WHATS HAPPENING TUESDAY DEC 15

Well good grief it was suppose to be sunny yesterday wasn’t it??? Sure wasn’t here . Anyone have a lamp that puts out the sun type light? I sure wish I had one im about to go nuts …I told the boys today that will transfer Georges college to Tucson AZ and then we will just take our tent and sleeping bags and move to Az….we will just go to the base of the mountains and become squatters. lol at least I would have some sun …I could just sit out in the sun all day and get a tan …

We have a chicken that something happened to her. She is still alive but just barely. She has a big area on the side of her head and looks like the eye is either just swollen or is out. ….I would say a snake but they have all hibernated I think…but don’t know what else it would be. We picked her up and put her in the coop tonight ..I don’t think she would have made it sitting out in the cold tonight. She may not make it anyway but we tried.

JO the article on 60 mins can be seen on 60 mins .com and is about regrenation….wild stuff. They have developed this powder than makes cells think they are in the womb and they form again.,….wild huh?

Im really tires of winter already too as you can see. Your jello recipe seems really good… I have a lot of it , need to get some apricots. …..am going to have it for Christmas dinner.

Boy I agree with you about so much stuff being up so early….it was before Halloween sometime that I saw the Christmas trees and decorations start appearing in the stores…. You know it has become just a commercial sales day anymore….I think everyone that is a Christian should only put up a nativity scene on their lawn next year, and the presents should only be home made or something from the heart. Nothing bought…everyone can learn to do something homemade surely , even me….maybe make a willow limb chair. Or grow a pretty flower for them…or give ticket for things like ….good for one home cooked meal that you don’t have to cook….might bring back some of the meaning of Christmas a little and then on Christmas day go work in a free meal place , helping to serve or something like that….

Does all of this sound a little lame? Maybe so. But I think it might help all of us. And if NO Christian bought any of their junk that they trot out at us telling us we have to have. It might change the way the employers thought too….I guess you would never get very many to do this. But sure would be nice I think…well didn’t intend to get on my soap box …l

JEANIE=RAE::::: thanks for posting the two recipes…the last one I think I can attempt that one but the other I think it would have to be made with someone that knows what they are doing first time anyway…I would be way to uncertain to try it on my own. Lol

Hope you got rested up from your running you did. Just think when you get your surgery and get the weight off that wont be too bad then….good feeling.

SANDY :::: yes people still have angels but seems like it has gotten pushed to the side anymore. So many people get on here a day or two before surgery and no one gets to know them so no one offers to do that for them….im so glad Colette offered . She is a great angel…she was my angel and she walked me thru a lot of stuff before I ever even had surgery so I felt really ready ….good luck on Thursday and will be praying for you ….

COLETTE:::thanks for offering to be Sandys angel…I didn’t read her post until right now….

Hope this will get the new people to posting before their surgery and let people know them more. We need to get the Angel thing going again….

Have a great day today….lets all close our eyes and turn around 3 times and say over and over again….please let the sun shine, please let the sun shine, please let the sun shine …..lol never can tell it might work …..

Good Morning Mimi...

Reading about Sandy and "angels" made me once again so thankful for the
3 wonderful angels I had!!!! And the beautiful friendships I have formed thru this whole WLS experience!  All the great people I have met! It's simply wonderful!

Sandy ~ I wish you the very very best! You are in very good hands with Colette she is simply a doll.  I love her!

Mimi ~ the $51 ticket was for gas and I knew his car would not hold that much in gas so I thought maybe he was getting gas to fill up my "new gator" ~tee hee... but have since figured out it is something else... maybe?  Thinking it might be cabinets for my laundry room, lots and lots of cabinets, I've wanted them since we built this house... that would be WONDERFUL... I just don't have near enough storage for all my small appliances, extra canned food and such... but then if it is that?  That's means I would have a huge job ahead of me in staining and varnishing them! Will hold off on that till after Christmas for sure... not sure if I will be working at Penney's after the holidays or not?  After tomorrow I will not be off but one day till Christmas... most of the shifts 8 and 9 hours rather than 6. You and Jo are sweet in your comments, I sure do want to show kindness in what I do as much as I can... this old world is so full of unhappiness that sometimes a smile means alot.  I know it lifts my spirits to see one.  It will be interesting to see how the customers do this weekend it is getting down to crunch time as far as the shopping goes...they tell me the closer to Christmas the more tense the shoppers tend to be?

You ladies are right... Christmas has gotten way too commercialized and that's why it's so important that each of us as "influencers" in our own families do what we can to make it the best it can be in the way of "true meaning"... I have tried to keep that a priority in my family over the years... there is just not a whole lot I can do about the commercialism of the whole thing but beings it starts so much earlier in the year all the time it does give me the opportunity to open up dialog about the real reason we do celebrate, many many more times... even way back in July...I try to console my frustration over the more negative part of this, like this: as for the real reason we celebrate... we have much cause to celebrate ALL year long!

Spent the biggest part of the day re~doing my closet AGAIN and getting rid of a whole pile of clothes that no longer fit... I have a whole whole bunch that just about fit... kind of in between stage again...

Well it's time to get on out there and do my exercise... on the 22nd of December I will be at 14 months! Wonder how long "we" will be able to go without breaking the consecutive day number?  Boy the Lord has sure been good to give me the strength that He has!

Was up early and made a casserole and burritos for the next few days.  Need to get the garage straightened and some cooking done on Wednesday, have a few more presents to wrap as well.

You all have a good and blessed day!

We have sunshine today!!  Jan, hope the sun is shining in your neighborhood.

Last night I bought Chinese takeout and it was not good.  DH got Cashew Chicken and not one cashew in the box.  I had Chicken and Vegetables and it was all celery.  I never cared much for celery and now it's hard to digest.  I hadn't tried rice for a very long time and I won't be having it again.  It made me so miserable and I threw up 3 times.

DH wanted some Marshmallow Fudge so I made a batch.  Tasted a little bit and I didn't like it at all.  Nasty!!  Way too sweet.  So glad I didn't like it.

I'll take a look at that article from 60 Minutes.  Nothing on TV right now.  Hallmark channel has some good Christmas movies so I've been recording them so I can zap the commerials.

My office has collection boxes for Harvesters for the next 2 weeks.  You donate 3 items and can wear jeans.  I like doing things like that for Christmas.

Stay warm everyone and have a great day!!

I just realized this is only day four since plastics. I am getting up and down much easier. I still do not have much if any swelling in my legs. The drains are barely producing but there is still enough to keep them. I am surprised its been as easy as it has so far. I guess I was expecting it to be much worse. So far I am happy with the results.
I got on the scale and actually lost a pound. I expected to have some extra fluid but guess I do not. I am ok with that. I am sleeping a lot. I am sure its because I am taking my pain meds. I am enjoying doing nothing but my mind is beginning to tell me I need to get busy. I had most everything done for Christmas before hand just in case I wasn't able.

I do need everyones prayers. My oldest DS is in some kind of trouble. I haven't been able to find out what it is yet. He was three months behind on water, power and phone and lost his job but he won't give me any details and is avoiding me completely. I am worried about him. He says he lost his job last week so what did he do with his money? I am hoping its not drugs. Just keep us in your prayers.
I hope you are all warm and dry today
Susie

Good Morning OH People

Jan, you know it was kind of fun posting the recipe, it is a project that is better done in a group and with people like my mother-law that knew how to make them.

I think there are a lot of people that traditionally do tamales only for the holidays or special celebrations, because they are so time consuming.

I see the sun is out today, but it doesn't feel very warm. I watched our ****erspaniel basking in the sunshine out the kitchen window, he's black and absorbs all that warmth from the sun. Kind of looked like a sunbather on the beach.LOL

You know I agree with Jo and you that Christmas needs to be more about giving things with love that we make with our own hands, it doesn't matter if it's something we knit, crochet or bake, the whole idea is the LOVE you put into what you are making for the family member. Last year I crochet hats and scarves for all of my kids and Grandkids. I know that at least two of the grandchildren are wearing the hat and scarf this year.

I'm gonna bake and we plan on spending time with our family. We will also be giving thanks for the blessings of the past year and pray that the New Year will bring "PEACE" and "LOVE" for all of us around the world.

Bec, I think you sound like the kind of person that likes helping others and when you work in a store, at least from my perspective, I can tell if you love what you are doing and even if things aren't going great for me a really nice sales person can make my mood better.

Hope everyone has a good day talk to ya all later.

Good Morning or Afternoon!

My day so far has been good.  Daycare is a little wild but that is ok!  Tummy is aching this morning but I think it is due to getting to be on clear liquids tomorrow.  Need to make my Jell-o tonight so I will have it for tomorrow.  Got everything laid out to take just need to pack my bag.  I am thankful for having an angel, and a lady from Holden and I are also friend so my daughter is going to call her also.  Need to go and get the kids ready to lay down for a nap and then I need to get in the shower.  I hope everyone has a great day!
