In just a few days we will welcome the fresh opportunities that a new year brings. I am more excited than ever, and I hope you are too, about what lies ahead in 2010.

This time of year has always been special to me … I love how God can take our old and make it new again. I love the miracles He performs, big and small, to make His promises known to us, and most of all, I love new beginnings.

I want to encourage you — no matter what cir****tances you are facing, remember that God is ALWAYS for you and NEVER against you, and that every good gift is from above. His Word says He desires true "wealth and honor and life" for you (Proverbs 22:4)!

I am expecting 2010 to be the greatest year ever. I believe that God will use us to take His message of hope to people who have never really known His goodness. People need hope, yet far too many live without it. I know what having God’s hope has done for Susan and I, some days it’s we had to rely on but it sure got us through.

With just a couple days left in 2009, I am trusting God for a strong finish to the year. I'm believing that He has great things ahead for us to accomplish and a message of hope to take to those in need.

Today’s Reading

Malachi 1:1-2:17
Revelation 21:1-27
Psalm 149:1-9
Proverbs 31:10-24

Daily Devotional

"May He give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed"
(Psalm 20:4, NIV)

The Bible tells us that true faith has actions with it. A lot of times people say they believe one way, but with their actions, they're doing just the opposite. We have to understand that faith will work in either direction. I know some people make plans to get the flu. They talk about it and say, "Every year I get the flu." Or, "It's going to be bad this year." They expect it and a few months later, they've got it. Their faith worked. They believed, they expected, they made plans, and they got it. But instead of making plans for the worst, why don't you make plans for the best. Why don't you make plans for the Word of God to come to pass in your life? The scripture says, "No weapon formed against us is going to prosper." "A thousand may fall at my side, ten thousand at my right hand; but it will not come near my dwelling."

Today, make plans according to the Word of God. As you make right plans, you'll see right things come to pass in your life. You'll rise up higher and enjoy the blessings God has in store for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

"Father God, I confess that I need You today. Search my heart. Help me see any area where my faith is working in the wrong direction. I desire to make plans in agreement with You so that I can partake of the good things You have in store for me. In Jesus' Name, Amen."
