What's Happening Sunday!!

It's about 10:35 so I thought I would start the What's Happening.  Jan must be very busy.

The snow has stopped and we have some sun.  We have someone coming to clear out our driveway.  DH has no business shoveling snow and he doesn't think I should.  His daughter and her husband live 10 minutes away, but there has been no offer of help.  Grrrrr.....we are always helping them out with the kids.

Bec, you really had a great Christmas.  I did get tired reading about all your projects, but I'm sure it's things you enjoy doing.  You did a great job with exercise this year.  I must get busy  exercising.  I plan to join a class that meets twice a week then do cardio at least twice a week.

No sugar yesterday and I felt so much better.  Last year I wouldn't touch anything with more than 7 grams of sugar, but I got careless this year.  I read an article yesterday that said RNY patients should keep sugar at 3-5 grams.

only 5 days left till New Years day....so what are you all thankful for that happened this past year.
Another thing i am thankful for is that my grandsons from Houston that i have only 3 twice in the past 10 years came to live with me.even if the youngest one is going back home tomorrow. maybe when he get more grown up he will come back up.

I forgot to add what I'm thankful for.  Keeping my job!!  There were several people let go.  Even though I've been there 9 years, you're not assured you will stay.  I've been willing to do whatever was asked of me.

yes Jo people that have jobs should be really thankful that they have them no matter how yucky it is.
yes that feeling is probably dumping....which can be also hypoglycemia...blood sugar goes high, then low and makes for some horrible feelings.

Good Afternoon OH,

Don't know what happened but had already typed my post and hit the wrong key and lost it all, so gonna try again.

Today I'm thankful for the blessings God has given my Middle Son Matt. He has gone through some real stressful things with his family situation, and almost lost his children because of another persons vengeful actions. His Faith in the Lord is what got him through and he is being blessed everyday. So I can see the blessings and know that if we all trust and have Faith we can overcome all the trials we go through.

Jo you aren't alone about the sugars, I made alot of things my kids love and of course had to taste. I have been good today, so will start over from here. No more sugar or white flour. LOL.

Have a 9am follow up with the phsyc tomorrow am getting excited and I think if I can concentrate on that it will help me stay away from the naughty foods.

Jan how did your day go Sat? I think the whole thing about family dinners on the Holidays can bring our Spirits up and help us forget how commercial everything has gotten.

God Bless all of you gonna post this and get some more done I'm into doing my plarn bags again and everyone has loaded me up with bags so need to get the strips cut and joined it's time consuming but keeps my hands busy and out of the refrigerator.

I kept feeling hot and cold and my tummy was upset.  I didn't know that was a form of dumping.

DH had some of the Peanut Clusters out and I didn't even tough them.  I've sampled one here and there then felt so awful.  Going forward I will read labels and pay attention just like I did in the beginning.

Plarn is plastic yarn, I recycle grocery bags, you flatten the bags, fold them lengthwise down the middle a couple of times till they are abour 1" or so wide then cut them across to make loops then loop them together to make plarn, then you can crochet with them. I make shopping bags, they are strong and you can really load them with heavy stuff like canned goods.

I'll try to bring a couple of them to the meeting. I can't keep them very long as soon as someone sees them they want one.

Yeah it is great when you see God working in your childrens lives, it's so easy to get lost in our own sorrow, and some of us lose their Faith in Him, then we see the good things he does for our loved ones it can help us rebuild our Faith.

I got my youngest off yesterday and the oldest went home. He didn't have gas so he stayed with us a few days.It is nice to have the house back but it lonely now. I started packing up Christmas this morning.Everything looks weird without the extra decorations. With me recovering from surgery and our problems at our church we didn't even go to one party this year. Saved us some money on gifts I guess.
I guess the biggest thing I am thankful for this year is that my health has improved so much. I may look older but I feel younger. I will be glad when I have all my "hope to have" surgeries over and done . I still want a few more but I am not sure when. If the insurance comes thru on the tummy I may take a break for a while.
My youngest told us he is thinking of getting his PHD. I am beginning to think he will go to school forever. He already changed his masters to something different that takes three years. We expected him to be done in May. Its getting very hard having to help out both kids. The older one won't pay his bills.
We are getting some snow today. Just light flurries but pretty to watch. Still very cold here. Stay warm guys.
Susie
