WHATS HAPPENING DEC 29TH

3 days left for this year of 2009 , can you believe it? What are your plans for new years eve??? Lol we will probably do like we always do , go to bed…we use to in our younger days go out and party but no more of that. wouldn’t know how to party if we went out lol

Well the youngest of the two grand sons made it home to Houston this morning. I think he was glad to go because they don’t expect anything from him there. He can sleep all the time and play video games the rest of the time. Too bad. Hopefully he will grow up soon. He is 19 now ….

Oldest grandson is still here (George) will be starting college in less than 2 weeks now, he is anxious to get that going. He says he know he can do it just needed to get his butt in gear.

Well what I am thankful for is family , some of them make you angry , some are so loveable , and some are way less than perfect but when it comes down to it they are family and I love them all. And am thankful for all of them.

Boy it is suppose to get really cold for the next few nights sure wish I were in AZ…. I cant go outside at all in this extreme cold my knees lock up and freeze within minutes. Whats up with that. Crazy huh? I found an old sweater and made knee warmers out of it , it helps but not as much as I would like.

Going to get this posted because im going to go out into the green house and get my shelves set up for planting. Got Joe to put me a bucket on the back porch that im going to pour bleach and ho****er in so I can clean my seed trays for planting soon. Will start soon planting some of the things that take awhile to get up to planting size. Need to go and get some horse manure and put on the garden so we can plough it under if the Chickens don’t do as good as job as they should…..also have to get the fence across the middle of the garden so I can plant on one side this year. don’t intend to have that big of one this year. …

Talk to you all tomorrow. What are you thankful for ….

It is 11 degrees here.  Snow is piled everywhere.

I'm going to the hockey game with my DH New Year's Eve.  He has a season ticket but I don't go, just not interested in sports.  I didn't want him to go alone on NYE so we're going out to dinner first and then to the game.

Too bad your GS didn't want to take advantage of your hospitality, but maybe he just need to mature a little more.

I tracked my eating yesterday and I was low on protein so I have to fix that.  I had gotten tired or protein coffee so haven't been drinking it, but I started again today.  Thru lunch and afternoon snack, I will have 70 grams of protein.  I need to get in another 30 grams and can do that with dinner and protein shake.

What I need to do is order some protein samples.  I have 2 jugs of protein that I don't like at all.  One is Syntax Nectar Caribbean Cooler.  It has a strong rum flavor and I never liked rum.  I've mixed it everyway I can think of and can't overpower that rum taste.  If someone would like to have it, let me know and I will send it to you.  The other flavor is Cinnamon Bun and it surely doesn't taste like any cinnamon bun I ever ate.

Jan, I'm not envying you at all with your bleach water, seed trays and horse manure.  Ewwwww.....but I know you will enjoy it.  I'm at work but if I was home I would be sewing or reading or baking some healthy snacks.  The kitchen and craft room are my favs.

I'm thankful to be off all the meds I was on before WLS.

Jo maybe we should trade, I bought the roadside lemonaide and I don't care for it.  Have you tried it?  I've used 2 scoops out of that huge jug.  I love hockey! Have fun! ;) Lou

Hi Jan and all;

Getting ready for the next round of snow. Hubby was informed he will be working another 12 hour day tomorrow. I guess it is really coming. I am getting excited for my surgery next week. I purchased new jammies this morning and some supplies for the incisions. I am supposed to come home afterward so I'm excited about that too.

I am grateful for my Chihuahua "Baby". She is a joy everyday to us. She makes us laugh everyday and is alot of company to me. She is a real lover. Has to have her time with me several times a day. Just wants to be held and loved. Some of you know I brought her home from Florida when my sister died so, she also is part of my sister and helps me with my grief. Don't know what I would do without her now.

Everyone please stay safe with this bad weather coming. My heart and prayers are with all of you.

Hugs;
Barbara

 Made it to the doctor today and I wasn't as bad as I thought. I didn't have to get new stitches. I am not happy it came apart or how big the scar is going to be but it is not infected. I am very grateful for that. I got some antibiotics so my mind is at ease. I was hopeful I had found a doctor to get my insurance to cover my tummy but he is not in my network. Back to square one. I am discouraged about this. I plan to call the insurance tomorrow and see what I can do.

Talked to DS in Dallas and he said it was really snowing hard there. I guess it is headed this way but I heard only about an inch.I am ok with that I just wi**** wasn't as cold as it is.

Hi everybody,

call me crazy fingers, I already tried to post and hit a wrong key and erased it all again.

I guess it's a good thing I didn't try to go to the meeting last night, I have a cold and didn't feel all that bad yesterday but today I'm feeling really sick. If I had been at a meeting I'm afraid anybody that was there would have caught it. God really does work in mysterious ways.

I am thankful this year for all the wonderful people I have gotten to know at the company my DH and I contract with. We don't work full time, but we work enough to help make ends meet most months. And they are really a bunch of good people to know.

Jan I may be asking for some advice with the gardening. We both want to try it again, so I think this spring we are gonna take soil samples and send them in to the USDA extension center, I know we have some problems here, I think mostly with lime, but whatever we want to fix it and at least put out a few tomatoes, some cucumbers, and zuchinni. I love to read about your gardening, I never was into working outside, but I need to start something new.

Susie, so glad things turned out ok for you.

Jo I would like to try some protein drinks but it would cost too much for you to send them to me. I am going to Wal-mart when I shop Thursday, gonna get some of their Strawberry first to try. My DH has been told he needs to cut his carbs so he thinks he would like to try to protein shakes to see if the help curb his cravings. I think it's awesome to be going on a date with your DH on NYE, then going to a game, could turn out to be a real fun night. Enjoy.

Barbara, I just wanted to say that being a retired over the road truck driver, the job your DH does is so much appreciated and hardly anybody tells them that. I say God Bless the people that work the hard long hours clearing our roadways for us and God Bless the spouses of those men and women.

I'm gonna post this now and go get back under the covers and wathc TV reruns. Everybody have a good night, Talk to ya later.

Hello Jan and all,

What truck ran over me..my word. It started with a scratchy throat sunday and monday I couldn't talk. Today my voice is a little better but I still feel puny..

Only what 88 days til spring..something like that. I really dislike winter. I don't like the cold and I really don't like the snow. I probably shouldn't be living in Missouri :)  Now they are calling for more snow and wouldn't you know it my heater went out of my car. Now I am really stuc****il I can get that fixed. Always something getting in my way.

I am so thankful for my surgery and what it has done for my life. Unless you are a smoker this won't mean anything to you but I am thankful that I have been smoke free for almost 2 yrs. (Feb 28) I smoked for about 45 yrs and because of this surgery I was able to quit. And for that I am really grateful..

Gotta get off here and feed my bird, I have an african grey and he likes his veggies about this time at night. I have tried to get him to eat them earlier but he refuses. Spoiled rotten...
