I am getting ready to head out to get rid of these  drains and my stitches out. I am so looking forward to not having them. So far I am pretty pleased with my legs but it really  makes my butt look worse not to mention my tummy. I guess one thing leads to another.
My DS comes in this afternoon and I am looking forward to our time with him. He has a serious girlfriend and I may lose him at christmas in the future to her family.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and thank you for your prayers. Things are much better in most areas of my life. I still need prayer for  my oldest DS. Lots of problems there.

Maybe a white Christmas?

Hello Ya'll
Just a tiny short note to wish everyone a blessed merry Christmas and a wonderful 2010. We are flying to Las Vegas on Wednesday to spend six days with DH's children and then hopefully - weather permitting - I'll go to DD, Stacy, on her birthday, 12/31, and stay a couple of days. I haven't seen John's kids for a couple of years so I'm really anxious to spend some time with them. I got a good report on my broken femur on Thursday - no crutches or cane necessary. I used a cane for the first day and I've had some residual soreness in the hip and thigh. All in all it hasn't been too bad except for the crutches. I expect I will have pain in that hip always - seems like as we age when we get an injury arthritis sets in and it never really goes away. And, I've had some shoulder pain that I am attributing to the crutches too. I hope that is going to go away soon. John's tendon graft to his thumb joint is doing really well. He is so good to do his physical therapy at home.
We will still be in LV next Monday so if you meet I won't be there. However, I'll think of all of you and hope you know I love you.
Hugs,
Lana

"WLS is about making better choices, a healthier lifestyle and seeing how little you can eat.  Portion control is the key to all weight loss surgeries.  Bottom line - it isn't how much you can eat - it is how little you can eat."

Hi Jan and OH Friends,

Gotta keep this short, just finished my last batch of Tamales and am really bushed. My boys are trying to eat them as fast as I can make em. LOL. Reminds of when they were little, tried to get into the presents under the tree before Christmas.

Jan here is the pumkin peanut butter bread recipe I use,

Ingredients

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 (15 ounce) can solid pack pumpkin
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 2/3 cup peanut butter
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Directions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the sugar, pumpkin, eggs, oil, water and peanut butter; beat well. Combine the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Gradually add to pumpkin mixture; mix well. Pour into two greased 9-in. x 5-in. x 3-in. loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees F for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks.

The only thing I do different is use half brown sugar, I think you can use splenda, I haven't tried it yet cause I stay away from wheat. I also used half whole wheat flour in my zuchinni breads and they turned out good.

Sounds like everybody is just about ready for Christmas, I am looking forward to the NEW YEAR, hoping things start rolling for my surgery.

God Bless all of you and HAVE A VERY VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS, will see you at the meeting, maybe with somekind of news, I have my phsyc follow-up so maybe I will know what will transpire.
