Daily Bible Reading - Sunday - December 6th
I remember back before I had WLS, I had lost my passion for living, in fact at that point I could care less about living, I was 550# and could hardly get around. I couldn’t fit behind the steering wheel of the car, I couldn’t fit any where really. Others were to afraid to let me ride in their car for fear I’d break their seats, I hated going to visit anyone because I didn’t want to sit on their couch for fear of messing it up. We’ve all been there and done that I know. Now that I’ve had WLS God has restored my passion for living. Now instead of not wanting to get out and do things, I love getting out and doing things, I love going to visit people, going to church, Wal-Mart or any where is a joy now. I especially like going to Wal-Mart for the simple reason it reminds me of where I came from. Before WLS I used to have to get one of the electric carts at Wal-Mart to get around, with me being so heavy some of them would barely go but it’d still go faster than I could get around at that time, now I don’t even think about getting one, I just look at the carts and thank God I am able to walk all over Wal-Mart instead of ride, what a feeling that is. Having a passion to live life like God intended us to have is such a blessing and makes life so much more enjoyable to live. Where’s your passion?

Daily Devotional
"Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord"
(Romans 12:11, NIV)
Zeal is simply another word for passion. I've noticed that too many people today have lost their passion and enthusiasm for life. At one time, they were excited about their dreams and got up every day with purpose and passion. But now, because time has passed and they've experienced disappointments, they're not excited about those dreams anymore. They've lost their fire.
Friend, God wants you to live with passion! You weren't meant to live a stagnant, ordinary life. You serve an extraordinary God, and you are called to be a reflection of Him.
The truth is, most of life can be very routine. We have to work to keep things fresh. We have to put forth effort to stay passionate about our jobs, relationships, and our walk with the Lord. I believe every day we need to stir ourselves up. Just like the apostle Paul told Timothy, today I'm telling you to "fan your flame!" In other words, don't let the fire go out. Stay passionate about your life so you can move forward and embrace the dreams God has placed within you!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
"Father God, thank You for Your Word which is truth that sets me free. Help me to stir up the passion in my heart so that I can stay on fire for You. Thank You for guiding and directing my steps so that I can embrace every dream and promise You have for me. In Jesus' Name Amen."
I could of just cried at your writing this morning... I know a bit of that, not to the extent you did. But I do know the new passion for life... I am seeing it a fresh since I started working for the holidays, a real difference in myself. The little things that would of bothered me 10 years ago (the last time I worked) seems so "trivial" in comparison to the life I live now. The joy and happiness I get in the very small things. It is wonderful to feel halfway decent about where I'm at... it's not about me so much anymore but I have more freedom to care about the another without having to worry about how I look, how I feel, etc etc etc. IT'S GREAT! I have a "lift" in my step I have not had in many many many years. The Lord has been so good to me! Thank you for the sweet words and being willing to share them.
