WHATS HAPPENING TUESDAY 12-22
We sure have had a couple pretty days havent we? don’t know what today is suppose to do. Really never know around here I guess until it does it. …
Joe went and had his injectiohs into his back started today…so there will be 2 more about a week apart. After we left there I stopped at Kohls and put Joes seat back …and left him sit and rest while I was there.
Took my kohls cash and my 35% discount and got the rest of my presents bought….love the kohls cash .
I stopped and got the other stuff I needed to make the last of the cakes. Did another orange date nut cake this afternoon and will do my other pumpkin rolls today. Then im done except for doing the side dishes for Saturday. And I will do them on Friday.
SANDY:::: good to see you on here again. Im glad that you have good help with the day care while you are recooping.
Congratulations on your wedding anniversary. …hope you are doing ok… wish you were close enough to Springfield to come to the COF support meetings. Would love to meet you.
BEC::::: you see your personality is why you havent seen any sour personalities. Knowing you like I do I know they left that store smiling even if they were in a bad mood before.
Of all the cooking you do and all I cant believe you have never done a jelly roll type of cake ? Yes you do have to be sort of careful when you are rolling or they will break but even if they do on the inside it doesn’t matter much. You use the towel or wax paper to roll with , pulling it up if you havent done one the next time I am up I will help you do one. I cant believe I would have the nerve to be showing you something as far as cooking goes. .lol.
You actually run???? Really? Wow!!!! I can semi run for about 10 feet lol…but that is right now with the new knee. I just want to get to where I can walk on it well. The quads on this new knee leg is not improving as fast as it should. Or at least I think but it has only been 6 weeks maybe im wanting more than is possible.
They tell you it has two wheels, but it might have more than two wheels…they don’t tell you that.lol im anxious to see what you get too. Joe and I arent giving each other anything this year. Too many other things we have to worry about . Like taxes lol oh well we will be ok I hope. I may see about going to work a couple days a week after Christmas.
LOU::::: yeah I wish I were in AZ right now. Hey the real estate lady you told me about never did show up…I don’t know if she lost my phone number or what but I havent heard anything else from her. But I know that she had some mouth surgery so maybe she isn’t doing well with it. I have lost her number too so if you can send it to me again , then after Christmas I will call her. I have a lady coming to see about buying it the day after Christmas so if she doesn’t want it I will call Karen.
SUSIE::::: well hope you got all the stitches and drains out. I bet it feels lots better doesn’t it? You said the legs make the butt look worse but how many people see your butt ??? Lol you don’t want to become addicted to plastic surgery. I don’t think we could ever be totally happy with the way we looked do you ?
Hope you are having a great time with your son. Is his girlfriend coming with him?
LANA:::::so glad that you are doing better with your injury….but bummed that I wont see you till January. I hope you have a great time for Christmas and the kids.
Your right about the aches and pains as we get older altho I have eliminated some of my pain with getting the knees fixed. They don’t throb all the time. Just some of the time lol .
Glad that Johns hands are doing better.
Have a great time and know that we love you too…..Merry Christmas. To you too.
JEANIE=RAE::::: thanks for the recipe it sounds great. I think I will try it today and see what the guys think…could serve it warm with a little bit of cream cheese on it would be good.
Will see you next Monday…hope you do have some good news on going forward toward surgery.

I hope everyone has a great day! I have my first post-op visit today at 1. I am hoping he is running on time, then I have a nail appt at 4. How silly is that to miss your nails being done! Connie from Holden goes in this morning to have her surgery she goes at 8:30 so please be sending hugs and prayers her way. She said she would have someone call me and let me know how she is doing then I will let you all know. I am going to go and get some coffee before my first one get here today, I will have to wake Marissa up so she can put her in her crib. Talk to you all later on today.
Sandy
Well I cooked all day yesterday except for a 2 hour nap! egads... I was just tuckered from the job I guess... Mimi what kind sweet words you say about me... I don't know if that is true or not but I know I am sure glad that I have gotten nice people to work with... have even gotten a few of the customers search out the managers and say a nice word... that was nice but you know... it's kind of sad too because I have not done a thing except my job... and try and care about the next guy. I guess we get so wrapped up in ourselves that sometimes we lose focus on what we are doing, I really feel for some of the young girls that I work with... they have so much to learn and just seem to be heading down paths that will only lead to more pain in their lives... wish I could fix it for them but know they will learn by experience much the same as I only on different issues I guess.
Yes, Mimi I guess you would call what I do more of jogging than running... except down hill I can run, momentum is more than I need! ~tee hee I consistently do a mile in 13 minutes and 40 seconds, and I do two miles at a time... that's not all that good but for this 44 year old fat girl it's not bad I guess? The best "common Joe" runner I have known ran a 9 minute mile...so you see I'm not all that good but I can tell you this... the 13 minute mile sure keeps my heart rate up real good! ~ha I know you will get better with your range of motion in the knee...I'm glad some of the pain is gone...I know I get so tired of back pain and it's "prolly" (as Andy would say) is not as bad as you have lived with those knees? So any improvement is wonderful!
I don't know why I have never made a jelly roll before I guess it intimidated me and I just never did it... that's usually not like me because I loved the Little Debbie Jelly Rolls? Sure you could teach me lots and lots of things if we could be together more often! Heck you already have! What would I have done without all you wonderful gals that helped me right thru this surgery?!?! And you are my plant specialist as well you know? ~ha
You know... it is so strange making the goodies this year... I just don't care about them and actually it's not even fun like it used to be... I guess I'm kind of mourning that in a way because I was always so excited to do it in the years past and I think I really kind of wish I didn't have to do it and that's a good thing but it feels like I've lost something as well?
I got fudge, cherry mash, English toffee, and 2 batches of peanut brittle made, Crystal made the dough up for sugar cookies, and made M&M cookies. Will have to get them plated up to give away here soon. Will send a meat and cheese tray with Paul tonight for work so need to get out the meat slicer. Spiral hams were on sale for $1.17 a lb this past week and boy were they good... the neighbor got one too and gave me a taste of hers and yum yum...so will not have to cut the meat this year since it is spiral cut already... I got 4 of the hams so I could put 3 in the freezer for later. My freezer is so full I sure hope nothing happens to it or I would lose lots of $$$.
I still have 3 days before I find out what my flat bed trailer present is... it sure will be fun to see just how many "stories" the man told me about the mysterious present! ~tee hee Two wheels... he knows it has to be four or I'm in trouble! ~tee hee
Well I work 10 hours the next two days and then 6 on Christmas Eve... I sure am glad I have Crystal here to help me this year...or things would just not get done. I am looking forward to the day with the girls on Christmas... and hopefully I have made the meal so I won't have to be in the kitchen all day?
Suzie... I'm glad things are looking up in your life and know you have to be happy happy to have those old drains out too!
Andy and Susan I miss chatting with you folks... hope you have a wonderful holiday season!
Wishing the best for the ladies that just had surgery and the one having it today...speedy recoveries and no complications!
Lou ~ just love to hear that you have gotten together with friends and had such good times...wish I lived close enough to mine to get together more often!
Miss some of the gals that used to post and pray they are all doing well and just full of happiness!
Well better get to exercising and ready for work need to get my clothes ready for the next three days it makes life much easier if I have them all laid out, and don't have to dig for something to wear ~ha.
A blessed and wonderful day and Christmas to all if I don't get back before then.
Bec
Bec, I am not enjoying making all the goodies this year, not like I used to. Last year I was afraid to eat anything with sugar, but this year I've let my guard down and tasted way too much. Sugar doesn't make me dump but it makes me feel sick. Last night I made several batches of Snickerdoodle Party Mix so I chewed gum to keep from tasting. Half of it I used Splenda but it's still high carb with the cereal.
I used to make every candy and cookie recipe I could find. Of course it was for giving to others. I think I was the one that really wanted those things. Saturday I'm going on a liquid die****er and protein drinks, and decarb my body.
Do let us know what is on the flatbed trailer!!

Dr. John Price
Kansas City, MO
3/4 cup of Splenda
2 Tbsp of Corn Starch
Blend it together on high speed in a blender for a min or so until it is the texture of powdered sugar. You may have to scrap the sides of the blender to get it all out but it seems to be about the same as regular powdered sugar only without the real sugar.
Bec if I can make a half way decent pumpkin roll I know you can lol. I tried this week and they didnt turn out to bad.
We went to town on Sunday and did a bit of shopping, I guess people havnt been watching the news and know that there is a recession cuz everyone and their dogs were out shopping and buying lol.
Y'all have a great day.
Andy
Andy... I bet you are a right good cook! Some day I will come on down there and test some of it out! ~tee hee
I am going to try making the rolls soon maybe I will do it when I try the jerky recipe that Connie gave me?
I bet my family will love both of those recipes?
Blessings to you dear friend.
Bec
The thighs have amazed me. Almost no bruising and very little swelling. I am so happy not to have drains.
Now I have to start working on phase two . I am praying hard that insurance will cover the tummy because I need it done so bad. I am having major skin issues because of it and the wrinkles on my former backside. There is nothing there but hanging skin now.

Your kind words about me are sure appreciated... you know I will say, if there is any good thing in me it's not me for sure! I have to give the credit where it's due as I'm just a fallible person and the credit goes to one Higher than I.
Bless you all for your encouraging words! I'm humbled by them for sure because I know I do not deserve them!

Bec
