon Bun protein with coffee and it's good so I can get rid of it that way.  I'll have to try hot chocolate with protein powder.  I did make an Orange Julias using milk, Crystal Lite orange and a scoop of vanilla protein and that's pretty good.  Guess I need to get creative.  A lot of people love the Pumpkin Protein Shake but I just couldn't drink it.

Tomorrow I'm cleaning out kitchen cabinets.

Today I'm thankful for the children in my family and the joy they bring.  I made an afghan for my 6 years GD and she hugged it to her and said, "Grandma, I love my blanket."

Hello All;

Thanks for thinking of my hubby. He will be grateful. I'm sure I will make it down to see you again. The boot camp sounds fun. Hey, if you have some old knee hi nylons, try cutting the top off and use it as a band to keep up your socks???? might work...If they are too tight...try putting the sleeve with the cuff on first and the band on the bottom? Let us know what works, sounds like a great idea. I can just see us all going to the thrift shop and looking for old sweaters to make leg warmers.....

The snow is beautiful looking out my sliding door that overlooks our largest pond but, I know it's too cold for me.

I am thankful for reuniting with my brother in Texas this year. I had not seen him since 1991. That won't happen again. Even tho we both loved our sister...we found a thorn placed between us by our sister that is forever gone.

Hugs

Hi Jan and all of OH,

Not feeling to good, this cold has really hit me hard, so I'm just hanging around working on recycling grocery bags, trying to stay warm. We only got a dusting of snow also, I'm really glad cause the boys still have about 1/3 of the roof left to finish, if we got too much snow we would have real problems.

What I'm thankful for today is that I have a chance at a new and healthy life and am going to whatever it takes to make it successful.

Gonna post this and probably go lay down, my DH is coming down with the same cold, I'm praying that all the meds he takes for his lungs will help him keep from getting too sick.

God Bless all of you talk to ya tomorrow.

Good afternoon!  I can't believe in one more day it will be 2010!  My friends were talking about how we thought by now we would be living like the Jetsons. LOL  Back in high school 2000 seemed like forever away.

I am thankful for my family and friends.  Without their support and love I wouldn't be the person I am today.  I also couldn't have made it threw this whole wls process.  They have all been so supportive and have cheered me on every step of the way.   They never told me I was fat, they just loved me for me.  I dont' know what I would do without them.

Jo, have you tried the Roadside lemon aide?  I would be glad to send you some and if you like it I could send you the whole thing.  I didn't really care for it.  I never tried the Caribbean cooler, I almost ordered it.

I didn't loose any weight the last two weeks and today I got on the scale and lost 2.5 lbs! I'm so excited.  I really concentrated the last few days on my protein and water.  YAY!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!  I can't wait to go out with all my friends and ring in the new year. ;) Lou

I almost ordered the Roadside Lemonade and he has to be better than what I got.  A lot of people really like the lemonade.  We can send each other a sample of what we have.

I've got to find something I like.  I got some samples of Protonex.  Tried te berry flavor and didn't like.

I'll send you my address via email.
