God has enough blessings to bless everyone in every which way He can.  We have to allow Him to do so.  He wants us to be swimming in blessings that overflow our lives.  Matthew 6:33 says if we seek first the kingdom of God and His righteous and all the things we need will be added unto us.  The bible also says to give and it shall be given unto us, good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over with it be given back to us.  You know when we read that scripture we tend to think that’s talking about money but in fact its for every area of our life, not just money.  When we give of our time to helping others, feeding the needy etc. God will give back to us and our cup of blessing will run over so that we wont have room enough to contain it.  God wants us to live in His overflow of blessings, He wants to bless us so much, He’s such an awesome Father.

Today’s Reading

Hosea 10:1-14:9
Jude 1:1-25
Psalm 127:1-5
Proverbs 29:15-17

Daily Devotional

"Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord"
(Romans 12:11, NIV)

God wants us to have His very best. He doesn't want us to just barely get by in life; He wants us to thrive and overflow with His goodness. Notice what our part is as His children - we have to be willing and obedient. It's not just doing what the Word of God says; you've got to do it with the right attitude.

It's one thing to give because you have to. It's another thing to give because you want to. It's one thing to go to work to pick up a paycheck. It's another thing to go to work so you can be a blessing to someone else. It's one thing to stay married because it's the right thing to do. But it's another thing to stay married and treat your spouse with respect and honor so you can help them reach a higher level. That's being willing and obedient. That's having an overflow mentality. That's understanding that God wants to bless you so that you can be a blessing to others.

Friend, when you live this way, there's no limit to what God will do in your life. Decide today to be willing and obedient and watch His blessings overflow in every area of your life!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

"Father God, I want to be willing and obedient. I want to honor You in all that I do. Help me to find ways to be a blessing to others as You pour out increase in every area of my life. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

I Corinthians 15:57 - But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Good Morning Andy...

I'm a bit late getting to yesterdays post...surprise surprise! ~tee hee

But golly wow was that a mindful to think about!  And there in the devotional was that "O" word again! All it lacked was the "D" word to put right with it because when we are obedient it often means we are going to have to be disciplined as well. Again I just can't tell you how many times this year these subjects have been brought to my attention... I know without a doubt that the Lord has required me to deal with these two difficult words and their meaning in my life.  OUCH! OUCH! OUCH!  Some of the time I feel like I've kicked and screamed about it all the way but in other ways I know it has been somewhat life changing and very very good for me!  I know I sure am not done with these two words and most likely will have to deal with them for a very long time to come but also know...  in the end you are right, blessings flow thru them!

Blessing to you my friend! Knowing in some ways we face the same issues.  May you find great success as you too deal with these two required words! ~ha
