WHATS HAPPENING SUNDAY NOV 29

I got most of my elephant ears cut off so they can start to dry out. Will have to cut them shorter as they dry more…hopefully this cold spell that we are getting this next week. …then I will cover them with straw. For the winter. Have to dig up some other things. Like the pea**** orchids. I am going to leave a patch of them this winter and cover them with straw and see if they do alright if they do they no longer will be

dug up for sure.

‘sure will be glad when this knee gets back to normal…I really need to be able to get closer to the ground than I can get right now. Probably will have to go get some more straw tomorrow..or Monday.

Got out our Christmas tree today and got it put together…it is a prelit tree but not one light on it and I have no lights in the box so will have to buy more Monday…I cant believe that there is not one light on that tree…made me really mad lol oh well. Either buy more lights or another tree. Hmmmmmmm I guess the lights will be cheaper right now. The tree is losing a lot of its tips off the limbs. Too so I guess it is just getting old. We have had it since Joe got injured which was in 99. So I guess it has lived its prime ??

LOU::::: you sound like you had a really good time and got some good buys….love your picture of you and your family…you look as young as your kids for sure. , my goodness. Loosing weight has been fantastic for you in every way ….

JO::::: yes it was totally amazing that we could have our meal outside it was beautiful. …I didn’t go shopping on black Friday either. I guess im too chicken….

I admire your knitting scarfs I wish I could do something like that.

JEANIE-RAE::::yeah I found out when the meetings were at Dr. Edwards too ….that is good so you can go to both of them…it helps in learning anything and everything you can about the surgery. …the meeting this month will just be a regular meeting. If anyone wants to bring little treats that are weight loss good then that will be ok. I may bring some protein balls or cheese and low carb crackers. It will be after Christmas so maybe we can talk about how we managed the holidays….next month January little Rhian said she would take over doing the meetings. That will be good because I just cant do it anymore. I never did a great job I felt like anyway. I have my post on here and that is what I am better at.

I got a phone call from Vesta today…she told me to tell you all Hi and that she sure was getting mighty lonesome for all of us..I am trying to get her to come up for the next support meeting. She said she just loves her new house. …

Jan, I'll bet playing in the dirt made you feel good.  My husband has been working outside every chance he gets.

Jeanie-Rae, I still cook a lot.  I wondered if I would still want to cook after WLS, and I do.  I'm always trying new recipes.  I do substitute a sugar substitute wherever I can.

Last night we had dinner at my niece's and she used Splenda in anything calling for sugar.  My sister made Cream Puffs and used a SF pudding.  I appreciated them doing that.  My niece lose 80 lbs. on WWs a few years ago but has put it all back on.  I love her no matter her size but I would like for her to lose the weight.  My sister has always been heavy and would like to be thin but healthy eating isn't something she's interested in.

We're going to Firs****ch for lunch.  I have a free meal coupon that expires Dec. 1st.  My fridge is full of leftovers so no cooking for me until those are cleared out.  My SD sent home turkey and I won't be eating any of that.  Really strange how nasty turkey tastes since surgery.

A cloudy day here and probably rain coming.  It's back to work tomorrow.

Hello to all,
Been a while since I was on here and looks like everyone else is busy too.  Had some of the kids for thanksgiving (from Kansas and Texas)   The rest of the clan will be here at Christmas.  Had a wonderful time and cant give enough thanks and praise to God for all his blessings this past year

Had several dr. appts for me this past week.  One with Dr. H  (which all is well) and then I also had the dreaded colonoscopy last tues.  Everything was normal there too.  Told me my fibre intake was good.  How can they tell that from inspecting your colon?????   No polps or anything.  I have to have it every 3 years because of my family history.

Hubby is fine, and keeps on moving which is good.  Uses his walker but at least he can move.  He was so excitedto see the kids.

Hoping all continues to get better for you Jan and soon you have full recovery with your knee.  This cold weather plays havoc with my arthritis.  The best thing to do is keep going and keep busy.  LOL   Take care,  God Bless, Colette

Good evening Jan and OH,

Well it's Sunday and everybody has gone home, well except my older son and he lives up the driveway from us. Of course he is in the middle of remodeling his mobile home and has no kitchen or laundry room yet so I see him everyday, at least once. He's finally getting his hardwood floors laid and talking about starting to look for cabinets for his kitchen. He'll still come down here to eat though. I tease him and tell him the reason he isn't married is cause he can't find a women as pretty as he likes that can cook as good as mom,LOL.

Jan sounds like you need a floor installers chair on wheels so you can get right down to your gardens. Matt installed floors for a while, the first time I saw him rolling around on that reminded me of a monkey on mini-tricycle.

Haven't heard from the Phsyc. Dr. yet, guess I'll call tomorrow and let them know I want to get this party started. Even if it takes another six months, if they are staying in touch and have me on a regular routine I can handle that.

Jo, I love to cook also. Right now I try to cook things that are healthy for me and my other half. Our PCP told him he's borderline diabetic and if he just cuts his carbs by 1/3 he should be ok. So I try to do a lot of Veggies, and try to always include Salads, with Vinegar based dressings. I do plan on cooking still, but I think right after surgery, they will have to cook for themselves a lot.

I hope everyone had a great Thanks-giving. That's the Holiday that's most important to me, it's a time when family can get together and share all the Love they have and Thank God for all the Blessings He has givin us.
