Anyone have Dr. Hoehn or Dr. Kowalski in KC area for VSG?

Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

I had Dr. Kowalski for the R-N-Y and LOVED HIM!  He takes his time and is very nice!

Dr. K did the seminar I went to last week.  He was great, but I chose Dr. H because I was told that Dr. K. doesn't want to do someone who lives as far away as I do (2 hours).  So, I didn't even ask him.  Maybe I should have, because he isn't quite as busy as Dr. H and I could have gotten in to see him sooner.

Do you attend support group meetings?  if so, are they on weekends or during the week?

For those having WLS in Missouri...What insurances are paying for R-N-Y? I work for 2 hospitals and they are both slef insured so they won't pay. I am going to have to buy insurance out of pocket to get it done.

Most self-pay insurance policies don't offer WLS as a benefit because it's a very expensive benefit.  The premiums would be severely astronomical!  Also, since neither MO or KS requires insurance companies to cover WLS, it's not usually added to self-pay policies.  You may want to speak to a broker to see if there are any companies that will offer you a WLS rider if you are willing to pay for it.

I am looking at possible changing jobs to get insurance coverage to pay for it. If that becomes difficult in the surrounding states then my next option will be paying for it out of pocket. I am researching costs in different locations if I have to pay out of pocket.

Thanks Lou.  I sure hope someone responds.  I would like to meet someone as a support buddy to attend support group meetings.
